  1. Thanks Thornton and Ventura. An assist to Ramirez and Beckham for not getting the runner in from 3rd when it would have been huge to make it 3-0.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 09:36 PM) I hate four-game series on the road. You'd have to think Sox will lose 3 of 4. A split would be good. First place is gonna be leaving our grasp soon if we lose again Sunday. Is the KC rain coming your way? I'd take a rain out on Sunday right now. I'd rather have Sale pitch in Toronto. I hope it's not coming from KC to China, lol. That would be quite the weather phenomenon....there's been enough rain in SE Asia to last the US for a year.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 09:33 PM) Poor bullpen management. I know you bring up the blown saves stat a lot. This feels like the US women's volleyball game against BRA. We had all the momentum in the world until Ramirez hit into that double play and then we just got steamrolled (largely our own doing)...too many mistakes from the manager, bullpen and defense to make up for. Oakland's actually stranded 13 runners in this game, and only retired in order in the 1st and 6th. Where's Orlando Cabrera when we need him to face Balfour, lol?
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 09:32 PM) This is more runs than Oak scores in a week. The OAK offense has been pretty darned dangerous since they added Carter from the minors and Cespedes came off the DL...at least for the last month, month and a half. They've been scoring more than we have.
  5. This is kind of scary, between facing Bartolo Colon tomorrow and then going to Toronto, where we have NEVER played well... Defense letting the White Sox down again. Ramirez against Cespedes. Rios playing that into a double. Youkilis not calling off Flowers and helping him out. On paper, with our RS/RA average, we should be 15-17 games over .500. Defense costs the White Sox another run there.
  6. Great, now we're using Myers one inning too late, lol.
  7. It's almost like Ozzie with some of his favorite veterans. The only way to stop Ventura from losing all these games is for KW to somehow get Thornton off the roster.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 09:18 PM) I know the Sox have shown resiliency a lot of times this year, but I really hope they don't just have six lousy at bats the rest of the way. Cmon Sox ... make all six outs count and try to take the lead one final time!!! Man ... s***ty relief pitching tonight cept for Crain and he gave up the deep one that got stuck in the wall. Which DeAza badly misplayed. Crain's been a bit shaky at times but he usually doesn't break when bending.
  9. There's just no way the White Sox can go into 2013 with Matt Thornton on the team. It's time...it came for Javy, Linebrink, Contreras, MacDougal, Linebrink. He's just a shadow of his former self. If nothing else, Ventura should never have tempted fate with the Oakland A's and Thornton in the same game twice.
  10. Two out runs are killing us this season. Dammit.
  11. I FREAKING HATE MATT THORNTON. JESUS. If there's a rule in any Matt Thornton outing, it's that there will be a gork shot somewhere that falls in...it's inevitable.
  12. We need Myers in there. When will the Thornton nightmare end?
  13. Another blown save for the White Sox. Great job, Thornton. Way to get beat on your crap pitch.
  14. Starting to feel like 2005 again with that huge break. DeAza pretty much misplayed that and then got bailed out by a freak bounce.
  15. Have to bust Norris in like that....he hangs out too far over the plate and is vulnerable if he can't get his arms extended.
  16. Flowers, Youkilis and especially Humber saved this game, at least for now. Good thing we didn't just dump him or bring up Axelrod for that role.
  17. Yankees almost rallied to tie or go ahead but Granderson made an out with tying and winning runners at 2nd and 3rd. 6-5 Tigers.
  18. QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 08:31 PM) What did you want him to do there? It was a good slide. **** happens. Protect home plate and be in a position to make a tag when there's a decent throw.
  19. Throw beat the runner....but AJ wasn't in a great position to make the tag, too far out in front of home plate for some reason. Well, let's just put that run on AJ, pretty much, taking one away from us and giving one to them.
  20. After the hit, an abysmal inning for AJ. Should have had Gordon dead to rights if he didn't rush it.
  21. Yanks scored a run to draw within 5-3. An Ichiro double scoring Swisher, of all things.
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 08:22 PM) Wow that was so much fail. I wanted a good bunt, not a f***ing pop up. Doesn't make as much sense with Olmedo and Beckham coming up (compared to DeAza/Youk). You'd trust Danks over Olmedo, but it's surely a sign he wasn't confident Jordan would do much besides K against Chen.
  23. I hope we don't want Danks to play over Viciedo...
  24. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 07:42 PM) Bench Tank NOW! And play who?
