2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
Gavin Lux out OPSing Shohei Ohtani for now... 288 .795 Sheets dealing with first big slump

4/26 Games
Hopefully precautionary 2-3 days off and not IL-worthy.

Sox acquire Workman
Now we really don't need Josh Rojas with Workman also on the roster. You've got Ramos, Baldwin (utility), Meidroth, Sosa, Vargas...very crowded infield (six, including Workman), but someone pretty much HAS to emerge and be at least above replacement level. Hopefully/theoretically. Baldwin, right now, looks really good...but he's not an everyday big league SS defensively, at least not yet.

Fire Chris Getz
https://www.southsidesox.com/2025/4/14/24407840/lack-of-offensive-progress-a-growing-indictment-of-chicago-white-sox-gm-chris-getz-record Waiting another 2 to 2 1/2 seasons on Braden Montgomery unless they really rush him. And he's ideally suited for RF, not center.

Lol. 2006-2012 were very solid/competitive seasons compared to what came after.

2 1/2 games ahead of the Rockies, even. At least the opener idea with Gilbert was a nice new twist...it really worked for both games. Not sure about a third.

Because amazing leadoff hitter Palacios not in the lineup and Benintendi not 100% lol. Ozzie would probably put Baldwin there "because he's pretty fast."

Starting Gilbert again today...not sure long they can go with that strategy without overexposing him. We can't quite quit Amaya lol. Viewership
https://out.reddit.com/t3_1auvlyp?url=https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2Fcclark_13%2Fstatus%2F1759654666499928519%3Ft%3D5VoOKYZDNVcBqwWyF3ZlAA%26s%3D19&token=AQAAyvEMaMnIWNCprHF2vfx9nITG69XySY5sxIfAiDak1eeHNkIx&app_name=reddit.com Obviously the Suns are more popular in Phoenix than the White Sox in Chicago, but Ishbia’s plan to provide free coverage led to a 95% increase in Suns’ viewership in 2023-24 versus the previous season. Whereas the White Sox are down somewhere between 63-80% going by the Bulls and Hawks’ released numbers….or maybe even WORSE than that, potentially.

JR meets with FCC head...trying to emulate Yankees/YES/Comcast deal
Then why is SoxMachine/Margalus running it like it’s headline news now? Tbh my iPad hasn’t been working well with the VPN, so it’s not like I can read every single story posted. And playing politics is slightly underselling things when it’s the head of the FCC and the Josh Nelson subscriber speculation about CHSN or ratings/share is something nobody’s been able to approximate just yet. If it’s anything close to the alarming rate of decrease experienced by the Bulls or Blackhawks, they will attempt to suppress it for as long as possible. It would help explain the #29 payroll and lack of FA spending, for one thing. It might be embarrassing to Boyer, but it would still be better to directly and honestly explain these issues instead of it seeming like there’s no strategic plan in place and they’re just flying by the seat of their pants.

JR meets with FCC head...trying to emulate Yankees/YES/Comcast deal
"I've been doing some digging on the Padres local TV deal and it isn't pretty. MLB will control the broadcast rights for 6 teams in 2025, including the Padres (Twins Guardians Brewers Rockies and DBacks). Last year, the Padres received just $15 million from MLB for those rights. I don't know who gets the advertising revenue, but I suspect that MLB does. I've also been unable to find out if any of that revenue gets split with the Padres. In addition, there were 40,000ish subscribers to MLB's streaming service, but I suspect that number includes season ticket holders who get it for free, T-Mobile gift packages, etc. Still, assuming the most optimistic numbers, that is probably worth about $6 million (probably less) of which the Padres will probably get some percentage. After all my digging, my most optimistic estimate is that we brought in $30 million in TV revenue last season unless I'm missing a major source of TV/Streaming revenue. The number will be similar for 2025 by all accounts." https://www.facebook.com/groups/domgfanclub/posts/2970413329801883/

JR meets with FCC head...trying to emulate Yankees/YES/Comcast deal
This is a direct Josh Nelson-generated post in the messages thread responding to the Jim Margalus’ main headline story... "There's a service called Sensor Tower - they track how many downloads a particular app has in either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Here's an example using Instagram data: https://app.sensortower.com/overview/389801252?country=US Looking up CHSN, and boy it's not good. iOS downloads (Apple devices): 10K downloads worldwide last month. Estimated monthly revenue: $60,000 Google Play downloads (Android devices): 5K downloads world wide last month. Estimated monthly revenue: $10,000 If this data tells the entire story, the fact CHSN made only $70,000 from mobile subscriptions with the Bulls' postseason run, Blackhawks wrapping up the season, and White Sox spring training, that should be a MASSIVE concern for all three sports franchises. In 2022, the White Sox received $60 million according to MLB Trade Rumors. I'd be surprised with the current arrangement that the White Sox receive $6 million (1/10th) in 2025 (note: doesn't include advertising projections). There has to be someone screaming within Business Ops "FIRE!" about the potential revenue shortfall."

negotiations in NY, but hears cricket back in return. Yet another Sox-related humiliation. https://soxmachine.com/2025/04/spare-parts-without-comcast-deal-chsn-seeks-support-elsewhere “The lack of (Sox) on-field success could also hamper attempts to pressure Comcast from other directions. The Federal Communications Commission was at least peripherally involved in the discussion between the Yankees and Comcast, as the YES Network was nearly dropped from the basic tier before reaching an agreement at the end of March.” “In a surprise development on March 31st, YES Network and Comcast on Monday night reached a new carriage agreement, coming to terms on a deal just hours before the regional sports network was set to go dark in Xfinity households across northern New Jersey, the lower Hudson Valley and parts of Connecticut and Pennsylvania. An informal extension in the YES-Comcast carriage feud was set to expire at 11:59 p.m. ET, which would have led to the RSN being yanked in short order. As YES CEO Jon Litner informed viewers of Sunday’s Brewers-Yankees game, Comcast had informed network brass that “they will drop the YES Network from their programming lineup Monday night at midnight.” The last-minute deal was announced in a joint statement issued late Monday night.” https://www.sportico.com/business/media/2025/comcast-yes-network-new-tv-deal-1234845679/
