Opening Day Angels/Sox 3/27...
MTSGAA Make Taylor Street Go Away (Again) Since drafting outside of Flagg Harper and Bailey is a total crap shoot at this point, 98.5% of Bulls' fans were probably excited by the win and celebrating. Maybe that will even be enough to pressure Comcast on carrying CHSN. PS: Also, you clearly didn't read The Catches in the Rye or you would be able to spell Caulfield correctly.

Players Currently In DFA Limbo
Rosario's fine...and the White Sox already THINK they have that player in Brooks Baldwin. https://www.thebaseballcube.com/content/player/204501/ While he's already 25, he has a career 783 OPS in around 100 MLB at-bats, which is pretty darned good for an infielder these days. Can play all four infield positions, RF....and undoubtedly LF if he practiced. 890 ops in the minor leagues last year. Career minor league OPS of .789, so pretty consistent production throughout his career. Quintessential 2-2.5-3.0ish fWAR guy, maybe, IF IF IF he could ever earn consistent everyday playing time. Canario's the much more interesting/exciting/entertaining "all or nothing" player...Rosario perhaps more useful, but the White Sox just don't have any legit OF prospects in AA/AAA.

2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
The six home runs were an Orioles Opening Day record Baltimore's offensive attack was powered by Adley Rutschman and Cedric Mullins, who hit two home runs apiece. Tyler O'Neill and Jordan Westburg also went deep.3 hours ago

The last World Series winner to primarily utilize a "closer by committee" approach was the 2014 San Francisco Giants. Sergio Romo's Struggles: Romo, the Giants' primary closer, struggled in the first half of the 2014 season, leading to his removal from the closer role and the team's shift to a closer-by-committee strategy. Romo had 23 saves, Santiago Casilla 19 saves...Jean Machi 2, Hunter Strickland 1 and Tim Lincecum 1.

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
Pretty sure there's Connor McKnight and Brooke Fletcher, Garfien on the t.v. side, but not sure about the website/writing side of things.

Eder, Fletcher DFA'd , Thorpe to the 60 day IL
Use them on who, exactly? Cal Mitchell? Veras? Terrell Tatum? There's just no even marginal MLB talent at Charlotte and likely Birmingham as well. Alexander Canario would automatically become their best outfield prospect (all the way down to A ball) if he's claimed/traded for. The very best option RIGHT NOW if you want a young outfield is probably transitioning Brooks Baldwin to the outfield.

At least this will put more pressure on Comcast to carry CHSN...hopefully.

2025 MLB season...catch-all for non-Sox, non AL-Central
Angels' Ryan Johnson makes opening day roster, skips ... Reuters https://www.reuters.com › sports › report-angels-ryan-j... 2 days ago — The Angels have aggressively called up their top prospects in recent years; Chase Silseth (2021), Zach Neto (2022), Nolan Schanuel (2023) and ... Not like those guys have exactly LIT the world on fire, have they? Reminiscent of KW/Hahn picks like Royce Ring, Zach Burdi and Aaron Poreda, to name a few. Drafting for major league (immediate) needs.

19 Bally RSN's going bankrupt, 14 MLB teams potentially affected
Many baseball fans took to social media Thursday to report issues streaming Opening Day games on MLB.TV. Fans shared various accounts on X of encountering error messages while trying to watch games, with the issue lasting at least an hour during the early slate. The league said it experienced a technical issue earlier in the day, and as of Thursday afternoon, the service was back up. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6236619/2025/03/27/mlb-tv-outage-opening-day-2025/

8-1 versus 7-3, pretty darned close, nobody saw a blowout coming with Kukuchi vs. the inexperienced Burke.

Did McGuire make the Cubs or sent down? Funny that both Nicky Lopez and Jankowski were both there at the start of spring training...

That's an Opening Day Winner ‼️
Rusty Kuntz is 70 years old now....wow, time flies. He was the Royals' 1B coach as recently as 2021, but pretty sure he's retired now.

Isn't Anderson at Northwestern now? Or he was an assistant there but got passed over for the head job? He wasn't exactly the most disciplined as a player, not sure how that would translate into coaching. Anderson joined Northwestern as an assistant coach in 2023. Brian Simmons that used to work with Bulls/Sox Academy might be a better choice.

That would be fine, too. (Or Iguchi to start establishing connections with NPB.) I'm more concerned with the minor leaguers learning proper outfield defense at this point...the big league veterans pretty much are what they are, although Benintendi seems like he has room for improvement based on the last couple of years and previous GG.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised it wasn't Booser, but it seems like Venable's going to manage "by feel" every single game in the early going and will resist naming an official closer (Clevinger) for as long as possible to keep all the young/inexperienced arms down in that pen feeling like they could be used at any time and in any situation. Bryse Wilson and Vasil seem like the designated "long/swing" guys for now...or spot starters.

He's the "Offensive Coordinator." That might be in the major league dugout, but I think he'll be all over the system during the course of the year, especially AAA/AA/Winston-Salem and then working with Braden and Wolkow a lot. I think every team has a minor league coordinator, but this is more focused on hitting apparently, which is interesting since Grady was always well known for his defensive skills as well. White Sox really need a defensive specialist like Rusty Kuntz in KC. It most definitely was NOT Daryl Boston.

I think it's the right mix of veterans...reminding the young players with their professionalism that they have to EARN playing time and not just have it simply given to them. In some ways, I hope they send Baldwin back down to the minors when Rojas returns just so he can get regular at-bats. Which means Maton would have the last spot on the team due to his spring training impression/s. Everyone seems to love Maton's personality in the clubhouse, team chemistry is important coming off 121 losses. Moving on from Fletcher and Colas helps too, Steven Wilson, etc. We'll have to wait and see how this Closer Clevinger Experiment works out. So far, so good.

Grady Sizemore helped to change the mood around the team as well...and, of all things, fans booing when they weren't losing enough games in the final six weeks and Benintendi getting pissed off for the first time as a member of the Sox, finally showing some emotion.

White Sox, Guardians 1-0 Royals, Twins 0-1 Tigers/Skubal just gave up a 3 run bomb to Teoscar, now trail 4-2 in middle innings White Sox leading AL Central in RS/RA, lol.

AAA/Knights rotation is sort of set....at least for the first four games Chris Rodriguez, Nastrini, Iriarte, Dunn, TBA Barons don't get their season started until next FRI SAT SUN vs. Knoxville at home
