  1. Lol...well, they have to play someone at SS.
  2. 27 pitches, removed like Yates.. Dodgers/As (ss) into 8th or 9th. What a battle today at Camelback Ranch!!! Going toe to toe with the World Champions. Another A ball pitcher.
  3. Fletcher 176 vs lefties last year, 215 vs rhp.
  4. You realize LA has half a team today as well...although most position players stayed in Glendale. Colas with two hits now. Flare into RCF. Rams walks.
  5. Still not getting much pop out of Vargas. Narvaez challenged pitch and was wrong earlier Oops.
  6. No, Yamamoto and Sasaki throwing bullpen s getting ready for Tuesday night against Cincy. Last night game of spring. Leave March 12th for Tokyo...then mlb becomes Cubs Dodgers NPB for approximately one week.
  7. Chris Taylor apparently likes Dua Lipa. California the choice by Rosario. Pages...favorite of Cali, Out man in the other game. Do we have anyone to trade to NYY to replace Stanton and LeMahieu lol?
  8. Umm...it's just about getting work in, like when Teel homerd against Sasaki and Elko hit him hard. Sasaki pitches Tuesday after Yamamoto at night against the Reds. Both threw bullpen sessions at Glendale, generating a lot of excitement.
  9. A ball pitcher in...strands bases loaded. Tauchman too overanxious.
  10. White Sox back not to scoring runs...Ramos FC, wo shots here after the Colas double. Baldwin up. Baldwin walks. 0-5 with risp. Didn't realize Vaughn had 17 homers for three consecutive seasons. Vaughn hits a ball up the middle. ...scores the run after a diving stop by Taylor. Bases loaded. Yates out due to PC.
  11. Still adhering to that SS prediction from two days ago when Montgomery was scratched? Sosa has to be the current favorite to start somewhere...either DH SS or 2B.
  12. Baltimore? It's ugly at Chelsea FC for the same Dodgers' group. Mets/Cohen?
  13. "On the other hand, supporters of Ishbia’s approach argue that his passion and accessibility set a positive tone for the organization. His hands-on leadership style, while unconventional, can inspire employees and players alike, by demonstrating a deep commitment to excellence. In some ways, his micromanagement tendencies may reflect a desire to right the wrongs of the past, ensuring that the team operates with accountability and transparency. However, striking the right balance between active involvement and allowing professionals to lead remains a critical challenge for Ishbia as he continues to guide the Suns. Whether his hands-on style fosters long-term success or leads to friction will depend on his ability to trust his team while maintaining the enthusiasm that has already made an impact." https://twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/minnesota-twins/all-about-the-ishbias-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly-with-the-twins-potential-new-owners-r17507/ For conspiracy theorists, Justin Ishbia has ties to Nashville/Vandy, but it's not like he's been living/working there for the past 20 years. He clearly is in Winnetka and the Chicagoland area to stay from all accounts...and supposedly a big baseball fan compared to Matt, who's more of a basketball guy for obvious reasons.
  14. Is that a made up name...like Alonso? Friends & Family? ESPN analyst?
  15. Let's hope just for the sake of boring baseball it doesn't take another week to score the next 19 runs they had prior to yesterday two touchdown and a field goal outburst...
  16. Will probably put it out there that he's only signing with the Dodgers lol.
  17. https://athlonsports.com/mlb/san-diego-padres/fans-in-disbelief-fernando-tatis-jr-towering-home-run Tatis has now played in all of one Spring Training game...they're not going to win the division, but they'll at least be competitive/entertaining.
  18. More importantly, how long will Getz's employment last after Ishbia assumes control...?
  19. According to Fox News...they give them out simply for things you might potentially accomplish.
  20. Ask any Dodgers' fans if they're concerned in the least. Otoh the White Sox had the worst spring training record last year and now this year...pretty obvious there's at least SOME correlation there. How high it is...you'd have to analyst Spring Training vs. regular season records. There's also the same correlation with minor league winning percentages vs. actually producing legit Top 100 MiLB prospects.
  21. On this Brewers Spotlight, we shine the light on Brewers relief pitcher prospect Shane Smith. He was the Brewer Fanatic 2023 Minor League Relief Pitcher of the Year. His story is interesting and one can't help but wish him health and success. After a solid high school career, he went to Wake Forest. Unfortunately, over three seasons there, he pitched a total of just 10 1/3 innings. He had a shoulder injury and redshirted his first season. He had taken over the role of closer for the Demon Deacons and was pitching well when Covid shut down the season. He began the following season as a starter but hurt his elbow and needed Tommy John surgery. https://brewerfanatic.com/videos/milwaukee-brewers-minor-leagues/brewers-spotlight-rhp-shane-smith-r134/ "Yeah, this is spot on imho. The only absolute locks, by my eyes, are RHP Logan Henderson and RHP Shane Smith. Too much high end stuff in both these young men's toolkits to leave exposed - no brainers." From Four page discussion on who to protect for MIL on Rule 5 draft
  22. "Instead, after much deep thought and conversations with his parents and others, he decided to bet on himself. Using the Communications degree classes he had already taken (at Wake Forest), he went about contacting MLB organization after organization. It paid off. In early July, the Milwaukee Brewers gave him a chance. He continued to rehab that summer as well as into the 2022 summer. He was able to end that year with three innings over three games for one of the Brewers Arizona Complex League teams. That gave him confidence heading into the 2023 season that he could do it again. The Brewers worked on a plan with him.... He was able to end that season with two games for Double-A Biloxi where he tossed two scoreless innings. He never worked in back-to-back games all season, and if he worked two innings, he would get three days between outings." https://brewerfanatic.com/news-rumors/brewers-minor-league/brewers-prospect-spotlight-rhp-shane-smith-r2776/
  23. I mean...we are holding onto Jesse Scholtens for the time being, but it seems he's going to get more opportunities in various roles if he keeps throwing the ball like today. Granted, his first Spring Training outing wasn't all that memorable...but even M's announcers had Smith throwing BB's right out of the gate as their player of the game today.
  24. TEMPE, Ariz. — Colson Montgomery would hardly view his back spasm blip as a refutation of his work, but his offseason was geared at keeping him healthy and keeping him at shortstop. “I was like 240 pounds in the offseason so I felt like I needed to lose it and I like being a little bit lighter,” said Montgomery, who lost around 10-15 pounds. “It was to be more athletic and to be what I am, because I want to be a shortstop, and I felt I had to lose some weight to be a shortstop.” https://soxmachine.com/2025/03/white-sox-notes-colson-montgomery-slimmed-down-to-stick-at-shortstop/
  25. "Alternatively, perhaps there is an arrangement where Reinsdorf avoids capital gains taxes by keeping his shares until death, but concedes control to you, with a definitive amount to be paid (either in fixed price or by formula) upon his journey to That Great Tax Shelter in the Sky. That could only be done if Jerry desires it, but he could easily rewrite the corporate arrangement to make it so. You could then hold a smiling joint news conference, as you say nice things about him and he says nice thing about you, everybody cheers, and then he drops you off at your fortress in Winnetka on his way home to Highland Park. Perhaps you are saying nothing because it feels maudlin to discuss another man’s death, particularly a death which would make so many people happy. No doubt you see that as bad karma. If so, hundreds of thousands in the Chicago area are in a karma conundrum." https://www.southsidesox.com/2025/3/1/24375126/a-chicago-white-sox-fans-open-letter-to-phoenix-suns-owner-justin-ishbia
