Sox Spring Training notes
They will move him to third next...although natural replacement for Vaughn or DH as well. Elko and Wolkow eventually there...hopefully George can stay at corner OF. Braden would be RF in all likelihood.

Shuster is going to be hard to dislodge because he can be a "swing man"along with Wilson.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
From a PR standpoint...if he's not the majority shareholder right now...it could only be Mellody Hobson at 30%. Both are huge stories that will have to come out eventually. If we believe she actually acquired the shares with Lucas from 2021-22. How many of the remaining shateholders are willing to invest millions into a new White Sox stadium? Can't be many non billionaires on that list. And will the one minority shateholder (father died and passed on shares) connected to partying with Clevinger Plesac during Covid take the money and run?

2025 MiLB Catch All thread
Pallette is relieving right now and it's going to be a shocker if our vertically-challenged RFer makes the team....now with Drury/Gallo, etc. Not sure what they do with Narvaez...maybe he's the MLB back-up, if he's up for it. Gray isn't much of an outfielder, he's used to playing all three infield positions...but why not? None of the outfielders are legit prospects...not even Veras. Not sure what the point of continuing to start Eder is...might push up Carela if he's not in AAA, just to see what happens.

Have seen Garrett Schoenle pitch this spring but no Adisyn Coffey...what's the latest? Coffey to High A or Birmingham?

I don't think it's an automatic thing he gets traded if he can keep pitching this well...Cannon is much more likely to be a 4/5 guy, but we don't exactly know Martin's full potential coming off a major injury. It would ALSO be huge if Thorpe can at least eventually be a "guy" the holds down the back of the rotation and NOT just with a 5.0-6.0 ERA. Perez and Wilson will eventually get traded at some point...but you have to start building somewhere. At least guys like Martin and Shane Smith have some decent "upside" compared to some of the guys we have out in the bullpen.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
Is it BETTER to root for the White Sox to lose more than 121 games to put additional pressure on the Reinsdorfs to acquiesce with the Bulls also collapsing? Or to root for his death? That seems too macabre. Because both options for White Sox fans absolutely stink. To root for the Cubs to have a deep playoff run and get ALL the attention in Chicago...beginning with the Tokyo Series and NPB exhibition coming up in the middle of March (leaving the 12th)??? But we're in a position of hoping that the minority shareholders don't see any light at the end of the tunnel and give up (getting even more money from the Ishbias)...or that he actually has to start offering LESS than $1.8 team valuation per share to get them off the fence if the team continues to struggle on the field, with tv radio ratings/sponsorships AND with getting a new stadium built relying primarily on the Reinsdorfs...which isn't going ANYWHERE at the moment.

So average to below average for a major league reliever the last three years...? Maybe a tick higher than average for a lefty. Ofc Alex Vesia gets away with it due to his control and off speed stuff.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
We will know from mlb if they're approved at least...or certainly NOT approved. Which wouldn't happen after JR brought him in and specifically recruited him off the Twins' purchase from the Pohlads at $1.5 billion.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
All the Dan Hayes and Aaron Gleeman reporting when the Ishbias were both connected to the Twins...they said all reporting out there is that the 2021 share purchase was in the single digits. We know (now) the Reinsdorf sons were buying then as well...and maybe Melody Hobson. That was 30% supposedly. Reinsdorf theoretically around 17.5-25% right now.

Wasn't Eder at 93-96 touching 97 last time out? Dead arm periods are unlikely this early. It's just about his availability to bounce back regularly in 1-2 days. You can't make them wait three days if you're an mlb reliever.

Ishbia increasing minority stake in Sox
If you're an investor holding out for an even higher evaluation.... I would think twice because they're going to have to go to those same investors somewhere down the line in a "capital call" to raise $500 million to $1 billion divided by a percentage for each share for building a new stadium at some point in the next 5-10 years. Would be much more advantageous for most of those smaller shareholders to sell out now. Common thinking was that the Ishbia share was in the 5-10% range before last week.

Gonzalez has been questioned since draft day. What is his path to the big leagues exactly? Injuries and attrition? Eder will continue to get opportunities since he's left handed and throws 93-96.
