  1. There's no such thing at google as a "cash considerations" statue...this was the closest match.
  2. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/mlb-26-and-under-power-rankings-nos-15-11-juan-soto-fernando-tatis-jr-among-the-young-superstars-powering-contenders-200029983.html #15-11 Padres Tigers Mets DBacks Rays etc. Down to the Top 10...Baltimore, Atlanta, Seattle, Cleveland, Cincy, LAD, Brewers, Boston, Pittsburgh and Washington
  3. lOWEN WHITE REVENGE GAME (he’s not on the pitching schedule for today...which is clearly the primary reason for the loss)
  4. This is all that's left of "The Process." Denver Broncos On May 25, 2018, Sam Hinkie met with the Denver Broncos to provide analytical advice after their first losing season since 2010.[31]
  5. They are until the White Sox are decent again...but for now Iowa women's basketball/Indiana Fever are more entertaining. Or the Dodgers...even.
  6. Just going say for the record that Kimbrel's unlikely to make the HoF now. Jansen probably 40-45% chance...maybe he gets in, eventually. Better than Lee Smith, for example...but it's not an open and shut case.
  7. Charlis Haeger He was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot at the Grand Canyon on October 3, 2020, shortly after the suspected murder of his ex-girlfriend.[2]
  8. You realize that Braden was playing in college a year ago...and never even played MiLB/shortseason in his draft year last year? He's looking at a late 2026/early 2027 arrival. And that's still pretty accelerated for a college draftee from a power program. And almost all the scouting reports have him playing RF due to his arm strength. Did we not learn any lesson rushing Andrew Vaughn and Madrigal to a lesser extent when they weren't ready or were out of position?
  9. What did Montgomery do besides strike out? He was challenged more than his first game defensively???
  10. Effective, very effective and "HoF" are too quite different issues, though.
  11. He went through one very rough patch with Milwaukee too...Hader's an interesting case, because he was more of a high-leverage, multiple innings lefty the first part of his career and didn't pile up massive save numbers.
  12. How did W.Gonzalez look? Obviously his final line doesn't look so good... Has to be better than Victor Diaz lol.
  13. New Japanese infielder to pair with our other up the middle?
  14. He's blowing his HoF chances by hanging on too long. If he left the game at his peak...would have made it arguably. Same with Kenley Jansen and maybe even Hader.
  15. That's half of it...opportunity.
  16. Calls to mind the dispute KW had with Rauch after he left a poor start early...or Stone?
  17. Ramos third, Meidroth at SS and Gray the dort of interesting names....Gallo finally getting into a game, as well as Narvaez. Can't say I'd love to pay good money to watch this one...was actually hoping for more Colson or Braden.
  18. Thought it was going to be about Bush and Berroa...
  19. This also isn't ethnic cleaning or genocide. People have all kinds of different things they're looking for out of sports. Some are just looking for entertainment/diversion...others connect the team to the past or time spent with family and friends. I guarantee the mood will pick up significantly if there's legitimately going to be some type of clarity forthcoming and a success ion time table provided. Ambiguity/uncertainty/lack of clarity...diminished hope and frustration lead to dark humor reflecting cold inexoranble reality, simply because 41-121 is such a ridiculously bad performance for a non expansion team. But the reason sites like WSI are no more is because posters felt like they were constrained in expressing opinions and had to suppress negative thoughts for performative fandom just to please the mods. Now we've swung over to the other side of the pendulum where even the most optimistic posters have become "Jaded and cynical" in their 30s and 40s. And for lots of good reasons...hoping and trusting in the franchise has left them constantly disappointed and feeling lied to or misled. Those fans wouldn't be happy with even the consensus #1 farm system if it never led to more than a .500 record. In that sense, it's much easier to be a Doubting Thomas than a "true believer" because it's simply self-protection...we've simply seen it way too many times since the early 1980's.
  20. For every 500-1000 Kelenics...there are just a handful of generational talents to impact the game to the extent that both those guys did...with both power and speed. That puts so much pressure on the bat to play if you can't handle CF or RF. There are obviously anomalies out there....like Stephen Kwan, but they are few and far between.
  21. If it's not true at all the Score and various other Chicago sports talk shows were way out in front of their skis...a peremptory search turns up quite a bit. If they (sons) were simply picking up 5-10% more for the Reinsdorf Family...how would that be a significant outside investment? Wouldn't it be easier for her to put them to bed by denying ever had an interest in the Sox? Is there another team in baseball where 50%+ of shares are controlled by someone NOT the #1 share holder??? After the valuation slide from #8/9 In MLB all the way down to #17/18?
  22. What stuck out to both players was the vibe at Fenway South, even for a Spring Training game. “Just having some good fan turnout helped a lot,” Crochet said. “That's probably the most people I've thrown in front of in Spring Training so it's cool to kind of get the juices going early.” mlb.com 4 k's in debut 1 2/3 ip, bb, spring debut
  23. Then there was Garrett Crochet, the blossoming ace acquired for four prospects at the Winter Meetings. The lefty was overpowering in the first inning, striking out the side. He lost some command in the second and finished his day with a walk and four punchouts over 1 2/3 innings. What stuck out to both players was the vibe at Fenway South, even for a Spring Training game. “Just having some good fan turnout helped a lot,” Crochet said. “That's probably the most people I've thrown in front of in Spring Training so it's cool to kind of get the juices going early.” mlb.com Looks like Max Stassi has a pretty good shot to make the Giants...Murphy is hurt, would be paired with Patrick Bailey
  24. Carela throws about as hard as Thorpe...definitely a finesse guy. Taylor was the stand out. Jac Caglianone hit a massive bomb. Julks was highlight on offense but struggled with the sun/wall on defense like Colas the day before.
  25. Lance Lynn as closer, lol? Whit Merrifield still on the market...someone will definitely sign JD Martinez, pretty soon. Same with Rizzo. Funny that Grossman, Pillar (just signed with TEX) and Jose Abreu were all on this particular list. Grandal, too. Gibson, Quintana, Spencer Turnbull the last "name" pitchers to go before the before bottom/dregs. Jose Iglesias the one that I wanted to sign all along for SS, but seems they're determined to run Colson out there OD. Even then, would have preferred him to Josh Rojas. https://ftw.usatoday.com/2025/02/15-big-name-mlb-free-agents-spring-training
