  1. Jorge Soler has done fine as well. And Willson Contreras. Didn’t pull an Addison Russell.
  2. You haven’t yet considered anything to be a problem or a concern…why change now?
  3. Tell me when Colson is at least at .240 and not striking out at an unsustainable rate for even Charlotte…
  4. GMs can't react emotionally, like fans. They have to be more dispassionate and level-headed.
  5. “I think everyone in the industry respects the way Chris sees the world, his ability to cultivate staff and have people want to work for him, believe in what he’s doing and want to work in Cleveland,” said one AL GM. “He’s kind of unmatched in that regard. There’s a huge group of people who (have offers to go elsewhere and) don’t leave because they love what Chris has built and love working for him every day. I don’t think there’s any executive in the industry who has more respect from his peers than Chris in terms of what type of person he is.” While ownership rarely gives Antonetti and GM Mike Chernoff much to work with, they’ve managed to keep franchise cornerstone José Ramírez, top starter Tanner Bibee and star closer Emmanuel Clase with reasonable long-term deals. “They really care about people there,” one NL GM said. “I think that allows them to compete and to hang on to a lot of talent, both on the field and off.”
  6. But but but...the Rockies are 3-15, and we basically have the same record as the Braves. 27-135 pace for Colorado, woo-hoo, wouldn't that be something if even THAT White Sox record lasted only one season? How about that? (Must be done in Mel Allen's This Week in Baseball voice over.)
  7. How is it "silly" if that's the current thinking of the majority of the industry??? Shouldn't that give Getz an advantage, if he's criminally overloooked or underestimated by everyone in MLB front offices? Did you really expect they would have digested all the "puff pieces" about the Sox and incorporated that into their voting... Dodgers, Rays top voters’ front office rankings 40 MLB executives and coaches ranked the top five MLB front offices Note: only the Dodgers, Rays and Guardians received first place votes/rankings
  8. After we had Gavin Sheets rostered for how many years...?
  9. Originally...then it converted.
  10. symptomatic of a bigger endemic problem that's now practically institutionalized
  11. They might as well release Robert so he can go on to win MVP for the Dodgers lol.
  12. Now they're in even MORE trouble with the Cubs also now out on the late April/early May pitching market. And Marlins with Alcantara, M's to a lesser extent with Castillo (due to his contract), licking their chops
  13. If Quero can put up some of Narvaez's career numbers, that would be a net win for the organization. 1.2 0.5 2.8 age 29 with the Brewers 1.3 1.5 per season in his "prime" years I guess most Sox fans would have to hope for closer to the 2-3 fWAR range with Quero, but I'm certainly not expecting it.
  14. 1. Dodgers 300 2. Rays 237 3. Brewers 118 4. Guardians 105 5. Yankees 53 6. Braves 42 Phillies 42 8. Diamondbacks 30 9. Orioles 23 10. Padres 18 11. Mets 14 12. Tigers 11 13. Astros 10 Rangers 10
  15. And then, inevitably, the Oakland line-up will respond with an offensive barrage...
  16. Maton has to be the worst #3 hitter we've ever trotted out there...in at least the last week or so.
  17. it's a suicide mission until Montgomery comes out of this mental funk he's in to simultaneously stick him at major league SS...
  18. A 29 year old...almost 30, decidedly non-prospect. Sure as hell hope so.
  19. What did Vaughn do now?
  20. Baldwin 286/747 If only he could hold those numbers for an ENTIRE season...
  21. Michael Huff is one of the broadcasters? What next, Chris "Ranger" Rongey? Dan Bernstein?
  22. Even the "other other" Chicago team, the Sky, were smart enough to create some drama with Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith paired together.
