  1. Sounds exactly like 2019-21 White Sox fans. Big difference is they lacked Holliday and a ton of terrible exploding vet contracts lurking on their roster to sabotage things... White Sox simply ran out of second and third wave prospect depth...couldn't afford Rodon (wise in both that case and Abreu) but then Madrigal Vaughn Crochet Burger all underachieved in various ways with no depth behind to replace them. Baltimore seems to have much better timing...to replace their vets and get much younger rather than older. They need their own version of the Jon Lester trade to the Cubs to demonstrate to the AL East how serious they are...but still scarred by a terrible Chris Davis long term signing ages ago that scarred the franchise.
  2. What are Luzardo/Cabrera and Chisholm worth in O's prospects? Surely you won't offer a Top 5 guy again in your system? Starts with Ortiz again, right? Don't tell us you're not a big believer in the Jazz Man?
  3. He's an 800ish OPS player for $11 million and honestly what the Sox expected to get in Benintendi...
  4. Why does that matter when the only thing Balt is worried about is having #3-4 playoff caliber starters? You're still two short. TJ recovering pitchers should never be counted on 100% in their first full seasons back, btw.
  5. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/baltimore-orioles/anthony-santander-21318/ Not exactly...UFA next year.
  6. Why would Luzardo increase in?arbitration slowly per year if so great and not constantly injured?
  7. Let’s not forget Kyle Gibson averaged 2.5-2.6 fWAR the last three years. That hasn’t been replaced, either. Kimbrel vs. Bautista will be a 3-5 net loss swing alone.
  8. Dean Kremer 3.6 career fWAR John Means 3.3 fWAR last four seasons combined Grayson Rodriguez 1.8 fWAR Tyler Wells 2.4 fWAR Total=11.1 fWAR Dylan Cease over just the last THREE years 12.6 fWAR HAHAHAHAHA
  9. Dodgers have eight to ten lol. https://www.mlb.com/news/top-10-mlb-pitching-rotations-2023 White Sox now have 2/6th’s of one of the best rotations in baseball entering last year, the Atlanta Braves, lol.
  10. https://www.linkedin.com/in/graham-harboe-08234b9a We have our own version of Elias now lol.
  11. Prior to joining the Pittsburgh organization, Silverio spent thirty-five years in the Kansas City Royals' organization, and was a coach at the Major League level for the Royals from 2003–2008.[2] Silverio has been associated with the Royals since he signed as a non-drafted free agent on November 12, 1973. Though he played in only eight games with the Royals in September 1978, he recorded six hits in his eleven career at bats. His .545 batting average is the highest in baseball history for any player who came to bat ten or more times in their career.[3] Silverio coached in the Royals minor league system from 1983 to 1989. He was the general manager of the Royals' Dominican League entry from 1990 to 1992, the coordinator of Latin American operations from 1993 to 1999, the coordinator of Dominican operation from 2000 to 2002, and player development coordinator in 2009–2010.[4] His daughter, Jennifer, is married to former Royals shortstop Ángel Berroa. Counts mentions of the Royals. SEVEN Where’s our Angel Berroa, Carlos “Dos” Febles or Alcides Escobar???
  12. White Sox need more Billy Joel concerts apparently. And Avisail was always called Baby Miggy lol.
  13. https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/19/business/detroit-lions-ticket-prices-nfl-playoffs-economy/index.html Detroit sports really on a roll…wouldn’t be totally shocking if the Tigers had a 2013 Royals late run in them. True competitors in 2025. Benetti knows exactly what he’s doing. That and chasing the ghost of Ernie Harwell.
  14. To help the frozen Snell and Montgomery markets…move closer to his target prices.
  15. Ramos looks like he could be a solid major leaguer but star is a pretty unlikely outcome…he’d have to remain at third with at least average defense and increase his power numbers into at least the 25-30 homer range. Wouldn’t count on that happening. And of course remain healthy as well. Always a huge question mark with Sox prospects. Plus he’d eventually have to beat out Henderson Mayo Urias Mateo, etc.
  16. Projected trade for Santander presents issues for teams who would have to give back major league-ready pitching…and posits the Orioles will use the first half of the season to basically assess where all their young players are going to fit. Of course, that’s going to end up lowering the value of guys like Cowser Westburg Kjerstad Ortiz Norby and Mayo if they underperform or get pushed aside by other advancing players. Moreover, dealing a veteran leader like Santander could also blow up in their faces. Of course Santander makes no sense to the White Sox unless they were going to sign and extend him…which Baltimore isn’t willing to do, or can’t afford to do. Baltimore and numerous other teams are basically stuck with Cease and all his attendant pluses and minuses as one of a dwindling handful of options.. However, lots of recent rumors flying about Cabrera and Jazz Chisholm both being on the market. Baltimore should probably go in that direction. Even though Jazz has just three years remaining and will be getting increasingly expensive. Having Chisholm and Mullins paired together would be exciting and the prospect cost would practically scare SportsGuy to death. https://www.eastvillagetimes.com/trade-with-orioles-for-santander-makes-sense-for-padres/
  17. Had an affair/fling with Miguel Cabrera’s wife while coming up through Tigers’ system.
  18. Maybe the 2014-15 Royals...where did all these ideas come from, anyway??? Omar Infante had the most at-bats at 2B, with Alcides Escobar at SS. You had Zobrist as a "mix and match" all over the diamond glue guy. Noted top pick/bust Christian Colon as well.
  19. Ironically, Kimbrel the only all-in move, and that's limited risk. The further irony is that most O's are trying to clear out the outfield veterans along with 1B/DH/util...but they're not taking into consideration all the growing pains associated with younger hitters. At least they have the concept of "getting younger/cheaper" and 2nd/3rd waves down right. The White Sox rebuild ran into a brick wall with the Burger Crochet Vaughn setbacks. Also, assuming with this next wave that they are all ready to contribute like Rutschman and Henderson is a fool's errand...that the bullpen will repeat over-performances from year to year, that the breaks will continue to go their way in such a talented division. Everyone thought the Blue Jays were going to be dominating this division 2-3 years ago...and they've been "pretty good" but hardly the dynasty that was projected with Vladdy not quite the superstar, nor Bichette/Biggio to lesser degrees (to the point they might be shopping Bichette fairly actively). Then you have the White Sox style "fading veteran" in George Springer with the TOR version of a Benintendi deal. And this befuddling set of off-season moves. The White Sox and Padres have both learned about all the things that can go wrong will go wrong.
  20. If Rodriguez actually pitches as he was projected to...in the post-season. For the time being, Eury Perez is the more impressive pitcher.
  21. That trade just improves the White Sox on the margins. No true difference makers there.
  22. He won a GG. But those days have come and gone.
  23. Cease and Getz and Boras can all politely insist. No dice.
  24. Except for unemployed former Royals players and front office staff...
