  1. Packers off to a very a very solid start in Big D. Oops calf roped Parsons.
  2. In your dream scenario where every youngster but Ortiz fits on the roster and rotates at DH...it's Holliday Henderson Westburg in the infield. Which means Mayo would be blocked. And nobody is going to acquire him to stick him at a corner outfield spot...nor will they with Basallo either. Hence, more value to other teams. But not if they hold onto him too long.
  3. Because 80-85% of his value is being a 130-140 ops+ corner (likely LF) outfielder...and only the White Sox seem to love generally one or two dimensional players. He's basically a LH hitting Hunter Renfroe. Value but not premium value.
  4. So Henderson is going there or second? You can't honestly tell us that they're going to move Holliday off that spot.
  5. I mean...Sox fans have heard for five years how easy it is to fill second and RF. Obviously not so easy for Hahn. But it shouldn't be next to impossible, either. Not even finding competence in LF is the most be cuddling aspect...that and Sheets/Vaughn/Jimenez.
  6. Westburg isn't a SS. So how is second base more of a premium? While worth more than Ortiz...he's clearly not in that first tier of talent that Baltimore would NEVER consider trading. Unless he can hit 25-35 bombs a season and play well above average defense and run well to boot?

  10. The Caitlin Clark Effect is alive and real as Iowa Hawkeyes are selling out arenas. Per University of Iowa assistant director of strategic communications Bailey Turner, if the Hawkeyes’ final six road games wind up as sellouts, Iowa will have helped sell out or break an attendance record in 30 of 32 regular season games this season. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/caitlin-clark-effect-alive-real-173046437.html
  11. Optimistically, another team would pay $35-40 million and the Sox would be on the hook for $20-25. But he’d have to start showing far more power and defense than he did in 2023.
  12. Tim Anderson didn’t have his $14 million deal picked up. $1 million buyout. Officially a FA.
  13. Who would the O’s trade from their existing major and minor leaguers to get Jackson Holliday…imagine for the purposes of this exercise that Holliday was on an expansion team starting play in 2025. No veterans in their final 2-3 years. No Urias Mateo Norby Ortiz swing pitchers or spare parts. Rutschman Westburg Henderson all eligible to be traded. Basallo Mayo Kjerstad Cowser Hall etc. The package you would be willing to offer for Holliday.
  14. More like Jerry Krause’s scouting ghost with another find in Brazil…
  15. Relying on the likes of Paxton is absolutely nuts… Still doesn’t solve the playoff rotation issue even if they manage to get through the East. Their strategy is the same as the White Sox thinking the Machado market would collapse and hold…that there wouldn’t be one other team out of 30 willing to outbid them when push came to shove.
  16. Signing Josh Hader for $100+ million would be the only thing less likely to happen than Bellinger. Or either of Snell or Montgomery for $150-200 million.
  17. There's not one next year though...if you think its Milroe or Sh.Sanders, you get similar arguments as you did/do with Fields and Penix. Watching the Dolphins tonight...Tua not being able to run vs. Mahomes makes the Caleb Williams pick feel even more obvious.
  18. You're assuming Mullins isn't the near MVP he was for one half season. Santander is a key veteran leader and WBC stud. You still need a few veteran leaders sprinkled in. There's just no way that the bullpen is as good as 2023. And it was the #2-4 guys that all excelled, not just Bautista. They have those three swing guys that can start and relieve along with Hall...but zero certainty in that #3 guy you have to have for a short playoff series. How many are betting betting their houses on Bradish repeating? But they won't desperately need to add until the trade deadline...of course, it might be too late then.
  19. Caitlyn Clark for entire Orioles' franchise...
  20. The tough replacements will be Mullins and Santander. Wild card will be Dillon Tate out for the bullpen.
  21. Despicable Chicago crowd behavior a byproduct of hubris and Michael Jordan's immense popularity and pettiness... https://sports.yahoo.com/despicable-chicago-crowd-behavior-a-byproduct-of-hubris-and-michael-jordans-immense-popularity-and-pettiness-205854522.html About as tone deaf as Clevinger signing last year...and everything's that has gone wrong with his other franchise since TLR and Kimbrel in 2021.
  22. Having at least an average major league rotation...bullpen and offense would help too. Not anywhere close pitching-wise even with Dylan Cease. Without him, likely bottom 3 in the majors and much depending on Fedde and a group of castoffs/misfits/reclamation projects rivaling the Bad News Bears. Plus Bellinger has 3-4 other teams interested beyond the Cubs.
