Dan Fabian is probably the only one left with extensive Sox institutional knowledge and experience ... Dennis Gilbert would be another. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2015/11/02/michigans-chris-getz-enjoys-royals-title-in-front-office-role/75066120/ Now I'm convinced...that it wouldn't work because they've assembled the anti-Royals in every possible way. No power...one thing in common! One had one of the very best bullpens historically in KC, one nearly the worst yet most expensive Clutch hitting versus whatever the Sox are with bases loaded Sox complete opposite of the best high contact/prototypical hit and run team Fundamentals driven vs. complete lack of fundamentals and execution Sox terrible at holding on and throwing out opposing runners...Royals much better Sox terrible to bad defensively...Royals with multiple Gold Glove winners and coaches like Rusty Kuntz that are defensive specialists

Especially with the fixation on defending a certain "SoxTalk famous" Mariners outfielder.

They would have to get permission from the Rangers to talk to him. Definitely thought he was older than 56. Only box he checks off is very singular decision maker. Nov 2022 "The Texas Rangers hired Moore as a senior advisor to general manager Chris Young last week. The Dallas Morning News reported that while Young and other Rangers personnel will be in San Diego for the annual winter meetings — where a sizeable chunk of player transactions happen — Moore will actually be in Australia (watching his son play)."

Has to be back on...full steam ahead! Chicago White Sox: Below Not only is the team bad, but also the vibes are terrible. The AL Central as a whole is truly terrible. Of the five divisional teams, only the White Sox ranked higher than 15th in Opening Day payroll. They’re spending more than the other teams, yet they’re still so bad. https://sports.yahoo.com/2023-mlb-disappointments-and-surprises-the-good-the-bad--and-the-mets-and-yankees-001700632.html

Days are clearly numbered...even out of respect for the father, he has to be 100% expunged from the payroll eventually/meaning this offseason. Otherwise he becomes a suspected in-house spy like a Cooper or Boston.

That seemed like the all-time-iest "buy low sell high trade" in history because so much of Eaton's fWAR was based on outfield assists and OBP that particular season.
-
Daryl Boston retained in any type of role... Also, wonder what happens with Katz now?
-
Chicago native Mellody Hobson seems the one driving that interest much more than George...

Bringing in Getz really is meaningless if they're going to sell. Otoh, he does nothing to increase the value of the franchise if you're going to hold. What value added or USP does he possibly possess that fans could get behind? Guys like Getz and Beckham are already negatively associated with years of under achievement as players...let alone in other roles. How could they possibly inculcate a new/positive/winning attitude as "inside" outsiders?

Then Nick Madrigal is back lol. Being a born again Christian or a member of the Fellowship of Christian athletes will be at least half the qualification for trade targets. Moore doesn't have the time and energy to invest 100% into entirely rebuilding an organization from the bottom up. Need someone much closer to 40 than 60.

Any comments from Stone or Harrelson yet? Ozzie? Big Hurt? National baseball writers with a feature opinion article like a Jeff Passan? Law?
-
What did he actually do or specialize in that would differentiate him from Hahn "assistant/disciple"?
-
Can anyone articulate ONE thing Haber is rumored to be good at...except for graduating from Stanford I guess? Getz is still WAY too inexperienced to be a GM with this imposing mountain of obstacles rising in front of him. The biggest disadvantage is that a KC and Grifol connection works more against than for him at this point.

Seems to be a done deal. Native of that area as well. Much higher salary offered...surely.

"If I can’t learn from this year, moving forward, in the face of adversity and failure, then what are we kind of doing?” Bummer told me during a recent interview. “I’m excited for being able to work through things and keep going. “We are going to right this ship eventually. It’s just a matter of when." Aaron Bummer to Scott Merkin

Ventura never wanted to be the manager in the first place. Everyone knows he was just there to deflect PR hits on ownership and the front office...taking one for the team, being a loyal foot soldier, etc. After the 2012 collapse down the stretch...Ventura never recaptured the team again as a clubhouse leader.

Current RS/RA Detroit TIgers -99 Chicago White Sox -121 KC Royals -167 Colorado Rockies -169 Oakland A's -302

More excited to tune in to KC/Oak battling for "the worst/#1 draft pick." HR for I'm Not (Named) Bob Gelof. Ned Yost going into KC Royals HoF soon, lol...no word about Pedro Grifol's fate.
