  1. Let's just see if he lands on his feet after inevitably getting dumped...Grifol will be the first to go, then Getz for attempting to copy the Royals. The claim will be that a fresh institutional approach was needed.
  2. Twins don't even sell out their season opener against CLE. After breaking the post season losing streak and actually winning a series and the Central. 35000+ plus announced...real attendance closer to upper 20s/low 30s. Cutting $30,000,000 in salary not exactly exciting the fanbase.
  3. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/caitlin-clark-surge-sustained-womens-110259094.html Forty new advertisers are buying time in the women’s Final Four this weekend with ABC or ESPN. The Walt Disney Co., which owns ABC and ESPN, confirmed to USA TODAY Sports that inventory for those games sold out earlier than ever before. Disney also confirmed that revenue from those sales more than doubled from last year and has more than tripled over the past three years. GroupM, a prominent media investment group, announced last week a commitment to double investment in annual women’s sports advertising. It plans to do it with clients such as Adidas, Ally, Coinbase, Discover, Google, Mars, Nationwide, Unilever and Universal Pictures. The ripple effect is expected to be felt across the WNBA, including in Los Angeles. As of Thursday, Los Angeles Sparks fans can expect higher ticket prices for popular events such as a game against the Fever in May that will cost about $112 to $140 on StubHub. That's a huge increase compared to last season when a Times editor purchased four tickets to see the Sparks battle the Fever in July for less than $16 total, not including tax and service fees. The Sparks ticket prices for next season are comparable or at times higher than current Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavalier tickets on StubHub.
  4. Poor Marlins...bailing out the White Sox by getting all the negative attention. 8-5 Cards. Mets just had a come back to get their first win and knock DET from ranks of the unbeaten.
  5. Getz thought so highly of Burger he let him play in a college summer league in the St. Louis area during his comeback. Burger and Sheets came up with the idea of a new hitting practice tool on their own last year, too.
  6. That would be idiotic, because the odds are Ohtani will only last 5-7 years after a second TJS/revision. He would likely have to DH at that point for fear of another tear in the OF. or play 1st like Harper.
  7. Burger with 2 homers today. Lynn got dinged up. Anderson to .276/.633 Burger .355/.981
  8. Manning out. Bullpen in...Harrison Bader broke it up.
  9. Mets in danger of falling to 0-6. Kim Ng must have none something going into the off season. Trading Luzardo would have been nuts.
  10. Burger's wife had a lot more to do with his resurgence. The rest of this list there's no point even commenting on. Our past two GMs are clearly so well regarded that everyone nearly beat down a path to their doors to offer KW and Hahn second chances this past off season.
  11. Well...this might be more interesting again than the big league game. Jonathan Cannon to attempt to stem the Tides tonight, can't go much worse than last night.
  12. Too many early extensions taking out those late twenties guys that are still in their primes...
  13. With the A's now connected to political capital Sacramento and eventually Las Vegas...you're going to see either venture capital or the gambling industry putting a lot of money into the A's eventually. Only hope for White Sox in Chicago obviously is a new stadium and change in ownership.
  14. Why didn't the White Sox just claim/sign Ramon Laureano when he was waived so they didn't have to worry about RF defensively? Then they could have at least kept Mena and pushed Sheets out...I know he's RH, but a FREE acquisition with a 750ish career OPS and most importantly a solid fielder/thrower at any spot in the OF.
  15. Something like 4 runs in 3+. The biggest problem by far was the bullpen and running Mendick out there in the first week of the season.
  16. Cole Ragans, for example, has had multiple TJS surgeries by age 26 and yet is now being considered a legit Cy Young contender. Missed all of 2018/19/20 after being drafted 1/30 in 2016, $2 million bonus. 2016-17 65 IP combined Injured 2021 81 ip 2022 135 ip 40 with Texas 2023 124 ip White Sox: Garrett Crochet is a starter “It’s a little early to use the “ace” word, but the southpaw has been truly impressive in his move from the bullpen to the rotation. This change first began as an offseason conversation between Crochet and general manager Chris Getz, with Crochet set on being a featured starter and not just a guy to take the ball for three or four innings. Mission accomplished against the Tigers and the high-powered Braves, with Crochet striking out 16 against one walk with two earned runs allowed over 13 innings. His fastball is topping out near 100 mph, while he’s incorporated a cutter to produce a four-pitch repertoire. Innings eventually could be a concern, but there’s no issue with his elite talent level.” -- Scott Merkin/mlb.com
  17. Once you clear Crochet and Montgomery…there’s not even really any obvious candidates that you would confidently place on a 2025-27 Sox team and consider for early extensions. Schultz, at some point. If he can maintain his health and continue upping his innings. There’s just no way you can justify Vaughn at this point. And that’s pretty much it.
  18. Other than Robert and Montgomery…struggling to find more than two Sox starters if you combined the active rosters and AAA teams of both organizations. And then if you were selecting just SS, you would still clearly have both Henderson and Holliday over Montgomery. Some would undoubtedly argue for Mayo over there at third (over Montgomery) if you were able to change positions to fit them all together in a lineup..
  19. Next time they'll have to throw Dom Fletcher...much better fastball, low 90's, touching 93. Or return Oscar Colas to the mound in the mid 90s.

  21. https://www.milb.com/news/norfolk-tides-score-26-runs-in-record-setting-night A feat that hasn’t been accomplished in the International League for almost 11 years… Sox contribute to MiLB headline story, but not exactly in a good way.
  22. 6 ER for Mendick. 26-11. Norfolk 29/56. Check out Holliday line. Sheesh.
  23. Revenge of SportsGuy and RolleTide. And Peyton Burdick, too. Mendick now pitching. The Matt Davidson/Leury of the Charlotte roster.
  24. At least they have Julio and a decent rotation when healthy...
