4/8 Sox @ Cleveland (4:10CT) - Banks vs. McKenzie
Do the White Sox have an insurance policy for Benintendi where they can get a good chunk of money back by convincing him it would be a good idea to stare directly at the eclipse? Maybe Eloy or Moncada might even fall for it...

Not the greatest timing with the title game tonight but he was clearly a dead man walking like Tubby Smith near the end at Kentucky…when a decade earlier he could have run for governor and probably won. That relationship was fractured beyond repair…with only the $33 million buyout keeping the tattered marriage together. Oats Hurley Jay Wright three names being bandied about. Billy Donovan back to collegiate ranks. Hope they get Oberholzer away from Ames, haha. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/replace-john-calipari-kentucky-list-133808617.html This one has Scott Drew as one of the likeliest if they can get past the buyout…

Luis Robert right hip flexor injury
He basically negotiated contracts/extensions for KC. Not sure how much he contributed (while with KC) to the eventual extension of $289 million for Witt, Jr., that was finalized this offseason.

After the White Sox debacle over the last decade, will take any form of winning I can get to take some of the sting away. Love college basketball, but haven’t watched a full NBA game since the end of the Jordan-led Bulls. Waking up to watch the games from 1 am to 530 am before work days here in China…have been doing that 4 of the last 5 weekends, haha. Will never regret it one bit because these types of sports “miracles” happen just once or twice in a lifetime (if you’re not a fair weather fan.)- Under what scenario would you consider offering Crochet and/or Kopech extensions?
If they do trade him, they’re going to chop off another 10-15% of Sox fans…and turned them to checked out, many permanently (or, at the very least, until the team is sold or a new stadium and firm construction dates are set in stone.) Selling nothing but vague hopes for the future won’t work after having fooled the fans once already…without anything left to show for it. Waiting for another top 1-3 draft pick they MIGHT blow yet again isn’t enough to sustain interest either.- Sox now 1-7, on pace for 20-142 record
Not even sure the franchise can survive five more years of this…it will seem enduringly dismal. Relentlessly so. And Luis Robert, Jr., is close to the point of having a permanent cloud hanging over his career. The only potential stars/difference-makers left to protect are Crochet, Montgomery (if he matures into 25 homer power and sticks on the LH side of the diamond) and Schultz.- Fire Pedro Grifol
Bochy closer to his last title w/ SF and in much better physical condition than TLR. Don’t recall anyone wanting Mattingly compared to Hinch or maybe Espada.- Sox now 1-7, on pace for 20-142 record
Au contraire. #5 Orioles (previously: 3). "An early warning sign for the Orioles’ vaunted young offense? They are currently ranked 29th in on-base percentage, ahead of only the White Sox. It’s in large part the young infielders off to slow starts: Jordan Westburg and Gunnar Henderson are a combined 13-for-65 so far. Just out of curiosity, let’s check and see how Jackson Holliday is doing down in Triple-A Norfolk … oh, look, he’s got a .490 OBP down there, how about that?" mlb.com- March ******* (Basketball Thread)

Gee....Pedro, didn't the same EXACT thing basically happen LAST year???- March ******* (Basketball Thread)
52-29 rebounding advantage. 18 offensive. UConn and SC for the national championship next year. Will also be interesting to watch LSU, USC and UCLA in Big Ten, Notre Dame and Texas to see how they all progress with their young leaders. For Iowa, five new freshman incoming and just getting to the round of 32 or even Sweet 16 would be a pretty significant achievement.- March ******* (Basketball Thread)
It's over...finally. Clark had to have another great game like last year and came up short. B/B- for her grade. Tired legs from Friday...forcing things, Iowa just missed way too many open shots in the third and were chasing all half to get back in it. Bad group of offensive possessions when they cut it down to 5-6 points. SC responded so well in the first quarter when Iowa exploded out of the gate and built an early 11 point lead. To sum up, too much depth, athleticism and overwhelming offensive rebounding to contend with, ultimately. Oh and 37-0 bench scoring doesn't help much, either. https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/39838971/caitlin-clark-iowa-scoring-record-legacy-college-career-ends This is how much Clark means to Iowa. Without her, they're not even listed in the Top 25 AND even honorable mention for the 2024-25 season at ESPN. 5 USC 6 UCLA 21 Nebraska 22 Ohio State 25 Illinois Honorable mention: Michigan OUT: Iowa, Indiana, Maryland, MSU- 4/7 Game thread
Poor Garrett. It's a miracle almost when the Iowa bullpen actually holds a lead. But on the road, too...even harder.- 4/7 Game thread

That doesn't mean they won't out of some stubborn irrational desire to make an example out of him for the rest of the organization.- Sox now 1-7, on pace for 20-142 record
This whole thing of fighting what are supposed to be all Sox fans and the "tone" of posting is getting tire some. It's reminiscent of WSI when everyone was mandated to post in a certain way of face being declared ersona non grata. Well...that's exactly how THAT board ended up condemning itself to the scrap heap of history, when the team's performance could no longer realistically sustain or justify such fan boy group think adoration of team/front office/coaches/minor league system/prospects, etc. At least SoxTalk retain a sense of relative objectivity. The moderators are certainly not trying to stem the current tide of discontent. Not even Southsider2k5 has the energy to continue blaming Sox fans for not supporting this ownership group for its string of poor attendance numbers for so many losing teams since 2012.- 4/6 Games
Wolkow remained in Arizona after the performance camp to get ready for Minor League Spring Training. He has learned about life away from home at the old age now of 18, and of course the game itself, with the young power hitter targeting a return to Kannapolis as his next career step. “My goal is get there as soon as possible,” Wolkow said. “If I could go [April 6th], I’ll be ready to go. Obviously, I have to trust in the decisions the White Sox organization is going to make. Go out and handle the everyday process and be the best version of me and good things will happen. It's now going to take 1 1/2 to 2 healthy/productive seasons just to rebuild his value to what it was just 2 weeks ago. And that asking price is nothing like it was nearly a generation ago for the likes of Sale Eaton and Quintana. Top 25-30 prospects just don't get traded anymore. The best you can get are formerly injured prospects or flawed guys like Cole Ragans or Burger types that are under estimated or undervalued by their original organizations.- Fire Pedro Grifol
It will be Montoyo...Jirschele or Leyland's son.- Sox now 1-7, on pace for 20-142 record
F-$@ you...you act like we are supposed to worship Sox minor leaguers unconditionally. They haven't come close to earning that privilege. Last year, didn't we also have the worst combined minor league winning percentage in baseball??? Well, Charlotte has the same exact record as the major league team right now. Getz is a joke. So are the White Sox, to the rest of MLB. We're just a complete and total punch line right now...the new feeder team for the rest of MLB. It might be even more embarrassing than the A's situation if Crochet also gets injured again this year out of a desire to impress the fans like they tried to pull with Liam Hendriks last year. We're not even as competitive as those old Washington Generals teams that lost to the Globetrotters every night. Please stop your obsession.- Tommy Pham Rumor Thread
