  1. Doubt we'll throw out two runners in one game again the remainder of the season.

  4. She'll probably blame it on the White Sox. Checks. No that contract expired at end of 2022.
  5. And Grandal will be gone. Sheets likely gone...at least hopefully. Frazier gone. So only Benintendi walks at the MLB average of 8.6% Everyone else is below. And that was 2-3 days ago so he's probably under average now even.
  6. Never get drafted in the second round by the White Sox...
  7. Maybe the Reds have another run in them? Looks like it might be Keuchel's last start ever...ERA up to 7.11 or about what we got out of Lance Lynn this year. Make that 8.10. No 9.45. Done done done.
  8. Cubs already up 3-0 in Toronto...Keuchel somehow got through 2 scoreless but now tied 2-2 with Phillies in the 3rd. Four consecutive reached.

  10. https://sports.yahoo.com/orioles-announcer-kevin-brown-addresses-suspension-ahead-of-return-to-broadcast-booth-200503232.html At least the Orioles were smart enough to realize fighting a recently re-engaging fanbase wasn't the smartest thing in the world to do.
  11. Must have been another Boyer/Merkin/Reifert brainchild to take the focus off the field...
  12. Frank Francisco...another White Sox tie. You wonder how many FA's would want to sign with the white Sox now if the reason wasn't money or Luis Robert (before he gets traded).
  13. Same question for TLR...of course he ended up causing more to question his HoF credentials in the end. Especially because so much of his legacy was reliant on the likes of McGwire and Canseco.
  14. They were at least competitive through 2010. But no...Ozzie Guillen isn't the answer. He got triggered by KW drafting/paying family members but then went ballistic when they refused to do the same for his kids. That was the height of being petty. Two egos too big to coexist at that point.
  15. I guess with ballplayer logic in play here you’d have to go after Jose Ramirez until he was down…which would spill over into more retaliation against whoever took out their franchise player.
  16. I think it depends. That Rob Fick/Weaver brouhaha early in 2000 definitely helped to propel that team forward in the first half of the season IMO.
  17. Would it be worth it to unify or galvanize the team around a "common external enemy" ultimately is the question...Grifol certainly proved incapable.
  18. Well, the argument is that the team whose player gets "knocked out" has a NATO-like responsibility to back up their teammate. regardless of the circumstances, for the sake of team chemistry.
  19. It's not the HOT list for July, 2023... Would likely have to have a 900+ OPS...right now at .858 with only 185 at-bats on the season. Also 21 years old in AA. Lower than average but not exceptionally so. The biggest issue seems to remains questions about him ultimately holding up on the defensive side at 3B. As a DH/1B/possibly 2B, that severely lowers his value (ala Burger).
  20. Kind of funny we need players on opposing teams to bring up the fact that Anderson seems to be lacking support in his own clubhouse....dating back to the 2022 All-Star Game selection show "non-reaction/anti-celebration."
  21. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/arizona-diamondbacks-held-players-only-235220453.html Many people across the league, inside and out, reacted to the fight; two MLB players, Mookie Betts and Corbin Carroll included. Carroll admitted his team, the Arizona Diamondbacks, had a meeting about the fight, discussing the scenario hypothetically for future protocol. "We had a team meeting about it. Players only," Carroll said to Mookie Betts. "Basically, we said that if someone gets knocked out on the field, there is no way that there is nothing thrown after that." The umpires seemingly allowed Anderson and Ramírez to fight, which is rare in the sport. Rarely do two players engage in fighting stances and read their opponent before tossing haymakers and an over-the-top knockout punch. But, what Carroll and the Diamondbacks jointly observed was the aftermath. "No one fought after," Carroll said. "They kind of just stood around," Betts said. "You gotta protect your boy, right?" Carroll added. "You gotta protect your boy," Betts said. The fight did indeed escalate into a multi-round brawl between both AL Central teams. Though, no one rebelled against Ramírez, as his Guardian teammates kept him untouched after the fact. Not that continuing the violence is the right solution, but Carroll's observation holds some weight. Anderson tried fighting after-the-fact, before being carried to the dugout by Andrew Vaughn. Eloy Jiménez slapped the dugout fence in anger after his foot seemingly was trampled from the brawl. Pedro Grifol also got in on the scuffle.
  22. ??? At the rate the the Sox are going, they might need to start accepting ads from Onlyfans...
