  1. They were pretty competent with Tatis, Jr., lol. Of course, the father basically marketed his son to the Sox, rather than the other way around. And ALMOST Soto and Guerrero, funny how they now get credit for finishing second and third for these big-name guys, like the thought process was absolutely correct but JR's checkbook not so much in agreement. Or we're going to be stuck with this "age scandal reverberations" overhanging for months and months, like the Wander Franco case itself.
  2. .739 OPS out of Benintendi would be right around projections. Cease and Eloy trades are the only hopes of the present...Moncada will take until mid-season at least. DeJong and Lopez likely to turn into pumpkins again as the calendar turns to April.
  3. Pitch count or my VPN is lagging? Two outs now? Fraley up...
  4. Don't even have a pitch count in the box score.
  5. Mustachioed...all the Buddhists vote yes.
  6. Biggest starts since Q right before his trade and Keuchel in G2 2020.
  7. 6/7 Picked off Benson at first after walk. 6/8
  8. De la Cruz up again in third.
  9. Robert/Cease supertrade. Lol. At least that would get them Jones. Who would promptly transform into Joe Borchard.
  10. Fletcher doing the opposite of impressing. Must be feeling the anxiety of basically being handed the RF job.
  11. "I'm Just Dylan" singing breaks out in the crowd.
  12. Homer surrendered to old friend/potential trade target Jonathan India. 5/6 outs by K.
  13. You know things are truly bad when MLB.com doesn't provide live data like balls strikes pitch location and velocity for most of our spring training games. 3 Cease strikeouts in 4 outs already...make that 4/5.
  14. As long as it's Moustakas over Sheets...all we can ask for at this point. Sigh. Maldonado. At least 2 runs scored. De Jong and Lopez continue to stand out...whatever that's worth.
  15. Current 38-124 pace would probably get Grifol fired in the regular season, right?
  16. The biggest problem with firing Grifol so soon is that their entire philosophy of promoting 2014-2015 Royals' Way with all the front office additions starts to collapse if they actually have to admit Pedro is absolutely the wrong choice for the organization...especially the "building a winning culture" aspect. Just like never admitting publicly they're in a rebuild. It's idiotic...to insult your fans with these spring training lineups day after day and continue to hem and haw about "retooling."
  17. Points for honesty, lol? Looks like he is totally out of the loop here, which you might not want to communicate to the entire world OR your own players who are supposed to trust you, ideally. Should have gone to Montoyo for a quote. Seems almost nobody in the media ever tries to talk to him. Narron was simply known for his scorecard script, considering both guys were former big league managers, but whatever.
  18. https://www.mlb.com/news/best-prospect-tools-in-spring-breakout?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage Berroa Speas Leasure get mentions for best tools...upcoming futures games.
  19. Doesn't trying harder (what else could putting the pedal to the metal even mean?) usually end up with the exact opposite of the intended effect, where letting your emotions get involved is simply going to exacerbate the problem (playing free and easy) instead of fixing it? Or he just means the first two weeks of moral victories when the team has such a putrid record are suddenly over with...that results are now starting to matter all of a sudden?
  20. Plus, it's more than likely insured, so they would be receiving 40-60% back anyway...just not sure how expensive coverage for pitchers with previous TJ surgeries would be these days.
  21. Pee Wee Reese would be more like it. Character and HoF credentials.
  22. Cooper 'errr Katz will will fix him.
