What are the odds that he falls on his own sword first? Grifol will never get another managing job (and the accompanying salary) for the rest of his life. Just like Getz/Hahn/KW ever repeating as MLB general managers...

More specifically, for not even drawing 2+ million fans or whatever it was...maybe in 2006. Of course, chopping off half the upper deck didn't help, that was a loss of what, 3500-4000 seats?

Saw a recommendation for TOKYO VICE here as well...really enjoyed it over the weekend, finished Season 1, through 6 of 10 in Season 2 already. Good stuff. Also highly recommend The Boy and the Heron if you enjoy Japanese animation. Academy Award nominee/winner by Hayao Miyazaki.

Just wait until May June July at GRF. Or non AL Central opponents.

You're absolutely right. And it's not even like Paddy has much of a choice...if you take away spreading money across numerous teenagers, you're constantly chasing older guys like Cousin, Cespedes, Yogurt Sanchez etc.

Sell him off for Cash Considerations now before it's too late. The secret is out! Upside is Olerud/Grace...not Corey Seager.

That's the consequences of cutting draft rounds/more NCAA hitters...but you'd think even with one less affiliate in the low minors it wouldn't be THIS bad.

Perpetual syndication rights to The Untouchables movie will surely outgain Vaughn career earnings from 2025 onwards.

https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/39889095/iowa-again-draws-record-ratings-final-four-win-uconn If UConn somehow loses this game, SC/Iowa is going to beat them in the ratings...which would be the first time that ever happened in history... Purdue/UConn will hold them off though, if that's the ultimate match-up. The Iowa-UConn matchup (14.2 million) is also one of the most-viewed games in any sport other than college football and the NFL over the past couple years. Last year's NCAA men's basketball title game between San Diego State and UConn averaged 14.79 million. The Hawkeyes game, which saw the audience peak at 17 million, will likely go down as one of the top 50 primetime telecasts of 2024. It would have finished 32nd on last year's list. It is also ESPN's second-highest audience for a non-football broadcast. The United States-Portugal match during group play in the 2014 men's soccer World Cup averaged 18.22 million. The last NBA game to draw at least 14 million viewers was Golden State's title-clinching victory over Boston in Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals (14.22 million).

Yes, 96-97, touching 98. Of course, it's not like Santos is doing anything for the Mariners, either. They're almost as cursed as the White Sox these days.

1.182, to be exact. I think Maton started around 700ish and has had a crazy jump from this game. (No wonder SportsGuy/RolleTide are always hyping O's prospects, they're so overinflated from facing Charlotte on the road every year, lol.)

At least both Sox and Charlotte can continue to sport matching 1-7 records after today!

Has a feel of the last day of the season with everyone having separate planes to catch back home. Last hope left is for Crochet to make it to the ASB with left shoulder still attached.

Plus Palka was a lot of fun while his moment in the sun ever so briefly shined bright.

8/9 Norfolk hitters over 1.064 ops. Worst hitter at 715 would constitute a virtual star for the White Sox.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
If they were to have a public referendum on the Sox alone...it would be 80-85% against. Even a new stadium won't fix a terrible ownership group and front office except for generating more revenue the first 3-5 years. But that's not a guaranteed long term fix, either.

Luis Robert right hip flexor injury
"The Chicago White Sox, already one of the worst teams in baseball, are dealing with the possibility of an extended absence for superstar outfielder Luis Robert Jr." As if we needed another reminder, thanks SI/ChatGPT.

https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/39882596/top-recruit-sarah-strong-commits-uconn And now UConn just signed the #1 player in the country for 2024-25. Meanwhile, Iowa has a Top Ten player nationally at Davenport North (the next year's class) who will likely end up chasing bigger money at South Carolina or LSU (see Proctor, Kadyn TWICE). But is what it is. Just like the football team...Iowa will typically rely on developing Top #40-120 players. Something like this current title chase in women's bb is unlikely to ever repeat again in my lifetime. Certainly never again in football or men's bb. So, at any rate, it was definitely a lot of fun while it lasted and a memory that won't soon be forgotten.

Jose Rodriguez Traded to Phillies for $
Going to be Norm Cash at the rate Getz is currently going, making it both an old AND increasingly bad roster.

Hannah Stuelke...she's a gifted track and field athlete and has beaten every single opponent down the floor in transition this year. Very smooth, but lacks the turnaround/fade away and 10-15 feet jump shooting skills still. She just attacks the basket and gets out in front on nearly every break. With Clark, there was another pretty clear push off against their PG who had four fools in the middle of the lane that wasn't called. That said...every single one of those UConn players was a Top 20-25 rated player nationally coming out of high school. Hannah was in the 40s. That's #2 on the roster. Kate Martin is their third most important player and won't even sniff the WNBA. Finally, Gabby Marshall is one of the best defenders in the conference and always takes the best opponents even at 5'9" to let Clark conserve her energy for offense.
