Well, the freaking SF Giants are right in the middle of the WC race with THAT roster? Heliot Ramos, Chapman and Soler are their three most recognizable players on offense. No way that Pedro would have them more than 10-15 games of .500...just no possible way. Shuster's REVENGE, lol. Actually don't mind 100% penciling him into the 2025 roster. (compared to Lopez, Soroka and Shewmake.)

Julks Benintendi and Korey Lee are the only players on the positional player side likely to be 50/50 returnees or higher. With Sheets, it feels like at least 1/4 or 1/3 odds that he will still be around, NOBODY wants to trade for him, he's one of those salaries like Brebbia, Soroka, Maldonado or Lopez that are adding little to no value and aren't part of the future. Vaughn, even higher than Sheets...they spent the entire offseason hyping it up as a "franchise-level" player and human being....then he ended up having a similar career to Gordon Beckham as yet another busted first round draft pick.

That's WHAT EVERYONE said about Sheets in 2021 and 2022...and yet here we are still. Without a RFer, still....or many left handed at-bats that will still be on the roster. If Vaughn's not going to be terrible expensive in arbitration (why would he be, he hasn't been up overwhelming numbers, nor does he play strong defense, or run at all/well???), they will go along with Andrew, as Pete Alonso's not signing with the White Sox for all the tea in China, as the saying goes.

Sosa has to be getting near the end of all that rope he's been extended... Time to give Ramos and/or Baldwin a shot to prove themselves. Neither of those guys are truly "premium" prospects by any stretch of the imagination, at least not at this point in their young careers.

You're forgetting the history of the White Sox for the last two plus decades pushing up Top 5ish positional prospects that are usually not finished products, but are considered to be so due to their time at the top level of NCAA baseball. That's almost aways been the profile before Montgomery (and Tim Anderson), not wanting to wait a full 4-5 seasons for true preps to take in contributing at the major league level.

If it's Wetherholt, someone who can stick at second. Cags, at least we finally get rid of Vaughn and/or Sheets...allowing Sox fans and front office to FINALLY move on and make a clean break with the end of Hahn's positional players in the next 4-9 months, (to go along with Moncada, Robert, Jimenez and maybe even Benintendi.) The problem is the Sox outfield future looks pretty underwhelming right now. Well, it's WORSE THAN that even.

Robert FINALLY back over the Mendoza Line, now at .206. At least .230's or .240's would be much nicer for Sox trade purposes....reversing his downward trend line.

Underestimated how "average" the Braves' offense was after the Top 3 hitters and ofc without Ozuna. Riley, Olson, Murphy, Duvall, Arcia, etc., were all much much better last season. Same with Albies having a disappointing year...Marcell Ozuna is REALLY carrying that line-up at his age, pretty astounding when he almost looked like he might end up out of baseball entirely.

And Grifol brings in arguably one of his 2-3 worst relievers on the entire roster in Justin Anderson. SIGH.

The Padres have SEVEN original/natural SS's in Profar, Merrill, Tatis, Machado, Kim, Bogaerts and Cronenworth.. The White Sox have only Robert with "up the middle capability," caveator emptor being he's not anywhere close to 100%. Moncada, ONCE UPON A TIME, was considered a generational talent. Ofc, the real problem is that you need to combine Baldwin, Jac.Gonzalez, Ramos and Montgomery into ONE PLAYER instead of 3-4 with various flaws/weaknesses.

It's almost guaranteed. "We just wanted to go with the hot hand and ride him as long and hard as possible..."

Well, at least he's worth a lot more than Julks, Pham and DeJong. Not so much pressure on him in ATL compared to NYM and Seattle. With Ozuna out now, doesn't have to constantly worry about playing opportunities, either.

at least the idea of giving intl Chinese and Indian students green cards for graduating successfully from a US college or university, (must be fully accredited, unlike Trump Univ., lol) is one of the more interesting/controversial policy ideas worth debating since 2015/16.

The only things that are worse for a film critic than following the Sox are Trigger Warning and the other relatively new Jennifer Lopez/AI film with Simu Liu and the really successful African-American actor from THIS IS US.

One prospect White Sox should demand in any trade with Dodgers, Padres or Mariners (msn.com) Should be targeting de Paula (LAD), Cole Young (Top 25 prospect, all of MiLB) or Chris Snelling (I would add DeVrieze as well, who's currently struggling at age 18-19 in Lake Elsinore (CAL League), not hitting for much XB power at all.

Well, it's hard to blame them (Elias) until he knows exactly what they have to work with the Ventura Capital/Private Equity side with the new ownership group from this spring. I mean...look at SD absolutely crippling themselves by trading for Clevinger, Austin Nola and then both Soto trades. Cease deal and Arraez deal look much better (so far). WASHINGTON is almost to the point with CJ Abrams, Gore and especially James Wood (one of top young hitting prospects in the game) that they could now knock the Padres out of the Wild Card race THIS YEAR. Could they use Josh Naylor about right now? Or Quantrill? Part of the return for Seattle (Austin Nola deal, obviously he flamed out too) is one of San Diego's top prospects, outfielder Taylor Trammell (bust). Other players included in the Mariners' haul are infielder Ty France, catcher Luis Torrens and right-handed relief pitcher Andres Munoz. (Basically, one of the studs in their bullpen and a starting caliber 1B when they...SD...don't have enough "depth" bats on the current roster). Then whoever Taylor Williams is (reliever) for Matt Brash. Another bullpen stud to go with Munoz, when the back end of Padres' pen other than Suarez is a mess. SO the reason we can't entirely fault the Orioles/Elias is because they don't have a green flag to up the payroll to $250-350 million like SD did. If you reversed/undid all those trades, you'd arguably have missed out on the 2022 NL Championship series BUT be much better positioned for 2024/25/26. You also wouldn't have had to sign Bogaerts to what now looks like one of the worst contracts in baseball at the current moment. Trading prospects to compete now (see KW philosophy) backfires more often than one would think. It's not automatic that Elias has to deal from his Top 5, and they got Burnes for one year without having to cut into their real core (granted, Ortiz has been unexpectedly good).
