Didn't seem to mess up Max Fried all that much...good god who will save the pen today? Graveman?

Benintendi .657 ops... Rays now 26-6 and AL East has all three Wild Card teams with Yoshida's Red Sox at #6. Yankees on outside looking in lol.

Could be the next Kelenic...
-
Giolito down to a 3.66 ERA. Just 67 pitches through 5.

Detroit sweeps Mets...Scherzer and Verlander. 2-0 shutout.

Wasn’t disappointed when I saw the responses to no Anderson. Apparently 6 vs. 8 games back not very significant in the overall scheme of things.

"White Sox: Jared Kelley, RHP (No. 16 Sox prospect) Kelley has lacked consistency and battled the strike zone since signing for an over-slot $3 million as a 2020 second-rounder from a Texas high school, but he does have a 92-96 mph sinker and a quality low-80s changeup with fade and tumble. He missed the first three weeks of the season with a fractured left foot before reporting to High-A, where he worked two scoreless innings with two strikeouts in his first outing." Kelley named today at mlb.com as candidate to be future Sox closer... lol... looks like Santos or Middleton much more likely. https://www.milb.com/player/jared-kelley-691721 https://www.mlb.com/news/future-closers-for-each-team-2023?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage

Colas and Sosa both in the MLB bottom ten of OPS for players 26 and under with 40 or more plate appearances. Also, feel not so encouraged Peralta the 46th ranked prospect in Sox system...

Burdi down to minors with TB acquisition of Chase Anderson from Reds... 35 year old Anderson a three inning (first career) save in initial outing backing McClanahan's blowout win.

Isn't it Samson?
-
Santos and Middleton are basically saving the entire bullpen from completely imploding...there's that I guess.
-
Craig Kimbrel, no bueno. HoF looking less and less likely at this point...
-
Certainly fellow catcher couldn't think Grandal is so oblivious he could just walk into 3rd?
-
Missed hit and run?
-
Limited lateral range and quickness... that's the consequence, losing those 50/50 balls other fielders make outs on.
-
Nick Punto Denny Hocking Lew Ford Albert Blanco... although infinitely more athletic

It expires in the next year or two... only a five year deal...the front office all must have strongly believed they could get a much better deal from the theoretical fruits of this competitive window filled with numerous playoff appearances. That blew up in their faces.
