Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
29. White Sox (previously: 29) You know how the worry about Munetaka Murakami was that he wouldn’t be able to hit offspeed stuff? Well, since he homered in his first three games, he’s 5-for-42 with one homer, four RBIs, and 18 strikeouts in his past 13 games. In that time, he has seen fastballs in less than half the pitches thrown to him, which might have something to do with it.

High ceiling players isn't the point if the White Sox can't do anything with that talent to help it reach it's potential...even the Nats have Curtis Mead looking like at least a viable big leaguer. Same thing with Tristan Grey in Minnesota, who has 11 rbi's in roughly half the playing time of guys like Murakami and Colson.

The league clearly adjusted after the first week. Time for him to adjust back. Sure he still has a better ops than Colson with all the walks recently, nut a low 700s ops 1b/DH isn't even valued at whatever low level Lenyn Sosa is as of today.

Schultz gets the call, Antonacci up too!
Bonemer #1 prospect now Peters Pereira Harris Hill Kelenic...Pereira the only one who MIGHT be around in two years. Antonacci at second base.

Other than Teel/Montgomery…but it’s fairly easy to imagine none of the other currently rostered position players still around two years from now. Antonacci feels 50/50 to me. He really should be at second to maximize his value.

Let's throw Hicks' - fWAR already in there for good measure, along with Newcomb.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
Everyone in the Central is in the bottom 6 for attendance but DET... Much likelier to subtract veteran salaries than supplement when they won't be competitive until next year and most likely the target internally is 2028. Guardians better entertainment product, better stadium and more compelling underdog story and still can't gain fraction due to a continuous series of rebuilds that disenchanted fans.

If they didn’t have the money, they wouldn’t have picked up Hicks’ commitment for a #13 prospect in Sandlin? On the theoretical open market, how much would teams bid for Acuna or Sandlin as of today? $3 million? $5 million? Certainly not more than they’re going to pay Cholowsky…then again, they’re out there on a limb on their assessment of Murakami now so maybe better to do nothing and wait for a legit shot caller. (IMO Yoshida Sasaki Okamoto Imai and Murakami got “floated up” in perceived value by the sheer transcendence of Ohtani and Yamamoto.)

Or they could have simply spent that money adding to/around Robert…if they can’t even afford to go over $100 million, why is JR holding out until 2019-34?

He just eats up defensive information... With how he doesn't hit or throw... Game will be decided by walks and wild pitches.
