  1. Absolutely not going to jinx Oneil Cruz and start him on his own thread. Kelenic's already been thoroughly ruined.
  2. Going for around $65000 each if they graded out at PSA 9 (mint) there would be a pretty dramatic falloff at 7.5 and below i'll just pretend my Nolan Ryan rookie sold in the late early/early 90's wasn't mint...that would have been in the $75-90K range today, oops
  3. the one I bought was $800 but much closer to good/very good grade than excellent also, just bid in an auction for 1954 Topps Hank Aaron 7.5 grade, near mint, gave up at $27000, winning bid was a bit over $28000 also bought an autographed Ohtani and Ichiro cards from back in Japan, like the Orix Blue Jay, that one about $500
  4. Where's Lance Lynn? No way in hell he's behind Giolito at this point...arguably I would take him 3rd over Kopech unless he can prove down the stretch drive he's 100%.
  5. Just sign Conforto, Nimmo, etc. No way they're going to trade TA7 at this stage.
  6. How many "prospects" have FutureSox writers fallen in love with? What percentage have actually succeeded with the White Sox....maybe 5-10% at the very most. I'd say 5-7% is much closer to the reality than anything like what the Guardians are pulling off so far. Trevor Stephan a 3rd round pick of the Yankees. Emmanuel Clase - Wikipedia Padres picked him originally, gave him up in a terrible trade, as did the Texas Rangers as well. Sam Hentges a fourth round pick out of ARK. Enyel De Los Santos - Wikipedia PItched for two MLB teams previously. Eli Morgan an 8th round pick out of Gonzaga. Konnor Pilkington a 96 OPS+ 2022 Cleveland Guardians Statistics | Baseball-Reference.com Top four pitches on the team are all young/er relievers ranging from 349 (Clase and Jhoan Duran arguably the two best young relievers in the game, along with Omar's Coming on the Orioles)...then the other three names I mentioned are all 124-138. In fact, only disappointment is a veteran in Shaw who's terribly underperforming and on his very last legs as an MLB pitcher in all likelihood. Just those 5-6 guys alone right there is enough to break the balance or stalemate between daily line-ups and starting rotations pitching on fumes in the case of CLE.
  7. Ask the sliding Brewers. 3 GB. Otoh Manaea and Clevinger will be available at a discount on the FA pitching market.
  8. They have to be tied or leading go into the final 9 games. Minnesota now faces their long-time nemesis in the New York Yankees with Judge on an almost unreal tear.
  9. White Sox hope to ride momentum from strong week (mlb.com) “Yeah, it’s been fantastic. Everyone playing for the team, playing for each other,” said White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito, who suffered the loss Sunday. “If one guy doesn’t get the job done, the next guy steps up and we have full confidence he’ll get the job done. So, just having that mentality coming together as a team. If we keep that up, we’ll put ourselves in a good position.” “We play the way we played this week, watch out,” said White Sox acting manager Miguel Cairo, whose team fell to 6-7 vs. Minnesota this year. “We’re going to have a pretty good chance, and the guys are excited about going out there. But it was a good game today. We battled back. We gave it our best and fell short."
  10. Miami Marlins: Looking Back at the Alex Vesia Trade (marlinmaniac.com) Here's a great example, Rick Hahn. The Dodgers just go out and scour the world. We don't have a prayer of replacing Crochet and Bummer. Heck, even KW was great at digging these guys up from the dead, the likes of Jenks, Sergio Santos, Marte, Thornton, Crain, etc.
  11. Obviously, the Guardians don't. Whereas young Sox players other than Vaughn have hardly managed to hit their way out of a paper bag. Particularly Sosa.
  12. MLB Playoff Odds | FanGraphs Baseball Guardians still the slight favorite over the Twins due to those last against the Royals in the final week. Whereas the White Sox have a quite difficult final nine.
  13. Can't believe that the Guardians/Mariners are still playing. These teams will be a pain in the butt during the postseason....unless it's Twins/Yankees.
  14. Ron's quest for more likes and emojis is definitely going to be curtailed. I like that all the comments (particular icon choices are categorized). But that whole popularity contest aspect isn't as prominent. Not sure how Fathom and Southsider2K5 will feel as they were dueling for top spot the last year or two. If they did a statistic of likes/post, I would undoubtedly be Bottom 3-5. At any rate, it looks much better. Like SoxTalk is selling a new range of Lexus e-vehicles or something more new-agey. Can there be a stat for highest number of posters reported to Moderating Team, lol? And who has the most reports about their posts, haha.
  15. Dylan Bundy was just $1.8 million, recall Chris Archer being in the Cueto range but not prorated over 135 days out of 180.
  16. Just like the Sox have 109 wins in them...seems pretty unlikely at this point.
  17. We thought it was 2012 again, with the Sox playing the role of the Tigers vs. the upstart rookie-laden Sox played by CLE/MIN. 2003 Chicago White Sox Statistics | Baseball-Reference.com Look at the fifth starters' numbers for 2003, it was Wright, Stewart, Cotts and Porzio. Mike Porzio was far and away the best of those four. Compare those numbers to Kenny Rogers, who the White Sox could have affordably signed. This year, we have Cueto (19 starts), Velasquez (8 starts), Keuchel (8 starts), Davis Martin (5 starts), Lambert (2 starts), Kelly (1-2 starts), etc. Compare to what the Twins have quite cheaply gotten out of Bundy (especially head to head vs. the Sox), Archer, Ryan (trade for Nelson Cruz), etc.
  18. Bundy just owns the White Sox. They would be winning the division if they just chose him over VV. Dylan Bundy/Salary (2022) 1.8 million USD
  19. what about Ozzie doing the 10-12 or whatever Spanish languge broadcasts? wonder what the Q scores are for those, haha? can you get access to that information, in terms of how many Hispanic listeners the Sox actually have? what about radio affiliates in Cuba? they should control/dominate that entire market, but you never ever hear anything about it.
  20. Wasn't he the 30th ranked prospect at the beginning of the year? We spent page after page after page worrying about Adolfo, and he was irrelevant, especially compared to Luis Gonzalez. Otoh, the one who made the most impact was Burger and Martin. Even Lambert would probably be ranked third.
  21. Strength of schedule for 2022 playoff contenders (mlb.com) But Guardians and Twins the two clear favorites according to projection models MLB Playoff Odds | FanGraphs Baseball 2022 MLB Predictions | FiveThirtyEight

  23. Here is the full list of autographs. Because I'm all about the lists, lol. I'm considering Malcolm X and Jim Morrison today, haha. Hoover Mantle James Monroe Harry S. 24. Unprecedented financial flexibility. Multiple World Series championship window of at least 3-5 years, if not longer. Worst division in baseball, and it's not even that close with NL Central in all honesty for the very bottom Other four are so much better. And last playoff series win was 2017 or 2016 Indians/Guardians.
