  1. https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/stats/_/id/32697/lucas-giolito Look at Giolito’s WHIP over the last four seasons. 1.49 entering today. That would be the worst in the majors, behind Lyles, Keller, Marquez, Bumgarner, Freeland, Marco Gonzales, Flexen.
  2. Doubt it. Giolito would be fourth from the bottom in qualified MLB ERA leaders…he’s right around the cutoff for IP. Berrios is by far the worst, Marquez, Keller/KC, Giolito, Manaea, Kyle Freeland.
  3. Rodon 6 2 1 1 2 11 ND https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2022&month=0&season1=2022&ind=0 Tied with Alcantara at 4.7 fWAR. Gausman 4.4. Verlander 4.3.
  4. But Harrison has been at least major league average for two months. And plays above average defense and seems to be a solid leader/clubhouse guy…compared to the likes of Pollock or Grandal or Moncada. Nobody would have counted on two consecutive Moncada game winners. And guys like Engel and Jimenez had their chances as well. You should never surrender two stolen bases and a lead like that when there’s such a high correlation between winning and scoring first (Guardians 48-17 in those situations this year…of course they have a large share of home comebacks as well, particularly against the Twins.)
  5. And that was a bullpen game mostly without Mahle. Tigers have given the Guardians fits this year, fwiw. Sox would be dead in the water without Detroit.
  6. Keith Law had the Guardians system as 8th or 9th entering the season and they picked a kid in the middle of the first round who is only their 7th best prospect now. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/guardians/ They have used 15 rookies this season but only four guys in their Top 15 so far…Nolan Jones, Tyler Freeman, Arias and Xzavion Curry just had his first start this week. #9 Logan Allen is gone, fwiw. Five best prospects yet to debut, including Josh Naylor’s brother at catcher, Bo. https://www.mlb.com/news/guardians-2022-draft-signings-tracker Campbell and Messick look like quintessential Indians’ pitching prospects of yore. Bottom line, they have McKenzie, Quantrill, Clase and Karinchak, with Shane Bieber for at least two more seasons. Amed Rosario is the only major free agent after NEXT season, but the strength of their system is up the middle athletes who could also play in the outfield.
  7. Will be shocked if the Guardians don’t win the division after a rally like that. Started with a wild pitch/passed ball on what should have been the third out of the inning and at least a 4-2 Tigers’ lead to the 9th. Every single ball that inning…I think it was five or six hits with two outs, was a total fluke. I guess Oscar Gonzalez’ was sort of well hit because he yanked it off the wall (uncatchable by Baddoo) but he was way off balance in the box. Then you have Mahle likely out for the Twins now. https://www.mlb.com/guardians/video/guardians-6-run-rally-in-the-8th The next Michael Brantley?
  8. Grandal not exactly the quickest bat for this type of pitcher. Need prime Konerko.
  9. Too much to expect three nights in a row. 99 mph.
  10. Brilliant job by the Tigers' pen. Well, expecting them to take three in a row was a bit much. But 5-6 hits in a row with two outs in the bottom of the 8th? Wow. Team that scores first Tigers/Guardians now 16-3 and Guardians 49-17 when they score first in a game.
  11. Haha. I do remember one from way back in the day after the Posey rule was imposed. Pretty sure Tyler Flowers and especially Hawk Harrelson went absolutely ballistic that time.
  12. https://mobile.twitter.com/JomboyMedia/status/1559683632314417152?s=20&t=ILXTa9_etztyd5RAxFNIIA Crazy thing is team was already back in dugout assuming a 0-0 score. 1-0 with overrule, then quickly 3-0 deficit on a Kerry Carpenter homer.
  13. Then it comes down to his perception about best fit and potential playing time. And partnership with Harrison perhaps.
  14. Sure but quite a few don't consider the sixty game WS series winner as legit, or individual awards. Asterisk season***. The irony being that's the one year LA actually won despite being arguably the best MLB team of the decade. Either LA or HOU.
  15. It's not like Leury gets a lesser amount of money on the IL. Guess it's TLR's way of saying he's confident Leury will work hard to get back quickly.
  16. Altuve Admirer contributed to comeback as well....merits banner consideration. Plus orange would juxtapose with black.
  17. Wonder how many women in the country have an Altuve or Moncada top like that? Looks almost homemade or home-designed. Probably back in the 90s nearly the entire team would have assumed she was a groupie trying to hook up. Now it's just as likely she was simply attempting to go viral/aka break the net, lol.
  18. How many contending teams would consider Andrus an upgrade?
  19. Snooze or smooze? One thing I will say is Benetti seems like a genuinely decent human being. Stone seems like the type who might get fired for fighting at dinner with one of those know it all fan types who wants to provoke a confrontation with a media celeb to expand his followers on social media.

  21. Heard that Robert got sick from his commercial/econ class flight back and forth from not playing in Charlotte...
  22. Kike Hernandez another prime example in past years.
