  1. Duncan will work in concert with Dan Fabian, Matt Koenig and Daniel Zien in a baseball operations department that has beefed up its analytics, ...pretty sure the other was a young woman that either was an intern or full hire. https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2021/1/13/22229032/white-sox-shelley-duncan-relishing-new-role
  2. The White Sox? We can't even successfully determine whether a player needs to be ILed more often that not. Whatever's going on, there is something off with his leg drive/explosiveness to the plate. Giolito has always been the pitching equivalent of a Konerko or Quentin, he's way too much in his own head and overly analytical/hard onhimself.
  3. Madrigal finally up to nearly a 600 ops with 3/3 so far...over 700ish for career.
  4. CLEVELAND, Ohio — When Xzavion Curry took the mound in the second game of Monday’s doubleheader for the Guardians, he became the 14th player this season to make his big league debut with Cleveland. That ties Cleveland’s 2002 squad for the most debuts in a single campaign over the last 100 seasons. In 1922, Cleveland had 16 players debut. The Guardians have had more major league debuts than any other club in 2022. Four teams are tied with 12 debuts, including Pittsburgh, Oakland, Kansas City and Baltimore. Curry’s debut occurred in the Guards’ 116th game. Only three major league teams since 1917 have had more debuts within their first 120 contests: Miami (18 in 2020), the Yankees (15 in 2015) and the Brooklyn Dodgers (15 in 1944). Despite the influx of young talent, Cleveland remains in first place atop the American League Central Division, seven games over the .500 mark at 62-55. The Guardians will be the fifth club in MLB history since 1902 to have a winning record through 120 games while having 14 or more players make their debuts. Manager Terry Francona says he’s having fun going through the ups and downs of a season -- and a division race -- with the young group. “It’s gratifying when guys learn not just how to act, but how to work, and how to not just survive, but how to thrive,” Francona said. “We never want to lose a game, but if you sit back and think about it, they probably have to in order to take steps. That’s probably fair.” Fun fact: Arias became the first player since at least 1901 to reach base via an error in each of his first two career plate appearances. Thank you, Tim Anderson. https://www.cleveland.com/guardians/2022/08/ranking-the-cleveland-guardians-14-rookie-debuts-in-2022-so-far.html
  5. How much money did JR make off you, in total?
  6. You too. Going to bed anyway JR wouldn't care enough about the White Sox to follow them at 3:52 am on a work night.
  7. No it was Cueto lol. Hahn Spin. Except VV Martin Lambert replaced Keuchel and 1/2 season of Lynn. Plus Kopech of course.
  8. How many playoff appearances would the Sox have had if Francona got the job when Bevington took over in 95 for Lamont or more recently when he took CLE job after Boston? Would LaRussa and 15 rookies really be leading Francona's Sox? Impossible to imagine. Of course, the Guardians would never be dumb enough to hire Tony in the first place.
  9. Only 1 game off White Flag margin from nearly a quarter century ago. How times haven't changed. Well except Jacobs/Progressive selling out season after season after season.
  10. For Davis Martin? Why not? As long as VV doesn't get them. Even Lambert would be better but no longer stretched out for that.
  11. And the Boston/Patriots' Day Massacre last year. Houston must have decided they care about HFA this year again.
  12. You're going to eat $70 million on him and Grandal? You still have Kelly Leury Lynn and Pollock, not to mention Hendrics.
  13. Fire Tony chants again? Lucky it's not a more highly charged night game atmosphere.
  14. Plus CLE gets off day after an emotional series and six in a row at home against KC to end the season.
  15. At least we lead in one category. Most inefficient allocation of Free Agent salaries for fWAR. Cueto might help them avoid bottom three, but that move and Rodon in 2021 were hardly planned. Maybe after thoughts work better than Hahn thinking or more likely over thinking.
  16. At least JR had these last three games to make some decent profits. Will be quite fortunate to get a $165-170 million payroll next year. Fans are not going to stand for running things back out there with LaRussa again. Seems almost sado masochistic.
  17. He is now back to being one of the worst performances in baseball again but lacking 94-98 mph stuff. Change just doesn't work as well off 91-93 as it does mid to high 90s with 12-15 mph differential.
  18. The Indians and Orioles might put them out of their misery pretty quickly. Went from looking like a first place tie was possible until the 8th inning in both CLE and Chicago to this. Not shocking or surprising to most observers, of course.
  19. Exactly the same amount pretty much nobody is excited about spending on AJ Pollock. Or $13 million if he hits his PA incentives correctly.
  20. Yeah that works a lot better with Cease, Kopech or even Cueto pitch-ability.
  21. Baty is clearly a more advanced prospect, though. Colas basically had 2-3 seasons off.
  22. His stats have been on a consistent decline from 2019...but especially this year. So has his fastball velocity, WHIP, inability to be effective with curve balls or sliders, etc. What is your solution?
