QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 09:35 AM) I would like to get a scouting report on Upton in CF. If he is capable, I would give up a ton to get him. This doesn't say much about what is specifically wrong with Upton, it just states he can't play defense. http://tsf.waymoresports.thestar.com/thest...player.cgi?3181 He could be a center fielder for the Sox though. However we'd have to give up a ton for him so I don't think this is a practical idea. If we ever did get him I'd poop my pants.

How bout, Uribe (4.5 Million) and AA-AAA going nowhere pitcher to the Cardinals for Braden Looper (5.5 Million [plus up to 1 million in incentives])

QUOTE(greg775 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 12:01 AM) Me too. Our GM is an idiot. Wait ... he won the World Series. My god, his trades suck so bad. I mean Garland is an inning eater and can pitch. And we get this??? Unfricking believable. GM's must KNOW that KW is in love with the guy he wants to acquire and they just abuse him when making the deals. You really should hear what people outside of Sox fans think about Garland, a strong majority feel that we got the better end of this trade. Garland did get 36 wins in 2 years but he definitely did not do it on his own. The offense gave him a ton of those wins when they should have been losses. If you wanted Garland for Furcal you pretty much just got it, just a few less walks, but you have a good SS with experience in the AL unlike Furcal who's accustomed to weakling NL pitchers.

Nothing yet on this, the Score doesn't seem to have anything say.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 02:09 PM) Now Buehrle needs a new best friend. The real question will be who steps up there. Heads, thats the first thing I thought when I heard that Jon was gone.

This is a decent deal. Uribe will go to the Cardinals.
-
I'll second that wacky idea.
-
haha, yeah that's the second thing I saw on there, where's the cutter! It's still is cool for what it has though. And it clearly shows Uribe's attempts yet inability to make contact on the slider way out of the zone.

I don't know if this was posted already, but this guy has a database of all of MLB's tracked pitches. So you can see where Buehrle through all of his changeups (outside) and which ones were hit and where. You can also see what pitches hurt or helped batters. The database doesn't work perfectly, but its still cool. http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/...-pitchf-x-tool/

He's the one that should have had Andy Gonzalez's spot on the roster.

Rolen has a complete NTC http://www.mlb4u.com/profile.php?id=424 -
Rowand is way overpriced too, its not like he just put his stats up in the American league, it was AAAA, I'd expect from him what he gave us when he was on the Sox, is that worth 13 mill? Lets keep JO in Center.

He did use the word, "lesser." -
Its not like he's a pitcher, but he did have surgery in August, on his elbow. http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/sb20070814h1.html

Yes twinkies also, I bet he injected his steroids right into his huge fanny. Helps him stick his butt out when he bats and also make poops at a rapid inhuman rate.

Fields' first 5 games in LF were atrocious, but I felt like he was picking it up a little better as he gained more experience there. He didn't seem that bad toward the end of his time there.

Chad Qualls for Ryan Sweeney was talked about...
Marky Mark replied to AWhiteSoxinNJ's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
I don't think the NL to AL pitching ERA rises as much for relievers as it does for starters because NL starting pitchers are going up against pitchers 2-3 times in a game where as a reliever rarely pitches against a pitcher, but instead against a somewhat better pinch hitter. -
I bet Juan Uribe has had his fair share.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 12:42 PM) Well, those were his first 53 games. Not a great stat to show considering his regression the next full season. Yeah, I put Joe's rookie numbers down not to show that Crede is good, but fearfully that Fields may not be quite as good as we hope.

Joe's rookie stats .285 .311 .515 .826

Lets just resign Lance Johnson.

During the season Scott Reifert, the vice president of communications, spends a lot of time with the players, asking them questions and talking with them. He can be emailed at [email protected]. Other than that I have no clue. I believe somewhere along the line Ozzie's email address was out in the public and he was reading the mail that people were sending him. Someone on here probably knows it. But if you want Andy Gonzalez to know he's awful I bet he already knows.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 10:58 AM) Sort of and not really. It's quite mysterious, really. For example, in this year's rankings, A-Rod wasn't ranked as the best player -- I believe it was Ortiz. It's a clusterf*** of a system that needs to be fixed, as crappy middle relievers like Scott Linebrink get two picks and average starting pitchers like Jon Garland are somehow only type B's (which don't give compensation anymore, IIRC). Where are these rankings posted?
