When we traded Olivo I thought it was a big mistake, I thought his bat was just about ready to come around. It appeared he'd be a great catcher featuring a fantastic arm, decent power and decent speed. Then we won a world series and I forgot he was ever on the team.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 12:23 AM) kimbo got exposed but we all knew that was coming. but EXC didnt expect Thompson to be the one to expose him. Thompson's ear looked so gross before and after the fight. Made me cringe everytime they showed it.

We already have been holding back Fields this year, probably don't need to block out his whole career.

His account is deleted. What's this about Regier? I never read what was said about that part.

To anyone or admin that knows, why was Bureau's account and that topic deleted? Did I miss something? The last topic about Wilder that Bureau was writing in was completely deleted too, what happened?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 30, 2008 -> 03:29 PM) One worry - he's listed at 6'2" and 170, which is pretty skinny. Or, per MiLB.com, he's 6'3" and 180 - still skinny. And here's a really bad pic of him. I wouldn't worry about that too much, Milb.com is not very accurate with their heights and weights. There's a guy (Matt German, the former closer for Northern) who's about a normal size (6 foot, 185-190 pounds) and Milb has him listed at 6'8" and 240LBS. Who knows where they make some of the sizes up. Not even close

Why even read the newspaper? There's nothing that you can't find faster and easier online. -
Reason to Suspect Quentin is Using Illegal Substances
Marky Mark replied to Chet Lemon's topic in Pale Hose Talk
PED is so common in baseball that there is no reason for people to even write articles making accusations, or for people to write responses in defense of a player. PED's existence in baseball should probably just be accepted since it will never stop. -
QUOTE (fathom @ May 21, 2008 -> 05:02 PM) Here's the information I was told. I'm not saying the other stuff out there is false, just repeating what I heard. Wilder and company were responsible for negotiating with players that were going into the minor leagues. They would come up with a price with the player, and then when they went to KW, Hahn, etc., they were stating a high price than what was agreed upon. Thus, they would get the higher price, and they were keeping the money that they prospects didn't know about. That and now our player development staff has to sort out who belongs where in our minor league system since Wilder got guys promoted to justify his signings.

GREG NORTON. "Norton, you're the greatest!"

Here he is! http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...=MLB&id=888 EDIT: I just saw this was already noted in the Pale Hose section.

Yeah, Williams needs to step up here. Either Boone and Bobby cut that awful beard, or let Buehrle go back to his tarp-sliding days.

Good to see all those familiar names in Winston Salem tonight. Will Shelby be the man this year? We'll see!!!!
-
Yeah, no hurry on him since he's signed out of HS.

As long as the team is hitting well, I have been loving Uribe at 2B. It makes me very confident in our infield and I love seeing his canon on plays like tonight where he prevented the triple. If only he actually could hit like April '04.

Alright, we're through our rotation for the first time, what's been best so far?

I'm goin with Jorge Julio. The awful pitcher who always seems to find a job where he can continue his career of failure.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 03:55 PM) Darin Erstad, Luis Terrero, an injured Scott Podsednik, an injured Alex Cintron, an injured Joe Crede, an injured Toby Hall, Andy Gonzalez, Gustavlo Molina shared some 1316 at bats last year. The team also tried out several rookies, including Richar, Fields, Owens, and Sweeney, who were raw but getting their first real taste of MLB pitching. And on top of that, Jermaine Dye was hurt for half the year and had a down year, AJ Pierzynski had a down year, and Konerko had a down year. The only 2 people on our team with batting averages of .275 or better were Thome and Mackowiak. Simple regression to the mean for half these guys makes this offense better. Giving at bats to Swisher, Quentin, A-Ram, Anderson, instead of Pods, Erstad, Terrero makes this offense better. Joe Crede hopefully not being in pain makes this offense better. The team being deep enough to give Dye days off if he needs them makes this offense better. If Andy Gonzalez was still starting on this team I don't think I could watch the Sox games anymore. Have fun with him Indians.

QUOTE(scenario @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 11:28 PM) Keep in mind that last year at this time, nobody had a clue who DLS was. Yep. I hope that happens again, threefold.
