  1. So why has Jack been having so many awful games this year? Not recovering well from injury or is AAA just to hard? I expected much more from Egbert this season.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 09:16 PM) Also, has any team given more shaving cream pies than this year's White Sox? I feel like its Toby Hall who is always doing it. I get the impression he's the kind of guy in the clubhouse who seemed funny for the first two weeks of the season but slowly everyone gets tired of his repetitive actions, but he has no clue that everyone hates him. Just a guess. Or maybe he should just lose 20 pounds.
  3. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 11:04 AM) Thought this would be a fun little task, so go for it... So this is how it goes: has to be a current minor leaguer, recent Sox draft pick or current major leaguer. C - A.J. Pierzynski (He'll be 35, but I think he'll still be the catcher, showing no signs of wearing down yet. Plus, nothing in the Sox organization screams starter at catcher) 1B - Nick Swisher (great D, great personality, he will hit enough and Sox cult hero) 2b - Gordon Beckham (Sexi lexy forces him to second base where he is a all-star) SS - Alexei Ramirez (might never put up MVP numbers, but will be a solid starter for a while) 3B - Juan Silverio (super stud will move to 3B as Alexei is at SS, if he can play SS, he can probably be a third baseman, arm strength no problem here) LF - Carlos Quentin (Stud, no need to say more) CF - Jordan Danks (I am assuming he signs, which is clearly no guarentee, but he has the tools to be a Grady Sizemore-type player if he develops, but still should be a solid starter and great defender) RF - Jose Martinez (probably the best offensive prospect the Sox have, he could be great or dissapear and never be heard of again, but I am guessing he will succeed) DH - Brandon Allen (Debated Dye here, but he will be old, Allen is a DH prospect who will hit for HRs, okay average and strikeout a ton. Ryan Howard developed late, too. Just saying...) SP - Danks (lefty will be the Sox ace for the next decade) SP - Floyd (he is learning to pitch still, but he is still a very good looking youngster) SP - Poreda (Won't develope into an Ace, but his fastball and enough secondary pitches make him a solid mid-rotation starter) SP - Buehrle (still holding down the fort) SP - Harrell (toughest pick for me, no one in 08 draft intriguied me enough, Richard would be the fourth lefty and I don't think he will be a great ML starter and Harrell is still coming back from his surgery, but he is a groundball machine with good stuff.) CL-Jenks (still going strong) Thoughts? Suggestions? Your own 2012 White Sox? A few changes. At first base instead we have this no namer called Josh Fields. I don't think Silviero will make it to the bigs, but I'm not sure who from the current organization would take third. Dye at DH, Kent Gerst at RF. Poreda will be a left handed set up/specialist out of the pen. At catcher we brought back Sandy Alomar to help get Buehrle back on his game. I think Danc'n Lance Broadway will surprisingly been are rotation by then instead of Harrell. Everything is pretty close to what I'd say.
  4. what do you mean by "draft and follow" ?
  5. I feel like the chances of Thome having a good year (95+ RBIs and a .400+ OBP) are not as good as the chances of him having an injury plagued year while making his full salary. However, if we can't find a "better" option, than there's no point in refusing to pick up the option. I do hope we decide not to pick up that option though, I've grown too tired of the strikeouts, and Thome isn't going to all of a sudden get a lot better, only worse.
  6. LOL, Oney's gotta be the worst player in the whole system. But yeah, maybe its just a matter of making room.
  7. QUOTE (soxfn4life @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 09:31 AM) If you tell me what game the soundbite is from i could record it from mlb.tv. If you can record soundbytes then can you record Hawk claiming Jim Thome's homer as "over 600 feet" ? What program do you use?
  8. The David Cook enthusiasm has definitely picked up on this site since he came up to Charlotte. I just wish he wasn't so old. Can anyone speak for him on behalf of his defense? I have no idea what OF positions he even plays, nor how good he is at it.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 09:52 AM) Hawk - "Reggie is a good looking young ball player. I'll tell ya what Fiesty, if we get this kid, Greg Walker will turn him into Mr. October." D.J. - "Reggie Jackson?" Hawk - "Ya datgum right Reggie Jackson. They're both Reggies right?". Hawk - "I'll tell you again Fiesty, if I were still GM, I would of traded Ozzie Guillen and John Danks for that kid already. I have so much confidence in Walk that I know Wilits will be the most clutch hitter to ever graze this field." 30 seconds of silence. Yeah Hawk would be calling Reggie's 600 foot home runs like Jim Thome in no time.
  10. 13 RBIs in 5 games......ehhh mediocre.
  11. QUOTE (Felix @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 09:40 AM) You don't understand. Anyone related to any of the coaches/personnel with the Sox has to suck. There's no other choice. Just ask Oney Guillen. He's made sure of that.
  12. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 08:16 PM) Poreda with a great start. 6IP, 5H, 0R, 1BB, 6BB. Make that 1 BB, 6 Ks
  13. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 19, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) Kenny Williams Jr.- $150,000 It must be nice to get 150,000 K because of Daddy! This burns my ass how we wasted this selection! Didn't Kenny say he didn't want to draft his son, but the staff wanted to instead? Of course that is probably a major form of butt kissing.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 10:10 PM) I disagree- Andy Gonzalez was the worst player last year, and the worst player baseball has EVER seen. Correct. Just thinking about Andy Gonzalez makes me shutter. To this day I am still very confused as to why Bourgeois stayed at Charlotte and we had Gonzalez starting up here.
  15. I just feel like I'd like him more if he didn't look like such a fatty.
  16. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jun 17, 2008 -> 09:24 PM) Hopefully we sweep these guys to get back on track and go into the with some momentum.
  17. I'm one of those fans that doesn't want dicks on the team. I don't want Cabrera resigned after this year. He still seems like he doesn't hustle now either.
  18. QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 11:34 AM) Time to make some friends. Right now the only commercials that really get under my skin are the terrible "sign" commercials the Sox are running. Agreed, I hate the Sox commercials that are out right now with the signs, they just aren't funny. Also Subway was on a roll a few years back for making terribly annoying commercials, especially the ones with John Levitz. Man I hated those.
  19. How did I miss that we drafted Kyle Long! I do hope we are making a significant attempt to restore the farm system.
  20. QUOTE (Cubano @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 04:37 PM) Tell GM Williams if Contreras and Ramirez have not. He is using the same agant as those too. Puerto Rican agent Jamie Torres. He is only 19 years old. He can play 3B, SS, outfield and he can throw 90 + MPH. He used to play for Yuniesky Betancourt and former big leaguer RHP Rolando Arrojo team, the Villa Clara Oranges. He is ahead of more 19 years old. Llego Dayan Viciedooooooooooooooo! Height: 1.83 meters Weight: 92 Kilograms http://www.elnuevoherald.com/167/story/222430.html Viciedo in SS and Alexei in 2B will be a good combination for the Sox. He said that he wants to play for the Yanks but I think it is just a money thing. If the White Sox offers the right amount, they can get him. Are you Dayan Viciedo?
  21. Remember the Eagleman days? "IIIIIIIIIIIIIII've got something for youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!" It was like the director of those commercials told everyone to speak as if they were in slow motion.
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 10:41 PM) True. I hate him as much as the next guy, but I'd love to see him pitch against us, we rock him in like 2 innings, he can't throw a strike, and then the fans mock him, and he has another hissy fit. I would laugh so hard... I agree, I wish we could face him so we can watch him stomp around out there like a 4 year old once he screws up.
  23. LOL Hawk calls it 600 FT. Not that long hawko
  24. It is much better sitting outside than inside. You have to pay for all your food in there too. I don't know the answer to your question though.
