  1. I'm surprised no one's voted for Aardsma, he got really bad really fast. Yo-ho-yo-ho a pirate's life for me!
  2. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 09:13 AM) DLS, Carter and Miranda will be on there, I'd bet. I don't think Shelby will make it, though he is still a prospect worth keeping an eye on. To whoever has it, does a baseball america subscription feel worth your money?
  3. The nipples on the guy in your signature make me want to puke.
  4. Does anybody know who is in charge of when and which players get promoted and demoted through the system throughout the year? I would assume this is a decision that is made by more than just one person, but perhaps by several when the time is right. Anybody know?
  5. Who would you have rather had on the White Sox this season, Josh Beckett or Bobby Jenks? I'd take Beckett's numbers.
  6. For those of you who have done weed, did you find it addicting?
  7. I think Kenny Williams should have been graded before the season, not after (unless you count midseason trades). He did get rid of Garcia, which is what many wanted, he got what should have been a better backup catcher which we needed. The problems he created were that he stuck with podsednik which is kind of like the cubs sticking with wood and prior, plus Williams went with a young bullpen instead of a proven vet pen. He also resigned Javy which many of us thought was stupid, but it turned out to be good for this year. I feel like before the season started that's how I felt, he address some big problems, but had some holes and took some risks that may not pay off, so I definitly wouldn't have given him an F, probably a C. You can't say that he should have expected Konerko to be hitting .258, Dye to have an average in the .250s, Ozuna to wind up breaking, and for everyone in Cintrons family to wind up dying. He could have suspected injuries from Crede and Thome, but with Crede he knew Fields was ready and Thome's too good to get rid of even in case he does get hurt. Did you guys give Kenny an F before the season started? I didn't. I didn't give him an A either, but I don't think it appeared as if he ruined the team before it all even started.
  8. Personally, I feel it is Andy Gonzalez without a doubt. The guy should not be up here, and I'm angry we didn't get to see Jason Bourgeois. But then again I may be saying this because the bullpen issues were months ago and have kind of faded in my mind but man they were horrendous.
  9. How Does Buehrle not get an A? His amount of wins show no sign of what kind of season he's had.
  10. Remember when Joe Borchard hit the longest home run ever in Comiskey at 504 feet? I was thinking about that and wondering if that ball landed past the seats and into the walking area or concourse or whatever its called. Does anyone remember? PS- I was furious that such a failure like Borchard set that record.
  11. Yeah Richar will be fine at 2B, when moving up to a new level players don't always take off right away, some start out slow and make the adjustments to get where they need to be. Richar was a little slow when he moved up to AAA this year, but he made his adjustments and was hitting .325 in June, and .355 in July. I can see him being a very solid replacement for Iguchi next year. We really do need speed in the lineup though and because of that I think we've got to stick with Owens. Furcal is on the decline, and is not as easy to trade for as people imagine.
  12. Yeah I saw that on there yesterday, I was surprised because I'm not used to seeing White Sox players on project prospect. I hope he turns out to be good.
  13. Sweeney didn't play yesterday, maybe he is on his way up. Were those sources confirmed?
  14. I went to school in Minnesota and I watched him in the games a lot and he is definitely over rated defensively. He is good defensively, I don't deny that, but he'd do stuff all the time like catch the ball 15 feet before the track and ram himself into the wall only to lay there for a few minutes while the broadcasters declare it another Gold Glove caliber play by the best defensive player in baseball. He likes to put on a show so he tries to make things look harder than they really are. I'm not saying he's bad defensively, but not so amazing that he's worth getting a gold glove for starting 92 games in the outfield like '05. I also feel like he has a really whiny attitude. I don't want to see him on the White Sox next year.
  15. Is that a glitch, or were they going crazy with trying positions? Check out Hudson, apparently he played every position?? What?
  16. Lets turn faustino de los santos into a SS and bring him up the major league level.
  17. Too bad we don't have minor league team near chicago.
  18. Ugh, Griffith joined Matt Long and Ricky Brooks in the club of unsuccessful 2nd round picks in the past few years for the Sox. At least he's young I guess, I hope he does better next year.
  19. Project prospect has a top 10 list for college players which includes links, ages, and descriptions http://www.projectprospect.com/college-pro...-rankings-8210/
  20. So if we get the second overall pick for next year's draft, do you think the Sox will manage to not let him pitch in the majors until after he has 5 minor league seasons under his belt being the slow moving organization that we are.
  21. Are there limits to how many players can be placed on the 15 day DL ? I've always wondered that because otherwise what would be the point of having the 60 day DL? You can just keep reinstating the player on the 15 for as long as needed so why would a 60 day DL be necessary? Also I saw Cintron's 7 days of bereavement list time have expired so they put him on the restrictive list, is that essentially just an extended bereavement list?

Thank goodness for the person who reported that. It's so easy to just shrug certain talk off as a joke so much of the time, its good to know that a student took it seriously.
  23. Poreda is perfect through 4 IP, I feel like every start of his I like him more and more. Despite the fact he's only in rookie ball, this isn't seeming like that bad of a pick after all so far. I hope they start him in WS not Kannapolis next season.
  24. Ahg, I quoted the wrong thing, I meant to quote about Gio's mom being a problem not about Paul the media guy. Is that really true, his mom was the problem in high school not Gio?
  25. QUOTE(JPN366 @ Aug 26, 2007 -> 03:18 AM) Paul definitely goes above and beyond. really? or are you just joking?
