  1. Hmm, not sure why the Colts went offense. You would think Addai and Hart at RB would be good enough to let them address the defense. And the Patriots made a very good trade. Matthews fills a need, but I'm not impressed at all with what the Packers had to give up to get him. How do the Pats continue to do it? 8 picks in the Top 100. They're gonna get some very good players with those selections.
  2. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 04:55 PM) Harvin -- to Minnesota 1. Can he stay healthy? 2. Can he stay clean? 3. Can he be consistent? if yes to all 3 then the rest of the NFC north is going to have a lot of fun trying to catch him. That's definitely a bold pick. If he can answer all those questions, he's gonna be scary to face. I think he would have been a great risk in the 2nd round, but as a 1st rounder, I don't like it. I'm happy they took Harvin. He could be awesome, but more likely won't.
  3. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 04:47 PM) They pick 33rd, and some of the OT's are falling. And they took a tackle in round 1 last year, the draft isnt over and I think Detroit has done very well so far. I know, and if they took a LT in the 1st this year, they'd have their bookend tackle spots solidified for the next 10 years. I still think they need a ton of work on the defense, so after getting Oher, I would have targeted a LB with #33.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 04:39 PM) Reports on the score indicate that the Bears want Derrick Williams @ 49. That would be terrible. That's about the 1 WR I don't want with our 2nd round pick. I'd rather just wait and grab Ogletree, for example, in the 3rd. Futhermore, if they want a small WR, take Mike Wallace.
  5. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 04:43 PM) If the Lions are smart, they're take Oher to protect Stafford's blindside. Well, I guess that's why the Lions are the Lions. Pettigrew is a good player, but not a good selection for them. They have other, more important needs. Fine with me, though, since I'm a Bears fan.
  6. So would the Bears have taken Maclin if they hadn't gotten Cutler? I say "yes." EDIT: Not implying in the slightest that I'd rather have Maclin. Just brought it up 'cause I was interested to see who'd still be around if Angelo hadn't pulled off a miracle and gotten Jay. If the Lions are smart, they're take Oher to protect Stafford's blindside.
  7. There are 2 fan bases I really feel bad for in this draft: Oakland and Denver. At least Denver could have somewhat expected that loser Al Davis to do something like overdraft Hayward-Bey. But, Denver taking a RB with the 12th pick was ridiculous. I just don't see Moreno as a franchise RB. Solid/Good = yes. They really should have gone defense with both picks. If I were in charge, it would have been Orakpo or Ayers and Maualuga.
  8. Haha, I love this poll... Apparently 10+ titles is the favorite choice here. Gotta love it.

    Finals Week

My 1st Final is a week from today... Not looking forward to it at all. Finals weeks is always a blur b/c it's full of tons of cramming and very little sleep.
  10. I've never dined and ditched, but I did forget to leave a tip once at a Mexican restaurant b/c I paid with a gift card and wasn't even thinking. I felt so awful about that, especially b/c my summer job is based on making tips.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 07:46 PM) That's why I pretty much pay no attention to reports on minor leaguers by guys who are in any way affiliated with [insert team]. Manto makes it sound as if we've got 6 perennial all-stars in the making. Yeah, b/c we do.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 07:49 PM) This game was lost on the 32 second chance points the C's got. Definitely... But I'm not even mad at the Bulls for all the Offensive Rebounds the Celtic's got b/c I can't even count how many were bricks or took some ridiculous bounce and went to a Celtic's player, even when we had guys in better position. Oh, and f*** Celtics fans. I want nothing more than them to lose so f***ing bad, so Noah can talk some s*** after this series. Btw, he got the shaft on that technical big time.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 11:53 AM) I'd say there is a 98% chance that he doesn't have the career Konerko did. Konerko was a highly touted minor leaguer who lived up to his hype. The guy has been an all star, won a world series, and all and all been one of the better first baseman over the past 7 to 8 years. Best, no, but above average, absolutely. Agreed. A guy that averages .278/31/100 over his 9+ big leagues seasons is a bit hard to live up to.
  14. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 10:36 PM) Dude... Cutler, Dude. I know...
  15. I checked this out earlier today and spent about an hour reading articles/blogs and watching videos. It's a great site. I was a bit skeptical when I 1st heard about Chicago getting it's own ESPN site b/c I thought it would be more flash than substance (to try to show ESPN isn't east-coast biased), but it has a lot of good info on there.
  16. Thanks! I was hoping I'd get to see that.
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 12:50 PM) If Delmas and Robiskie are there, who do you go with? I'm hoping we get Holt so we aren't stuck at this point. If we get Holt, Delmas is the easy choice. Hell, even by getting Holt that means we don't have to go WR until round 4, and instead go DE then FS or vice versa in rounds 2 and 3. If we sign a WR (particularly Holt), then I'd definitely go Delmas. If we don't sign a WR, I'd like to go Robiskie. However, I don't think either will be around when we pick.
  18. I really hope this team is all still together around mid-May. I'm planning on going to see them play West Tennessee in Jackson, since that's only about an hour drive for me. I would love to see these guys in person. Ah, and that song is Your Love by The Outfield... Fitting for baseball, even if Beckham is an infielder, lol.
  19. I'm down... my PSN name is bearswhitesox2 I think I added you as a buddy, onedude, if I did it correctly. But I haven't set up my PS3 for online play until just now, so I'm kind of new to it. Of the teams that it looks like are available, I'd like the Cincinnati Reds. One question: will we be allowing a DH for all games in our league? Or do you have to take an AL team to get to use a DH? If it's the latter, then I'll take the Rangers as my team.
  20. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Apr 5, 2009 -> 03:03 PM) Ugh. I don't mind it except I don't want to lose Snaer. Outside of that, I would love to see what a good X's and O's guy could do here with the talent. That seems like such a bad choice for Memphis though if true. FedEx Jet: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N9FE I feel the same way about Bruce Pearl. I was hoping Memphis or some other team would steal him away, so we could hire an actual good X's and O's guy to see what could be done with our talent. Unfortunately, he just restructured his 6-year deal and doesn't look to be leaving any time soon.
  21. Also, Rick Morrissey's new story in the Tribune is a piece of work. What a s*** article. Is he trying to be the new Mariotti or something? All he does is write about negative stuff... I can't even believe I still read his bulls***.
  22. Mark Schlereth is a f***ing dumbass. He said the Bears would be a worse team for acquiring Cutler b/c we have too many holes that can't be plugged now. He said we needed those picks to solidify the OL and WR positions. He also said something to the effect of having no offensive tackles and that we'd win 6 or 7 games next year. That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard. First of all, have you ever heard of Orlando Pace, Mark? Or how about 1st rounder Chris Williams? Or maybe multi-year starter Kevin Shaffer, who will now fulfill the swing-man role at OT. Don't forget Omiyale competing at OT too, even if he will probably be a OG with us. Our offensive line is undoubtedly better now than it was last year and it was pretty serviceable last year. We'll also be returning a stellar 2nd year RB, and the best TE duo in the league. Don't tell me the offense will be worse. Plus, now that Babich is done calling the plays on defense and we added Marinelli, the D almost has to be better than it was last year. That doesn't sound like a team that will get worse. We don't really have that many holes and we can absolutely find an immediate starter in the 2nd round if we go best player available, which we should if we sign, say, Torry Holt. Also, I can't wait to see Earl Bennett playing with Cutler again.
  23. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 2, 2009 -> 05:00 PM) Orlando Pace is on board BTW. Just heard on ESPN News!!! f*** yes! What an awesome day!
