I fail to see what incredible bad luck happened to the 2024 Sox. They were just literally the worst collection of players in baseball history. And funny enough, almost all of that falls on Getz past and current job. Ultimately, it’s JRs fault for putting Getz in this position. It was time for a full on reboot from the ground up and once again, we failed to do that.

I think losing 121 games in 2024 should have been career suicide but here we are

Could he improve, yes. Has been been god awful in his 500 MLB at bats so far over 3 season, yes. Would I rather have Coby Mayo easily over Miguel Vargas, also yes.

He does suck, the stats and eye test have proven this. No one said it was impossible for him to improve. Anyway, I was replying to the comment that Mayo is "probably preferable" to Vargas, which to me, is the only wild statement made so far.

I can't believe I am going to have to watch Benintendi batting 3rd again for another season. What is this nonsense.

I tend to agree I would rather have the Red Sox package, however Mayo is a slam dunk preferable over Vargas. We already know Vargas sucks, his 500 MLB at bats tell us this. I am not going to look at 30 spring training at bats and think its finally clicked.

The 2024 team was dead last in runs scored, the second to worst team was almost 100 runs BETTER than the White Sox. Only the Marlins and Rockies had a worse team ERA than the Sox. They had a horrendous 3-22 start, and then went on to lose 21 games in a row several months later.. they were horrendous, consistently, all season long. They really were that bad.

I think a bold prediction is they win 60 games. That would be a 19 game swing with arguably just as bad of a roster as they had in 2024. That would be pretty incredible.

I voted 53-56, but I honestly don't see how this team is any better than last season.

He should definitely get a shot at it, but he’s still a rule 5 pick and organizations don’t just let special talents leave for nothing. Although the bar for best Sox SP is pretty damn low.

I need to see more out of Burke than 19 garbage time innings at the end of a miserable season. He had a 5.05 ERA across his minor league career. I hope he's as great as everyone is leading on, im not buying it currently.

I don't understand it because its still my favorite team and im going to watch the games. Im in Houston, so the only time I get to see the White Sox live is when they come down here for 3-4 games once a year. That doesn't mean I would have an 81 game season ticket plan if I lived in Chicago, but I would still go to games when they suck because its just enjoyable going to a major league game. I also have kids who like going, and I couldn't imagine saying "Sorry, my team sucks so you don't get to go". I understand that doesn't apply to everyone though.

No, I love the White Sox. You're right, they suck and its embarrassing to admit that's my team at times but it is what it is, they'll be good again eventually.

Yeah I don't get the im not going or watching crowd. Especially the people lucky enough to live close enough to get to go to the games of their favorite team. I watch damn near every game because I just love baseball. Would it be nice if they were good? Of course.
