  1. Buckle up boys, this is going to be a rerun of last year.
  2. Well he’s had setbacks and prolly starts the year on the IL so who even knows when we see him again.
  3. I know your definition of legit prospect is “maybe one day this guy can make some starts at the big league level” which is pretty much a statement that could be made about every single pitcher in the system. When your #1 starter is either Davis/Burke/Cannon you’re in trouble. Burke was 7-22 with an ERA over 5.00 in his minor league career but his 3 starts in garbage time last season already has you locking him in as a solid, reliable rotation fixture next season. It’s crazy talk. I get you want to be the optimist guy but can you at least be realistic about it. Cannon is the only arm in the rotation at this point in time who has shown any glimpse of reliable and that’s a 4.5 ERA guy with no overpowering stuff.
  4. No, I just don't think people like Shane Drohan should be included in any discussion about legit pitching prospects. If you just mean he's "a" prospect then sure, but that was not the nature of our conversation and you know it. Its questionable if this team even has 1 strong player on its 40 man roster, but you just declared that they have 5 strong starting pitchers headed into 2025. We definitely are not speaking the same language.
  5. Man I think you're falling into the same trap you did last season when you touted the bullpen etc. This team doesn't even have 1 strong starter, the rotation is hot garbage man. I don't understand where this line of thinking comes from.
  6. What an excellent post. I hope he does succeed because I have no other choice but to hope for that. Doesn't change the fact that he shouldn't have this job and has practically done nothing to warrant any form of support from the fanbase.
  7. I can't even scroll through TikTok without seeing a video trying to prove some muffled audio in game is of the refs tipping off Mahomes hes about to get sacked or some dumb s%*# like that. Or its just over and over baseless claims of how the NFL is scripted.
  8. Has to be the Chiefs. The amount of meatballs who truly think the NFL is rigged for the Chiefs is insane.
  9. It's ok to be frustrated with your favorite team being the worst of all time and run by an unqualified GM. Its also ok if you don't care, but why do you find it necessary to try to dunk on everyone that does care?
  10. No one expected a competitive team, we expected an actual hiring process to fix this mess of an organization and we didn't get it because the owner claimed he couldn't waste a year when that's what happened anyways. As a fan I would be much more at peace with this thing if JR had just fired everyone who had a hand in this and said "Sorry, we can do better than this" and made an effort.
  11. lol Brian Peppers, that really takes me back.
  12. Salary cap isn't going to fix anything. If its $80 / $250 the same teams that don't spend today will all be around $80 and the same teams that spend today will all be around $250. Maybe it helps some, but its not going to fix the Dodgers from spending as much money as they can. It just means that instead of the Dodgers getting all these guys now the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets etc. get some of them instead.
  13. I can agree with you on the first part, there really is no scenario where an elite level talent just should be able to enter the league and just pick where they want to go.
  14. Come on, it’s hard to complain about this one they didn’t shell out some crazy contract. Amazing place to live, top tier team, close to Japan, another Japanese superstar on the roster. Why wouldn’t you choose them?
  15. Thanks a lot Caulfield
  16. For sure, the year 1 of Sean Payton in Denver looked like a disaster to start but they really turned around this year and Bo Nix was great for a rookie.
  17. I laughed when Denver took Nix at 12 overall, like WTF are you doing. Way wrong on that one. I will be taking either Caleb Williams or Bo Nix late in fantasy drafts next season, I think both are going to take another step forward next year provided the Bears do something about the OLine and hire the right coach.
  18. I think its obvious whatever plan he had has completely changed after what happened last year. You don't make the signings and moves he made last offseason if you think your team is going to lose 110+ games. It definitely felt like he thought he could just swap out a few flawed pieces with defenders and that was going to fix the issues. I think a lot of what he has done so far this offseason is far better than what he did last season. I hope we don't spend 3/4 of the season trotting out washed vets just because. I hope they have a tighter leash and cut bait faster to ensure the young guys who need development get their time. We don't need Bryse Wilson making 25 starts with a 5+ ERA if we have 3,4,5 other young guys who are ready to make starts on the big club.
  19. Yes the White Sox should absolutely do that. I don’t think they will though and also don’t think it ends up being that big of a deal based off what I’ve already said.
  20. Yes, it does have value I’m not trying to say it doesn’t. If, example, Colson has a strong rookie season, a really good 2nd season, then blows up in year 3 he is either going to sign one of those sweetheart extensions, sign a big time extension, or get traded because neither of the first two options happened. All of those scenarios make an extra year of control trivial in the big picture if you’re dealing a rising star with 2 to 2.5 years of control left. The White Sox have a massive hole at SS, one of the better SS prospects in baseball, and a turd of a season on the horizon. If he wins the job, give him the job. I’d wager that has a pretty strong possibility of happening.
  21. I don’t think that would matter much when you’re talking about a star level player as the team trading for him would more than likely lock them up.
  22. They all signed reasonable early extensions, you know what I’m talking about you just like to be a dipshit for no reason.
  23. The logic is if any prospect for the Sox becomes a star level player, they will be traded before they see any extra year of control here because we won’t pay them what it would take to lock them up, therefor, there is no reason to play that game. Did you guys just start following the team or something?
  24. Just that it helps the White Sox sooner really. The reason to play the service time game is to get the extra year of control, if that doesn't matter there no longer becomes a reason to play the game. Just get the best player on your roster at that point. Its also more enjoyable as me as a fan to watch.
  25. If they play the service game with Colson and he comes up in May and becomes Alex Rodriguez, he will never see the end of that control in a White Sox uniform as of today. I would rather take a shot at the extra draft pick for the situation we are in with the decision maker of this organization. I agree with you though, you should always maximize the control of your high end talent (potential) but even saying that you should be locking them up long before that extra year means anything anyways. In a perfect world at least.
