All this "We have the top offense" isnt gettin it done for me.. It just makes me see that we could be even BETTER than we currently are without an automatic out at the end of the lineup.. We are almost like a National League team playing in the AL, sooner or later its going to start costing us no matter what the guys in front of him are doing.. I surely dont want to go into the playoffs with a .170 hitter when he could be up in crucial situations

Kenny's thoughts on Ozzie and possible consequences
QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) Jeez, this thread is actually pretty interesting, lets try and talk about that and not piss all over each other. I was hoping for some good discussion about what KW said, because I think it's pretty damn clear that he's tired of Ozzie's mouth, and if Ozzie doesn't stop making the organization look like chickens***, he's going to make a change regardless of the team's performance. I heard KW's interview on WSCR the other night, and he sounded like a tired man: tired of defending Ozzie, tired of hearing his mouth go off. He said that he loved Ozzie like a brother, but that Ozzie is walking down a path of ruin. I think KW is the only man Ozzie respects enough in the organization (him and JR maybe) to listen to, and an intervention is needed. Ozzie's interview about "getting nasty with the media" and refusing to go to sensitive training just confirms that fact. Well, even though I dont think itll happen.. it would be a huge mistake to axe him anytime soon, I think it would hurt the team.. if anything ide wait till the season is over, but even then, who the hell would we get to replace him? Dusty Baker might be out there

Tiger Watch - Official Thread
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) Well some of us do . Agreed though, if any Tiger fans want to bring some intelligent conversation here then you're very welcome. Problem is they all wont, and it could eventually be a problem.. which it is at most boards where they allow other teams fans to join an converce.. especially since both of us have different views obviously and then when one doesnt agree with another, itll be a lot of work for the mods

Tiger Watch - Official Thread
QUOTE(loltrain @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) The point is, there are some Sox fans who seem to think the Tigers didn't deserve to tie the game, Izzy just blew it. So by that token, the Chisox didn't deserve to win today it was merely Chad Qualls sucking. I don't agree with either of course. A grand slam in the 7th inning isnt the same as a closer blowing a 9th inning lead.. but I do agree with you that neither are lucky or undeserved thats just how the game plays out

NBA Draft Lottery Thread
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Apparently Houston want to trade up for the #2 or #4 pick now. They're going to offer Howard or Swift to do so, and try to get Brandon Roy or Tyrus Thomas. Yeah good luck with that one.. What is it looking like for us to get Rudy DBAHO?.. Prolly not as good if Houston is tryin to move up

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!!&#
QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) From what I heard on the radio cast, it didn't sound like he got much help from his defense today. That said, he still has to pitch better. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the offseason. He didnt, and I think he pitched a lot better than what people are giving him credit for.. yes the four walks (not counting the intentional) was a problem.. but they were not hitting him hard, Crede dropped a pop up foul that was in his glove and then missed two line drives, both hitting his glove, and he has made MUCH more difficult plays than those.. Then Mack in centerfield was just brutal It wasnt a good performance by Garland today but leaving the game losing 5-1 was not a great way to tell how he pitched because at LEAST 3 of those runs came from mishaps in the field that are usually routine plays for us

Official Game Thread 6/24 - Stros vs Sox 12:20
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:39 PM) Was Garland that bad or was there bad defense in the game or an ump that wasn't calling the low strike? There have been 4 plays on defense now that SHOULD be made that werent that either kept the inning alive or allowed runners to advance to 3rd.. Garland has not thrown great but you cant tack this all on him, if those plays are made this game is nothing like it is now.. and they were plays that should be made, especially by Crede and Mack is just an embarassment out there in CF

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!&a
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) Technicalities would say that it's the same city, same team name, same streak. It aint the same.. Also, Buchholtz is not that good.. but with our inept way of handling rookies we are either gonna get shut down or crush him IMO

Official Game Thread 6/23 - Stros vs Sox 7:35
Houston has not played well at all lately, and they suck on the road.. We should have 2/3 in the bag for this series with a good possibility for a sweep.. Luckily since I live in Houston ill get to see all the games, ill be lookin forward to seeing Contreras extend his streak tonight!!

Jenks
Ide take Jenks over any closer.. but it would have also been Lidge if he hadnt stumbled to start the season And no, not because hes on the White Sox, but because he throws 98-100+ gas and has NASTY breaking pitches.. his stuff is awesome

Marlins
QUOTE(Beetle @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 09:35 AM) Credit goes to Larry Beinfest, probably the most underrated GM in baseball, and his assistant Mike Hill. Their track record since day one has been outstanding. We're very glad to have them here (in Florida). Jeffrey Loria is not at fault for the Marlins' problems; former owner H. Wayne Huizenga is the true culprit. Huizenga screwed the team and its fans in '97, and he continued screwing them after he sold the team, by forcing the new owners to sign a lease for use of the stadium (which Huizenga still owns) that's not only one of the highest in the business, but also one of the most constricting. Luxury suite rentals, parking, advertisements, concessions, even a percentage of all merchandise sold -- all that money goes to Huizenga, not the team. Even during the '03 postseason run, HWH made a killing off the Marlins by making Loria pay extra to open the extra seating sections necessary to accomodate the masses. That is why things happened the way they did last winter. We need our own stadium to escape the suffocating grip of Huizenga (and his cronies in the local media and goverment). Hey, as soon as you Marlins get out of our stadium the better.. Im tired of worrying about players getting hurt because they have the play on that damned dirt infield until late september Im speaking of the Dolphins in case no one knew

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) The Cardinals will come out playing very hard tomorrow ... and Thursday too. Either that or they will be crushed from this game and play flat the next two games
