I hate how inaccessible spring training is.. Hes got long hair now!

I gotta say, these guys are going to suck but it is incredibly refreshing being able to watch the game and participate in the game thread without being pissed off and annoyed. Last season was just draining. Now, there is just zero expectations and hopefully development to watch.

They probably traded Nastrini for a 26 year old utility infielder, that's my guess.

I don't know, but they shed a lot of salary commitments at the deadline and didn't make any meaningful signings this off-season even when they said they couldn't "waste a year" so who knows.

They are who we thought they were, 2 runs on 3-4 hits and 10+ K's from our batters. Crochet 3 IP max, doesn't look great. Bullpen throws 6+ meh innings. White Sox lose, ill go 6-2.

Baltimore should be embarrassed. You have a team that already won 100 games and could really pave the way to a dynasty and you can't even spend 100 million on your payroll. Their cheap ways and hopes that every prospect works out for them is going to bite them in the ass.

Sure, but building a narrative isn't factual. Could Soroka get "it" back. Yes. Could Fedde have reinvented himself? Yes. Factual: Erick Fedde has been terrible in the MLB. Not Factual: Erick Fedde was the KBO MVP last season, so that means he is now a good MLB pitcher.

Oh really? Crochet - Hasn't started a game since college and has pitched 12 inning over the last 2 years. This is our #1. Soroka - Has pitched about 45 innings the past 4 seasons, and was awful last year. Fedde - Hasn't pitched in the MLB since 2022, and was awful. Flexen - 6.86 ERA in 100 IP last season, awful. There is plenty of factual information to show our rotation is going to blow. There is actually no factual information to the contrary however. Just a lot of "what ifs".

You're absolutely right, I don't really understand why they couldn't just throw Toussaint out there for 3 weeks and then drop him for Nastrini.

Meh, I agree with him. Nastrini doesn't profile as a "play games with service time kind of guy." And besides, it doesn't matter because if he does become a star we wouldn't be keeping him that long anyways. The issue with it to me is, as its been said a million times already, he hasn't really earned it. And no, I don't think 14 innings in spring training means a guy who has 4 AAA starts has earned an MLB rotation spot. I would really hate to see him get bombed in his first couple starts and then sent packing, probably not the best for a kids confidence.

Yeah I can get behind that. "We feel pretty good about our camp and the roster going to Chicago." ....the only thing that makes this an acceptable response is if the question was "Do you guys think you can finish at least 4th place in the AL Central?"

On one hand, I completely understand they can't come out and say "We have no talent and we aren't spending money, prepare for a lousy season." On the other hand, I really feel insulted that they are trying to blow smoke up the fans ass that this is a competitive roster. I get it, don't come out and say were fucked but man at least don't pretend that this is even remotely close to a good roster.
