  1. It's not shabby at all. There's almost no chance of us getting Matsui, but I still want KW to take a shot at him, at least. I honestly don't see why JR wouldn't not give him a shot either, it's a win win situation. IF he does bomb, oh well, he's still a defensive genius.
  2. I do not want to trade Carlos Lee. This guy is going to be a stud, in my opinion. He barely scratched the surface of his full potential this season. I hope he stays with the Sox for a LONG LONG time and we see the greatness that is SEELEE!! I wouldn't mind trading Maggs if the right offer was out there. Gaston is a fine choice for manager. I would rather have him then Francona or Bell, wouldn't you? No plan A, B, or C.... LMAO.
  3. I know Jose means nothing but the best, but he just isn't a fit anymore. Hopefully this will be some incentive to sign a high-tier SS. And maybe take a run at Kuzuo Matsui.
  4. Just one thing to say... JoshPR was basically agreeing with whomever was slamming Ncorbl, saying "Good one" and laughing about it. In my opinion, he invaded an argument that in no way shape or form involved him (kind of like me right now huh? ). Anyways, he got what he deserved. After a few posts, he tells Ncorgbl to STOP STOP SCROLL BY. Sorry, but that's NOT how it works bud. You don't just insult someone and expect them to ignore it. A lot of you say Ncorgbl is a bad poster. IMO he is a fabulous poster, you just shouldn't read between the lines. I enjoy reading what he has to say. SO blah. I'm gonna go work on a haunted forest. Take this as you will. And I do hope we can all agree one one thing.... :fthecubs :fthecubs :fthecubs
  5. Pettitte would be nice, but there's almost no chance in hell he's coming here. And Thomas will be back, book it.
  6. Today's Daily Herald says the offer was taken off the table. They're done with him.
  7. I'd test the free agent market too, if I was him. He's just doing what a lot of players do, even though I doubt he'll be on our team next year anyways.
  8. You've probably already heard everything this article has to say somewhere else, but it was still an interesting read nonetheless. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cha
  9. Gordon was great this year, but there's no doubt in my mind he's going to go with a different team. A team that needs a closer. We have ol' Billy, we just got lucky this year that we had Gordon to turn to when Koch imploded. This year we could always use Marte, if Koch implodes again, guy can do two innings just like Rivera can.
  10. Basically what I have here is the injury list for 2003, but it seems they they used the players FULL names: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...lub_context=cws I didn't know Danny's REAL name was Jonathan, making him Jon Wright. Strange, huh? And there's the William Koch everyone loves to talk about... good ol' Santos Alomar, and that fiesty William Harris.
  11. $$$$ I think they'll be inclined to spend a little, should have better attendance next season as well with the hoopla of a World Series title. If that new stadium goes through, don't expect payroll to climb any.
  12. Good move, welcome back cwsox.
  13. **TANGENT WARNING** I've finished Vice City(loved it, greatest game ever), but I've never played GTA 3. Is it as good/better/not as good as VC? Is it at least worth buying? YES buy it! In some ways it is better than Vice City, it actually had sloped roads, excellent jumps, and other great stuff. There aren't motorcycles, and you can't jump out of a car unless it's completely stopped, and there are a few other handy things missing, but it's still a work of art.
  14. I literally had to beg to get Vice City. We get home, I turn it on, she's on the computer, and the first thing they talk about is COCAINE. She's like "wtf?" then continues her work.
  15. After reading that, I am officially an Ozzie Guillen supporter. He knows what to do with Frank. Jerry did not, he let Frank do what he wants, thus our team failed. Bring on Guillen!
  16. I can't believe there are some teenagers stupid enough to say "just like in GTA3". Morons. I play GTA3 and VC, but if I was gonna shoot someone (I'm not), I wouldn't say "just like in GTA".
  17. APPLINGS!!! Hey man what's up??? You have no idea who I am, but I was Konan12 over on the whitesox.com boards, in case you may remember me.
  18. Why pay $6 or $7 mil for a guy who's not proven at the big league level? Sure he's a pro in Japan, but that doesn't mean much to me. It's not worth it. While Suzuki and Matsui have panned out thus far, there have been busts like Shinjo that make me weary of taking a risk this big. He's still extremely fast! Someone like him I wouldn't doubt would find a way to get on base and terrorize the pitchers
  19. WHat pisses me off is that they project Matsui to go to the Mariners! The Mariners don't need any more oriental players! With all the oriental players they have they might as well move to Japan! I want Matsui.
  20. http://www.chunky.com/click_for_cans.asp CLick on the Bears and submit and the can of soup you gave will represent our Bears!
  21. Not like we're looking for more power anyways, he have a boatload of power on this team. True, but you need your 1B to have some power. Also need someone who's going to stay healthy, seems Snow is hurt a lot. To be honest, I wouldn't mind a Roberto Alomar-esque First Basemen. You're right about the injuries though, that could be a downside.
  22. I think you underestimate Konerko's trade value. I do. Look at it this way. If I was a GM of some team, and looking to trade a starting pitcher of mine, who is decent, and the White Sox offered me Paul Konerko for him, I'd say no. Unless the GM is a complete moron and doesn't look at speed, defense, etc, I wouldn't accept. Granted, there's no way of not knowing that PK won't have a great slump again this year. He probably won't. I just don't want that slowness of his on our team. Possibly a team looking for a DH or a 1B that hits for power, and don't mind about speed, then we might be able to get something useful out of them.
  23. Not like we're looking for more power anyways, he have a boatload of power on this team.
  24. Basketball... they should just give each team 100 points and let them play for 3 minutes. And to not look like an off topic bastard, I will be working on my computer a lot, I just installed Linux Redhat 9, so I have some toying around to do with that. There's school, I'll probably watch a few Hawks games, and do stuff online. Fun, huh?
