I just don't get why you should care about Nebraska's academics as a Wisconsin grad. It's the epitome of Big Ten snobbishness.

Historically the Pac and Big have been somewhat in alliance so my guess is that if there are going to moves, they make them at similar times. Academics have no part of it or Nebraska wouldn't be in the Big Ten.
