  1. After Viciedo it's hard to come up with a consensus list. You seemed to go with guys having good seasons (other than Mitchell), but I'd put Escobar and Thompson on there ahead of Leesman and Short. Short is converting me, but I'm still pessimistic about him becoming a regular.
  2. Kyle McMillen is the highest signed pick. He's with Great Falls.
  3. QUOTE (OilCan @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) Bristol White Sox's roster hasn't been updated all that much. Can't tell who else the team has signed, they have some players from last years' squad playing there again. It's up now.
  4. I'd assume it's an eligibility issue. He's no longer eligible to win rookie of the year, which is what a lot of publications use.
  5. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 11:01 PM) That's the type of guy he is. People seem to think of Kuhn in a lesser way than they should. He's a .300 leadoff guy who can play 4, and maybe up to 6, positions. That was Figgins at his peak. Well that and 30+ stolen bases. Kuhn will never do that.
  6. Knights won 7-2 2 more hits from Viciedo Birmingham, Winston-Salem, Kannapolis on All-Star break. Great Falls @ Billings Gehle started. A lot of non-rookies on the opening day lineup.
  7. Knights won 10-9 Viciedo 2-5, 2 K Barons @ Huntsville 6:43 Dash won 3-2 Mitchell 2 hits, Martinez 3. Each with a triple Nice start from Buch Greensboro @ Intimidators Carter
  8. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 02:18 PM) C. Marrero - Does nothing but hit. Great for an undrafted guy. His spits away from home are impressive. Marrero was a draft and follow.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) Just realized the new Assassins Creed, Uncharted AND Elder Scrolls all come out within 11 days of each other in November. I haven't played much video games recently but that seems like it will probably change in a few months now I'm not even ashamed to admit that my social life will disappear for about 3 weeks once AC Revelations comes out. I can't wait.
  10. I love hearing guys that have good grades and a degree willing to give baseball a shot. What's the harm in putting your resume on hold for a couple years while you chase a dream and have spectacular life experiences? Baseball goes away with age, jobs won't.
  11. I'll give any hitter/fielder with a 'plus arm' a shot to pitch. Why not? Your downside is a minimal minor league contract and your upside is Sergio Santos.
  12. Short's d is supposed to be good for a corner, but only passable in center. JPN will have to weigh in to confirm that. I questioned his bat last year, but I'm not so sure I can anymore. He's had 2 10+ hitting streaks within a week or so of each other against AA pitching. The bat seems legit, it's just a matter of how legit. Can he be an everyday player?
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 01:00 AM) Yes, I do like Reed. I'd actually like to give him a shot right now over most of the raw sewage we're running out there. Key not to rush him though. He looks like a guy who can be a legit above average reliever with a shot to close. Great stuff and spectacular numbers.
  14. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 09:49 AM) The only thing I'll say is that if anybody ever predicts a team surpassing the Bulls 72-10 record again, I'm going to yell at my computer screen. That's stupid. Miami was not supposed to be this good this year. They had no bench. Give them some vets taking MLE or less and at some point they're primed to make a push for it.
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 01:46 AM) I'm still excited about Trayce Thompson. He's not going to be a Stanton-esque prospect, but there is a lot to like about him, notably his plate discipline and raw power. If you have those, you can survive striking out 150+ times a season...Adam Dunn has made a living off of it. Thompson's walk rate this month is absurd for most anyone, but especially for a guy that had a mediocre one previously. Let's see this play out for an extended period before we assume this is part of his game. That said, I do love Trayce. Probably the best power in the system and he's a great athlete to go with it.
  16. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 07:43 PM) Tennessee hired Jason's boy, Dave Serrano, today. I'm pumped about the hire. Great move. Very surprised. Serrano is a west coast guy. Facility wise a great upgrade for him (probably pay too), but he won't be able to recruit as well at Tennessee. It will be interesting to see how that plays out. Plus Fullerton is a top open job now.
  17. I just got schooled on Mario knowledge. I remember Mario 64, but I can't say I've played much of those games. I still think it's different because it has to be cartoon-like.
  18. Barons doubleheader: Lost game 1 8-3 Lost game 2 3-1 Dash won Mitchell 4-5 Wilkins 2-3, HR, 2 BB Intimidators lost 5-3 Thompson HR #12
  19. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 10:46 PM) I would imagine so. I think Reed would be his only real competition, and he's a reliever. Petricka could be close, but the lack of a promotion to High-A followed by his injury stops that.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) Honestly, the PS3 and 360 set and reset the standard, and what their finished products look like are incredible. I cannot wait to see Nintendo do something like that with one of their first party titles like Pikmin, Zelda, Mario, etc, and I cant wait to finally play a Ninja Gaiden and Darksiders game on the WiiU as well. Mario with graphics just doesn't seem like Mario though. That would be like making an HD Atari. What's the point? The identity of Mario is 2D sidescrolling. What are graphics going to do for something so graphically limited in nature?
  21. I just picked up Infamous 2, which has a promo code for early access to the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta. Since I've never played any of the Uncharted games and have no desire to, PM me if you're interested in using the code. I'll send the info to the first person who asks for it. Edit: Taken, that didn't take long.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) He is? He'd given up 9 ERs in his last 13 1/3 IP with mediocre peripherals across the board going into tonight. At 24 and still in low A, I'd say he's just filler. Those were his first three starts of the year. I'm not expecting much, just noting that each start has been better than the last.
  23. Dexter Carter with 6 scoreless innings. His best start yet. He's slowly getting back to form.
  24. Ha rehanging. I'm scared to guess what that could mean.
