Danks had a huge power surge in May and the strikeout numbers took a drop, but not enough. Still, progress gives hope.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 06:42 PM) I got Little Big Planet from the welcome back package. I had heard it was a good game and never gave it a chance and it got pretty addictive. Anyone who hasnt tried it Id recommend getting it as one of your welcome back games. I thought about it, but I'm pretty pleased with Infamous and Wipeout so far. Infamous is surprisingly fun and Wipeout is a solid racing game considering I didn't have any in my collection.

That has to be the upset of the year in the tourney. Illinois over Fullerton? Get out.

QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) Hilarious? On the season: 29 IP, 38 K, 28 BB. Hilarous.

QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) While looking at the Southern league batting champs in the last decade I discovered that they were all older than league average like Kuhn 24-29. Kuhn is 24 which is right around the league average. I wouldn't call him old for the league.

Kannapolis box score Miguel Gonzalez with a HR in his first AB.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 12:59 AM) In the CWS, many years the scores would be way too high. HR's get old. Worn down pitching staffs maybe, but balls were flying. I should clarify. By worn down I meant guys pitching three days in a row or starters going on short rest. I'm not saying they are significantly worse by the end of the season. Certainly there have been really high scoring games, but I got used to it and it grew on me. That said, I'm all for shorter games.

What's interesting is you'd expect Spain to play the second team (I was going to say scrubs then realized that it's Spain and none of our first team would even play for their second team) under these circumstances.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) Rios and Dunn coming through would really turn around our season... The Sox are 18-13 since the start of May. The season is turned around. They just have to sustain it.

Miguel Cabrera is proof that you really don't need to be an athlete to be a good baseball player. It's embarrassing to see that fatass trot around the bases on you.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) Saw Contreras throw a splitter into the 1st base dugout area seats at Yankee Stadium once. Like to see you try and hit that. Haha well played sir.

Al Albuquerque hahaha. That name gets me every time.

Viciedo hit bomb #10 on the year tonight.

Umm yeah so that was brutal. Kljestan continues to drive me crazy every time he appears for the Nats. Bradley didn't sent out a top tier lineup, but it's probably not good to receive a butt whooping right before a tournament.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 06:40 PM) I liked the second one more the first time I saw it, but with repeated viewings the whole Smith/Neo sequences get on my nerve. The Architect scene was my favorite and still is, but everything else in that movie grates on me now. That's interesting. Most people I've heard complain about those movies hate the Architect scene. The dialogue in there is just fantastic though. I just wish they had done better with Zion in general. It didn't seem to fit for me. Any of the scenes there weren't good enough to me, which is why the third one is indefensible.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 06:53 PM) I hate college baseball games where both teams score double digits. Hell, I hate working HS games where that happens. The game was becoming (or really already was) a joke. It's really not that common in college though. Sure, it happens, but the good conferences have enough pro prospects in their pitching staffs that it's not too often. The problem is mostly from worn out pitching staffs, which unfortunately happens more in regional play.

Lehigh Valley @ Knights Podsednik is leading off for Lehigh Valley. Barons @ Jacksonville Barons mashing the ball, up 11-0. 2 HR from Short. Santiago starting. Kinston @ Dash Buch Intimidators @ Savannah Burnside, who has been a K machine lately, with the start.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 02:25 PM) Watching Matrix 2 and 3 makes it seem so long...not because of how long ago it was but because of how terrible those were. It's so bandwagon to say the the second Matrix film was bad, but it really was a top tier action movie. It's just that the expectations were so high after the first one. They're not even really in the same genre. The first one is a more intellectual sci-fi where the second one could be lopped in with a Schwarzenegger movie. Now, the third Matrix I can't defend. Those stupid robot/Mech warrior things were stupid in so many ways.

Yeah, but where are you going to play him. Gallagher is having a damn fine season as well for the Knights.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) Michael Blanke has been promoted to Winston-Salem. Odd timing considering his recent slump.

Thankfully a bit too young for a good portion of those to have meaning with me, but it's hard to believe things like the Matrix and American Pie were in the 90s.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 12:05 PM) PS Store is back! Time to download my free games! The Welcome Back offer isn't available yet. They have planned store updates on the 3rd and the 7th. I would guess it fits in with one of those, probably the 7th.

The new thing is warming the bats. Some college teams (could be most, not sure how fast it's caught on) are actually heating up their bats in the dugout to give them more power.

Phegley 4-4 with 7 RBI tonight. Geez

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 05:39 PM) Nintendo will have to create their own Halo to sell this system IMO. I think it's that simple. The games for the Wii are severely lacking. Most non-exclusive releases are on PS3 and 360, but not Wii. If they can somehow change that or at least have a top tier exclusive (as much as I think the FPS market is over saturated, they need a good FPS like Killzone or Halo) that could change things. Wii was a a gimmick that people got tired of.
