QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 11:30 PM) Blink and The Master, some good stuff that season. Plus if you're skipping season 2 you don't have to sit through Love and Monsters and Fear Her which were just brutal television. I liked The Master a lot and David Tennant is my favorite doctor of the three so far. The writing is at its best now, but the best part about the early ones was Rose. I thought she was a great companion, though Amy Pond is my new favorite. Having to sit through season 4 and Donna will be harsh though.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 03:24 AM) The bombshell on tonight's Dr. Who was pretty awesome! That was probably the most surprised I have been at a shock ending in a long time. They built it up for so long so to still come up with a shock is impressive. Moffat is good at that. I'm really glad he's the head writer.
  4. Thanks guys. It was a fun one.
  5. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 01:16 PM) sloppy and stupid. The guy from Panama was at the top far corner of the box and going towards the sideline. Just flat out stupid. It was an MLS product, Tim Ream. I'm tired of hearing about this guy. If he was so good he would be out of the league by now. Rookie of the year should have given him enough attention to play in a real league.
  6. And Justin Jones, former Sox pick, got the start in the win. I assume Johnson goes tonight.
  7. Reed's scouting report says plus slider, good fastball, below average change. That's why he's seen as a reliever.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 12:03 AM) Do they still have a good chance of advancing? If they don't, it would be a disaster of epic proportions. They do. Top 2 in the group and two of the three third place teams advance. Already have that win over Canada and still play Guadeloupe, the worst team in the group.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 09:06 PM) So it's amazing looking at the stats for college hitters this year. After watching a few games today, I'd much rather go back to the "ping" bat days. This is a boring product now. Yeah it could be frustrating to have those big offensives games, but it made the college game different. College baseball fans were used to it and grew to like it. The change is strange.
  10. LOL. I guess Stanford is using him as a LOOGY.
  11. Silverio is heating up lately. He's been up and down this year, but overall good enough to think he still has a shot.
  12. The title says it all. The NCAA Tournament is in the Super Regional round this weekend and the first game (Mississippi State @ Florida with Frank Thomas on the call) is currently on ESPN2. A number of White Sox draft picks will be in action and all of them will be on TV if you want to follow these prospects. Here is the list: Read more: http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/future-sox...l#ixzz1OtlXT5c3
  13. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:09 PM) Paul Goldschmidty for the Mobile Bears looks like a monster. Dude already has 20 HRs in AA, more walks than strikeouts and a nice OBP just shy of .500. Monster. Yeah I saw he hit his 21st HR against the Barons and looked him up. Holy crap.
  14. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) Can we also list any UDFA's signed? Yes. Usually we try to as we find them, but that's not always as easy.
  15. Knights @ Scranton Wilkes-Barre Hernandez Mobile @ Barons Santiago Dash @ Myrtle Beach Buch with a bizarre line: 5 IP, 8 R, 8 K, 2 BB, 7 H (1 HR) Intimidators @ Greensboro Carter
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:55 AM) Yeah, I saw that. My question was at what point can he finally be dismissed? Dude was drafted in '04. They just made him a side armer so he is a different pitcher. Whisler had already been out of the org.
  17. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:35 AM) It could also be construed as being lazy developmentally. And/or in scouting as well. I'm sure there's a reason. There's no way 30+ rounds with no high schoolers is a coincidence.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:12 AM) Adam Dunn is contagious. He needs to be quarantined. I saw you had lost post in this thread and knew you were going to mention Dunn in reference to Ciolli. Thanks for being predictable.
  19. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 10:27 PM) This article gives the White Sox honorable mention for teams that might have had a good draft. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...rtnerId=rss_mlb Kind of surprised. Anyone see any draft review yet? The draft reviews will start to flow tomorrow. Honestly, I think this could be a very deep draft class for the Sox. They picked a lot of college guys that put up solid enough numbers to do well in the low minors. Hopefully a few of those guys can make the leap into being a legitimate prospect. I'm going to need some convincing on the Johnson pick, but the Soptic pick sounds good and I love the Gardeck pick in the 8th if they can sign him.
  20. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 09:18 PM) Rienzo a little wild, but the K's are there: 5 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 6 SO. I'm starting to think he's a reliever. How about Ciolli tonight? 0-6, 5 K. Yikes
  21. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 03:31 PM) I am gonna call BS on this. It really makes no sense. Yeah that's ridiculous. They might have had someone in the MLB Scouting Bureau say rounds 10-15 is where he projects, but there are so many factors with that.
  22. I have a feeling this is going to be the first time Bristol doesn't suck. With all these college players, the BriSox should have a competitive squad. Hopefully that translates to a deep draft class. Who knows, but it's certainly an interesting case study to ignore high schoolers for the first two days of the draft.
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 02:02 PM) Question...Why is the MLB draft so many rounds? Is it just to provide depth for your rookie leagues and A ball? How many of these super late draft pick even play pro at all? 50 rounds just seems like a lot. It does and I think I heard that they're considering shortening. I wanna say most draft classes sign around 30 players. They could probably cut it to 40 rounds and no one would care.
  24. Pretty much all the prep guys drafted by the Sox are good prospects that aren't expected to sign.
  25. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 11:44 AM) Round 33- They finally took a high school player. A catcher. Yeah, Bryce Mosier, catcher. He sounds like a pretty good prospect, but obviously any prep player taken this late is probably a tough sign. Committed to SDSU. Story on the 34th rounder. Also a high schooler, but that makes it sound like he will sign.
