QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 10:24 AM) Because, the crime rate, massive traffic issues, total lack of funding (which WILL be tossed to the taxpayer no matter what they say), etc. will make Chicago even more unbearable than it already is. There are so many reasons to avoid this that the few reasons to get it are so far outweighed I won't bother going further into this. Not that it matters, there is no way we get the Olympics here, and anyone who thinks we have an actual chance -- LOL. Hey sweet, someone answered for me. Couldn't say it much better.

Mr Angelo, please trade for Jay Cutler!

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 08:46 AM) The Broncos want a 1st in 09 and in 2010 plus a 2nd rounder this season. And the Bears could have a valuable pick in #18. Why? Because that's 1 pick ahead of Tampa Bay, who themselves are looking for a young QB. The Broncos could take Freeman at #18 in a trade with the Bears. Josh Freeman sucks. How is he a 1st rounder? -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 09:46 AM) Ha, I expected one of these today. If it were pinned it'd be more convincing MODS. Ha, I'm not participating in this stupid 'holiday.' It would be nice if someone executed a believable one though. The shock value on this is good, but so unbelievable. Something like Joe Mauer is out for the season would have been beautiful. He has an injury with somewhat unknown severity. Most Sox fans would go nuts over it.

Yeah, one of my buddies did a story on him when he first came up to the bigs and said he was really shy. Medication and simply getting used to his new environment was all Greinke needed. It's nice to see him figure it out because he has the talent and I hate seeing a guy like that have other issues affecting his play.

Damn, I wanted this to be true.

I said "What?" aloud and then looked at the time. "Oh."

Anderson signed a 7-year deal to stay at Mizzou. $1.6 million, supposedly up to $2.23 million with incentives. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 10:28 AM) Your avatar is f***ing weird. I had a hard time turning away from it. As for the radio, 670 is just terrible to me. I can't listen to any of it.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 03:25 PM) Well if you're going to brag about how much you drank in the 1st place, you deserve to get ripped. I'm one of those guys who doesn't give a s*** how much you drink, but if you're going to brag, brag about something good. Has nothing to do with me being more of a man. Really not that big of a deal to me, but I do find it funny. It's such an odd thing to brag/rip about. Carry on.

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) Calipari to UK Mike Anderson to UM(memphis) Easy on the Anderson front. Memphis got permission to talk to him, that's it so far. I got my browser on Tigerboard refresh, but I'm still confident Mike will stay. -

Notre Dame football. Kind of an odd statement though. -

The buzz is Calipari to Kentucky. The sports director for the NBC affiliate in Lexington went on air with the Memphis affiliate and said "It's over," in reference to Calipari joining Kentucky. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 01:14 PM) They were the conference champion and conference tournament champion of the best conference in the country (with no close 2nd). I think they fully deserved to be the #1 overall. That's fine, the #1 overall doesn't matter anyway, but anyone who thought they were actually a noticeable amount better (if better at all) than the other #1s is kidding themselves.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 12:28 PM) Posting during class? Clyde won't be happy. The next time I pay attention for the full 50 minutes in that class will be the first time. Besides, Owens getting cut takes priority over school haha.
-
He's got a case of the Greinkes.
-
Nice to see the Sox know what they are doing. I wanted to like Owens, but he just can't hit worth a lick.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 01:11 AM) Burnetts Vodka, eh? I didn't know anyone outside of Michigan heard of it. It's sooooo s***ty, yet so cheap. EDIT: Just saw this...2 nights? Weak. Burnetts is absolute garbage. I love it when people call out other people for how much they drank (or didn't drink). You're so much more of a man because you call a man who destroyed his liver for 2 days 'weak.'

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 02:38 AM) In regards to today, it's funny to see the media, before to the game, give Sparty absolutely no chance, and then afterwords try and turn it into some huge upset. Am I the only won who remembered that they won a 7 bid league by an astounding 4 games? Yeah, I was annoyed and surprised by that. I didn't think Louisville was that amazing of a team to be such a big favorite against Michigan State. Not to take anything away from Louisville, they deserved the #1 seed they got, but they weren't leaps and bounds better than the field and they certainly weren't the #1 overall team like the seeding gave them. It was purely a media creation to build up Louisville to that juggernaut.

Looks like Jordan will start this season in Winston-Salem. He's gonna have to cut down on the strikeouts, they are worrying me.
-
This one (link) touches on Danks, Viciedo and Poreda and this one (link) is all about Beckham. Some good stuff. Danks is starting at Winston-Salem. If he starts hot, Birmingham could see another big name. Fun year to be there this season.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 20, 2009 -> 07:27 PM) I stand by my statement, if the Big 12 is as good as it claims, they should have 3 teams in the Sweet 16 and 2 in the Elite 8. If they can accomplish that, theyll get all the credit they deserve. Done. -
QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 28, 2009 -> 10:45 PM) Sucks that Altidore isnt playing more for his club team. Him not playing is probably costing him minutes with the national team. Yeah, I love watching him play but he was pretty sloppy on the ball tonight. The goal was nice, but an easy finish. He did set up Ching for a great chance after it was tied as well, but overall he didn't thrill me. Part of that was probably because he was adjusting to the game as a sub, but he didn't get to show off his one-on-one skills at all.
-
Man the US played like garbage for 70+ minutes in San Salvador tonight, but pulled off a 2 goal comeback and had some awesome chances for a 3-2 winner. I wanted fan shots after Hejduk tied it. Those fans were insane all game, I wanted to see their reactions to blowing what they thought was a sure fire win.
-
That was a good game. Mizzou couldn't hit a 3 for most of the 2nd half, but they played pretty well. They showed everyone they belonged in the Elite 8. Great season Tigers. On a side note, that also concluded a perfect West Region for my bracket.
