QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 12:08 PM) Lunardi has KU as a 2 in KC and OU as a 3. The Kansas part isn't that surprising, that could still change. OU dropping to a 3 is pretty shocking. I would imagine if Duke loses today or Memphis doesn't win their tourney, OU has a good case to get back in the 2 spot. Wake and Nova have a chance to move up to 2s with big weekends. Kansas is hoping more s*** doesn't go down, I'd say it's 50/50 they actually get a 2 when it's all said and done. Meanwhile, Jerry Palm has OU as a 2 and Kansas as a 3.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 12:03 AM) Again. College basketball > anything but baseball I'm not sure how baseball can even come anywhere close to that. I don't think I've seen a sporting event top last night. If there's anything about baseball that sucks, it's that there is no last second drama like in football or basketball. College basketball is by far the best sport. Baseball probably fits in at 4th for me, it's too slow.

Crappy way for Moore to go out, probably his worst shooting game of the year and the Cats were still in it down the stretch. It's sickening the amount of close games NU lost this season, absolutely sickening. At least they got the NIT still.

What's up with Kansas? That's 3 surprisingly mediocre/poor performances in a row.

I think he meant scandal wise. Baylor, Oklahoma and Mizzou have had their issues. K State had some questionable dealings with the Beasley/Walker stuff.

They just switched to 16 teams this year.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 10, 2009 -> 12:43 PM) It's more to get Mills some minutes. But getting to 26 wins won't hurt either. They added it before the conference tournament had started for them. -

QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 03:15 PM) There is no such thing as a re-building year in Lawrence. Save that for Champaign. LOL, so what was that 2-year period where Kansas couldn't get by Bradley and Bucknell in the first round? -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 08:27 AM) I never said they weren't elite, but I don't think their in the top 10 programs of the last decade. They've played second fiddle to UNC for the better part of this century. And take away their lofted seedings and I think they'd be a good but not great team. There is no criteria in which Duke is not a top 10 program this decade. No team has been to as many sweet 16s since 2000. That shows their consistency. If you want to talk about being elite, only 5 programs have been to more Final 4s (Kansas, Florida, Michigan State, UCLA, UNC). Hatred aside, Duke is a top 10 program this decade. Get over it, move on. -
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 8, 2009 -> 11:42 PM) Tough bottom of the bracket, assuming Okie State and A&M take care of things in the 1st round. KU should be able to sleepwalk to the title game, and will probably be facing a team that had to win some tough games to get there, so i'll take the Jayhawks to win this crown. I like the logic, but I'm taking Oklahoma because it's in Oklahoma.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 8, 2009 -> 05:01 PM) Since the tournament is not in Columbia, A & M has a pretty easy road to the semifinals LOL. If A&M can sustain shooting 62% for a full game again then yes. Otherwise, Missouri isn't incompetent on the road. They have wins at Texas and Ok. State. You can say Missouri is overrated and bad away from home, but to say A&M has 'a pretty easy road to the semifinals' is simply ignorant. Let's not even mention the fact that A&M is a jump shooting team that will be playing the 2nd of a back to back against a rested Missouri team. Even the people that say Missouri is overrated have to concede they are a legit top 25 team, which A&M is not so stop with the garbage.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 8, 2009 -> 04:09 PM) Pssh. North Carolina yes, Duke no. Duke is completely overrated (again). When was the last championship again, 8 seasons ago? And don't give me that crap about sweet sixteens and elite eight appearances. Any good team that gets overrated seeding year in and year out would be able to do the same. I don't like Duke either, but the fact that you are saying they haven't won a title in 8 years is a bad thing shows that they are an elite program. If Northwestern had won that game, they would have had a tough case to deny if they had beaten whatever other bubble team in the first round. As it stands now, you would think a 2nd win over Michigan State in the quarterfinals would make a solid case. They might need 3, depends on how the committee views them. 6 wins against the RPI top 50 is pretty impressive, but the 8-10 conference record is gonna be tough to overcome. -

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Mar 8, 2009 -> 02:15 PM) I don't know if I can take much more of this Duke/UNC game. All it is is both teams crying for fouls every time they touch the ball. You can say that if you want, but what you really mean is "I hate these two teams so much because they always win and they are so much better than 99% of college basketball programs." -

QUOTE (T R U @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 10:55 PM) Rush the court when you win a championship or upset a #1 team.. your excuse that "Well they have a better chance to make the tournament now" is hardly a reason to rush the floor. Im not whining about it, just saw no point in it bud That's a very extreme view of rushing the court. I thought Penn State was pretty justified in rushing the court. It's not like it showed up the Illini, that's not what rushing the court does. It's a sign of respect that beating them in a dramatic fashion was a big deal to their fans. In what circumstance can fans rush the court when they win a championship anyway? Almost all championships are won on neutral floors. Are you saying that only mid-majors that clinch a tourney spot should rush the floor? -

Ok, let's play this game. Not saying there's only one spot for these teams, but who do you like? QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 01:19 PM) But, midweek games can be very helpful if it allows you to beat a top team, but overall your right, they tend to mean very little. Althought its a great way to develop your young pitchers and ideally have other guys ready for the playoff push. Yeah, they can have a moderate impact on seeding in the tourney for some mid-majors. However, like you said a lot of teams use those games to give players experience.

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 03:11 AM) I still don't see Mizzou getting out of the first weekend of the tourney. I can see that argument, there is a way to beat the press. Mizzou is a mediocre half-court team so it's possible they get upset. -
QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 01:10 AM) 14-3 win over Mount St Mary's. Still doesnt make up for last night's debacle. Except midweek games are meaningless.

I just want to laugh at everyone who was so sure Missouri was overrated. That was the 2nd time OU has lost with Griffin this year. Shut up people, shut up. Also, go Northwestern. Big win at Purdue. Maybe they are back on the bubble. Add the fact that Kansas lost so Mizzou still has a 1% chance of splitting the Big 12 title and the Bulls won and this was a spectacular basketball night for me. -

For all the bashing of the Alexei was the best 2B in the AL statement, I thought he meant defensively only. I believe you have at least an argument in that case.
