  3. Haigwood was traded along with Gio Gonzalez and Aaron Rowand to the Phillies for Jim Thome and cash on November 25, 2005.
  4. King was released by the White Sox.
  5. Brice was released by the White Sox.
  6. Bullard was released by the White Sox.
  7. Daigle signed with the Orioles this offseason.
  8. Baj got traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks for Alex Cintron on March 8th.
  9. Virginia=UConn for the sake of this argument. George Mason is a division 1 team that got an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. Chaminade isn't even D1.
  10. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) They're really not a true mid major though. The a10 isn't a bcs conference but it's kind of in the middle between mid major and power conference. Yeah, if it's possible for a team out of their conference to be a #1 seed they aren't in a mid-major conference. St. Joseph's recently was a #1. Even Memphis pulled a #1 seed out of C-USA, that's far from a power conference this year.
  11. The question is what happens to George Mason in the future? Even if they lose in the Final 4 that is a huge accomplishment. Will they become like Gonzaga where they are in a mid-major conference but are consistently in the top 25 and recruiting top talent? While Gonzaga has never made the Final 4, they made multiple tourney runs before they became a powerhouse. Let's go one step further: what if George Mason wins it all? Is that what they have to do in order to maintain good teams? It will be very interesting to see what happens because not only are they the lowest Final 4 seed ever, I don't think a mid-major team has ever made it before. There is no previous case of a mid-major in the Final 4.
  12. LSU is literally the strongest team left. They can outmuscle anyone, with the possible exception of George Mason. I really think GMU can get it done if they aren't nervous. With that said, they have been playing like they have nothing to lose and the other three teams couldn't have expected to get this far so they are going to be as rattled as George Mason.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) Florida, although hell George Mason could for all I know. But Florida seems like the best team by a significant margin right now. I haven't gotten that feel at all. LSU has looked the strongest. George Mason doesn't seem like they can be defeated. LSU and George Mason really are similar teams. Two big guys who aren't that tall, but make up for it with strength, and guards that are good enough to compliment the big guys. Not to mention Lewis and Davis are very similar players.
  14. Can UCLA forfeit their Final Four game due to the fact that they sucked so horribly in victory? Memphis just sucked more. LSU or UCLA will have to go to the title game. :puke
  15. I think it will be a good hire. His style of ball will be fun to watch if nothing else.
  16. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 02:28 AM) anyone else remember Ryan hogan from deerfield? He got injured during his senior year and if I remember right he was never the same after. Oddly enough he got hurt against GBN.
  17. GBN beats Warren 48-41. I don't know how you guys can really doubt GBN to be honest. The state champ is probably going to come from the GBN vs. Simeon quarterfinal.
  18. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 10:46 AM) GBN vs. Stevenson on Tuesday is intriguing. Stevenson can come out and shock some people if they are overlooked. Or not- 46-33 GBN. Pretty close and low scoring game. Scheyer held to 10 points but had 6 assists, 4 starters in double figures for GBN including a double double from Zach Kelly.
  19. All the big names are still alive, the upsets should start flying in the sectionals though. GBN is looking good so far with a total destruction of Jacobs, which means nothing, but still from what I heard they played well.
  20. Scheyer and Sherron Collins were both named to the west team of the McDonald's High School All-American game.
  21. I was able to watch some of the GBN game on tv because I'm home this weekend and I'm impressed at the development of the supporting cast. Every year the team improves tons as the year goes on. I have faith GBN will get it done again this year, but it's not going to be easy because everyone is gunning for them.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 09:13 PM) How are your two teams looking for the postseason this year? If this is a diss I know they both blow. NU has an outside chance of the NIT, but I'm not sure they can be .500 or better by season's end. I'd be surprised if Mizzou won another game.
  23. QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 09:08 PM) i think that statement almost made me cry Yeah, I'm gonna be honest I was trying to jab Illinois. It's not every decade that Penn St. wins in Champaign.
