QUOTE(Beastly @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) White Sox rookies coming up usually do well in their first game. Where were you last year? Anyway, I just don't see how we can put BMac in the rotation yet. He would get rocked IMO. He hasn't shown dominance in AAA at all. He has walked a lot more batters than last season and has been inconsistent. I would rather see the Sox skip him in the rotation.

QUOTE(Randar68 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) LOL! They start more aggressively testing for steroids and THEN Amador goes nuts. HA! Brian Roberts too.
-
Well the real question is whether Rodriguez getting moved up would be permanent or temporary only until the Sox can sign a guy or stretch out Ryan Meaux like they did last year.
-
Merged topics. People sure are happy to see him back in the org., myself included.

QUOTE(backman @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) No Jason white, no one wants him? ok he had some struggles in the big game but he got a good arm and would be a fine 7th round draft pick, and what about Timmy Chang, no love for the NCAA Division I-A passing and total-offense record holder, common great 7th round pick! Timmy Chang sucks. The guy didn't even get all the snaps for Hawaii.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) What makes you iffy about Tyson? He played great defense. Pike really only took 1 bad shot. Did you watch the game? Tyson got in early foul trouble and was a non factor until the 4th quarter. Pike missed 2 layups and took that deep 3 that he shouldn't have.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) thats a bunch of crap, they've both been good for us this year and kept us in the games and yeah, for the last couple outings they've gotten high pitch counts fast, but chill, its the beginning of the season and so far things are working out for us. COUNT and DUKE.... YES! No, what he said is fact. Doing well and doing it pretty are 2 entirely different things. El Duque has a 1.70 WHIP and Contreras is averaging more than 5 walks per 9 innings. That's ugly. With that said both have ERAs under 3.5 so I can't complain.

I'm guessing that, assuming they move up a starter, it will be Ryan Rodriguez getting the spot start. While it would be Flores' turn in the rotation Tuesday for the 'Hogs, they have an off day Monday so Rodriguez would be pitching on 4 days rest. Plus the Sox already had him pitch in a spot start (or 2?) for Charlotte last season.

Robb Montenegro, Björn Soviet Union (LOL!), or Sam Quebec depending on which variation of my first name I use.

Thanks for whoever renamed the other game thread. Show? Good times. GO BULLS!

How in the hell are we 15-4? WOW!

QUOTE(bulokis @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) Great to see BMAC with a nice outing bouncing back from a couple of bad ones. Is that Greg Norton back with us? Yep, see the Norton thread for minor details. 'Hogs win 7-3. Collaro 3-4 with 2 RBI and a run, .375 on the season, wow. Schnurstein 2-4, 2 RBI, 1 run. Haigwood with 5.2 shutout innings. Box Score

Brian Anderson had himself a day. He struck out in the bottom of the 7th with the bases loaded and 2 outs for a chance to get a cycle. He was a single short. 3-4, 2B, 3B, HR, 3 RBI, 3 runs for Anderson. The Knights win 7-2. Burke also hit a HR. BMac 6 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 8 K, 2 BB, 7 hits. Spidale 2-4, Norton 1-3 with a walk in his debut. Box Score

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Is there a playoff game today? LOL, this talk should be seperated from the thread IMO. This is why game threads shouldn't be made more than a day before the game starts.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) It makes you wonder a little more with each outing if Honel really deserved that 40-man spot over guys like Bull. Didn't the Sox have to protect Honel though? If they kept him off someone would have taken the risk in the Rule V. Or at least that might have been the case.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) Hey greasy if you are reading this, what do you think of Trai Essex? I saw he was from your area and thought I would ask, he's from NW so Danman or others could probably help me out also. A bit late, but as greasy said he played OLine during his career at NU. He was a pretty mobile guy. NU pulls their lineman a lot with their unique running offense. He is a strong lineman who I think has potential to be a starter in this league. I think it's a solid pick, though, I'm surprised he went as high as he did.

QUOTE(ISF @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) Yup. If he keeps playing like this, I'll happily jump on the bandwagon. But I gotta see it in May and June before I do. Why are you so harsh on him? What's to say he didn't have the typical sophomore slump?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 06:59 PM) And I'll be the first to take a fastball to the nuts :banghead Best. Convo. Ever.

Man, I can't believe Luis Castillo went in the 1st round. Good for him, he was a stud up the middle this year while playing through injuries. What really bugs me is that the 1st round took so long that I turned it off after the Falcons picked at 27. Castillo went next at 28. Anyway, cheers to Castillo.

Oakland is taking Rodgers, that's why they traded up. Edit: Wow, I was wrong. I thought they traded up to get ahead of the Packers who look like a fit for Rodgers. I expect GB to take him now.

Here's a better comparison so people defending Rowand so quickly. Scott Pod one good season going into 05. Rowand one good season going into 05. Yet people loved Rowand and thought Scott Pod would blow. I'm just saying that people are all over Rowand a little too easily.

It's funny how people change their minds so quickly. Everybody hated the Carlos Lee trade, but in reality it improved the team even if some think we didn't get straight up quality value.

Barons Box Score Warthogs win 8-6. Valido is scorching still, .358 on the season. 2-3, HR, RBI, BB, 3 runs last night. Schnurstein 2-4, HR, 3 RBI, 2 runs, .320 on the season. Collaro went 2-4, he's at .321. Bakker got rocked. Miller, Castro, and Wasserman combined for 4 shutout innings from the pen to allow the comeback. Box Score Kanny lost 2-1. Not much to say. Short and wild outing from Harrell, great bullpen. Box Score

Don't forget Rex. He's been here longer and you just left him out to dry. :headshake

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) You may just get to write some stories about Quinn Snyder getting s***canned. Oh and you'll learn just how crappy I really am On a side note, you just became the 3rd person with a Kristin Kreuk avatar. Welcome to the club.
