  1. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) You mean the phoney beer commercial? LOL!!!!!! I remember that one. "SAMUEL JACKSON!!!!!!! ITS MY BEER!!!!!!!!!!" Yep, that's the one. Also, the Star Wars one. There is a jedi molestation scandal, lol. "Yes they deserve to die!!! I hope they burn in hell!!" OMG I love Chapelle Show.
  2. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) I will gladly eat crow for my crede bashing if he can play well. It's all about the W's dude. Haha, the funny thing is I posted that with you in mind.
  3. I would just like to say that this thread should never die to show up all the former Crede haters.
  4. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) Smit is a pitcher and is Dutch. Yeah I wasn't talking about the Aussie that DBAH0 said signed. BA did a daily dish on this guy the 19th. I forgot that he was Dutch. Oh well, lol. By 'that Aussie from the daily dish' I was talking about the Daily Dish, not the guy DBAH0 was talking about. But you are right, I don't know why I thought he was an Aussie with that name.
  5. Happy birthday you lazy sob! Now get the top 5 up before and
  6. From what I know from a bunch of my friends this year, Illinois can be easy or hard to get into depending on where you are from, even within the state. A ton of people apply to U of I from my HS and because of that ridiculous number they create artificial competition. Colleges don't want 100 kids from the same high school so they have to deny kids they would normally accept. Therefore, it's hard to get into when you are coming from well-off schools where almost all of the kids go to college. This is probably true of a lot of state schools, but more so for Ill. because it is much cheaper than a lot of other state schools (for in state students of that state). On a side note, I'm heading to the University of Missouri for journalism. The funny thing is that, while the school mostly consists of Missouri citizens, the Journalism School (since it's such a quality school, one of the best in the country) said they get most of their kids from the Chicago area. I'm loving that.
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 09:46 AM) I remember this from the ESPY's a few years ago. Yeah, it's awesome. I love Sameul L. Jackson when he gets mad. And then Chapelle's knock off Jackson. Oh man, has me rolling.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) I sure hope so. The Twinkies signed a really good SS prospect down here last week. Boston, San Diego and Minny pretty much own this area. Yeah I read about that Aussie from the daily dish at BA. Alex Smit.
  9. I like Stephen A. Yeah, he gets a little too nutsy but it's funny. He's best when talking about other sports because he makes fun of the players like a fan would, not like an analyst.

  11. We're going to lose now that you gave the game thread that awful title.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) damn, what is wrong with our AAA team.... i would of thought an OF consistenting of Spidale, Giambi, Borchard, and Anderson would be good. And pitching of Stewart, Atkins, Baj, Munoz, B-mac..... I thought they would at least be decent.... but i guess what matters the most in the minors is the individual achievement over team... Well, no team is ever expected to be this bad. They are looking at a 1-12 record and they are finding ways to lose games. As Jason wrote in his Charlotte preview, their offense was expected to be bad. Let's break it down though, it makes sense when you see that the guys that were supposed to be good are struggling. Adkins had been rocked in first 2 starts until a gem last night (where the Knights lost 1-0). BMac had one great start (their only winner so far) and has surprisingly scuffled in his last 2. Josh Stewart has an ERA of 6 in 3 starts. The rest of the rotation, Villacis and Phillips, have double digit ERAs in 2 starts each and could possibly be overmatched. So right there your rotation is doing really poorly. Adkins, BMac, and Stewart all figure to improve and guys like Bullard and/or Tracey could come in and fill out the end of that rotation by year's end if the other 2 guys don't get it in gear. The lineup completely blows though. You said that OF looks pretty good on paper. Well, Anderson has been damn good. .326 average with good on base and power numbers. Then again, with the lineup around him it would be foolish to pitch to him, so his on base numbers better be good, lol. Giambi is on the DL still, so he might help a little. Spidale just got off the DL and is probably a bit behind in getting ready for the season added with the fact that he is adjusting to a new level. Also, he has been DHing a lot so he may not be 100% and some players struggle hitting when DHing. Borchard sucks, period. Lopez is overmatched, I have no idea why Burke is doing so badly, and the rest of the lineup isn't that good. It's a rough lineup. The bullpen looks pretty solid. Munoz and Winklesas have struggled and it probably won't get much better for either IMO. Smith is recovering of late from a few bad outings and Walker and Sanders have done really well since a bad outing or 2. Baj and Fields have been great. Wow, that was a long post on a bad team haha. I think they are a bad team, but they should get much better once some of these guys get going that are performing well under their capabilities. It wouldn't surprise me for them to be close to .500 ball from the 2nd half of the year on.
  13. Garland, Crede, and Scott Pod getting it done! Probably my 3 favorite players on the team!
  14. Charlotte lost...again. This time 1-0. Adkins pitched great (about time). 6 IP, 1 R, 8 K, 0 BB, 5 hits. Fields continues to lower that ERA and Munoz actually got a shutout inning. Anderson went 2-4 with a double, .326 for him. Nice to see him still hitting despite about everyone else in that lineup struggling. Bikowski 2-3 (.320 Heads). Box Score
  15. This came up in the chat. We were talking about how Shingo has 36% of the White Sox's HRs allowed. That's an oddball stat if ever I heard one. I'm waiting for El Duque's WHIP to surpass his ERA, that would be awesome. It would mean his ERA would be low because it's practically impossible to have a WHIP over 3 because you will get pulled or released before it gets that bad over a long period of time. His ERA is 2.50 and his WHIP is 1.61. If he puts in another couple outings like last, I will have my wish. Anyway, what weird stat would you guys like to see happen? I was thinking Sox things with Shingo and El Duque, but it would be easier to have it throughout baseball.
  16. Bulls off to nice start. Pacers Detroit looking more likely for playoffs with 76ers way up on Atlanta.
  17. And this is the state I will be spending my college years in. I don't know if that's good or bad. :headshake
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) I'm wrong Randy. He was supposed to be starting for them on opening day. I'm going to shoot Alan an email when I get home and see whats wrong with Wes. He did pitch on opening day for the Hogs. He hasn't pitched since, that would be 2 starts missed.
  19. What is the deal with this batgirl?
  20. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) It's only been a freakin week!!!!! Oh sure, quote me when Cerb made the whole statement and I just agreed.
  21. BMac: 5.1 IP, 5 R, 6 K, 2 BB, 7 hits in the loss. Another surprise: Baj gave up a run. Not a good day for soxtalk posters. Bullard is starting tonight, uh oh, watch out Bull we got a jinx going. Anderson 2-4 with a double and a run, he's hitting .308. Lopez went 2-3 with a HR somehow. Box Score Kanny got outdueled today. 1 run on 5 hits against 2 unearned runs on 2 hits. Ouch. Grant Hansen was the victim of his own throwing error in an otherwise good outing. Box Score
  22. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) Charlotte might be the worst team in the International League. 1-10 is pathetic. Might be? They lost again today and are 3 games behind the 2nd to last place team in the league. They are the worst team in the league. However, I remember the Warthogs started something like 0-7 or 1-7 last year. They bounced back the rest of that half and made the playoffs the 2nd half with some more talent from promotions and the draft. Unfortunately for the Knights they don't have 2 halves to wipe the slate clean.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) No BMac? 4.2 IP, 3 R in his last start ain't getting him on there.
  24. Crede's hit streak is up to 10 and I get to keep my sig for another day.
  25. So under which category does this game apply? We are 4-0 in the game two's of series, yet 0-4 when going for a sweep. Something's gotta give.
