  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) I'm definitely with you here and I think mostly everyone would be for that, I just don't think it would happen if he fell to us, hopefully it happens though and I'll be proven wrong. I don't want any part of Stephen Drew at this point. Let the Yankees take him.

    We're #1!

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) Unless we sweep Detroit and KC, our ranking will probably drop to 15 after the A's debacle. But then again, who the hell cares what these tools think? ESPN's rankings came out after the Oakland series.
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) I heard that now in some cases, they remove the nail and kill it somehow, so that it doesn't grow back. You never have an ingrown again, but I bet you have one ugly ass toe. Yeah, both are true. My pediatrician said that if it keeps coming back that is a possibility, but he doesn't recommend it unless it comes back 3 or more times. It's actually both big toes, lol.
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) I'll shoot ya an email in a few. Whisler is supposed to be back in a few days. Then Haig, Rodriguez, Bakker (who should get demoted for Gio and it may happen in a few weeks) and I'd have to think of the others (maybe Flores). This is just off the top of my head. Flores and Haeger are the 2 remaining starters. Both have ERAs under 4 so far.
  5. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) Anyway, I fully expect the Wizards to come out pressing hard in the beginning of the game tonight. Sometimes that works for or against teams so who knows what will happen, but they will bring full intensity from the start, more than anything we saw in Game 1. Ding ding ding. We have a winner.
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) Makes sense. I can tell you that even after they shot up my toe to numb it (which was painful as hell on it's own) it still hurt like a MF'er to have it lifted off the meat and then yanked off. Going through the nail to release presuure sounds painless. Haha yeah I had/have an ingrown toenail. They cut half the nail off after numbing it and then go to work on it. It grew back and became ingrown again. I'm too lazy to get it cut again, it's not that bad. I'm thinking something like that is annoying, but you would get used to it. Once your toes are in your shoes, you don't even think about it. AJ might run a tad slower, but he should be fine.
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) No. Short and to the point. On a similar note I did notice that the Wizards are like a college all-star team from great college teams over the past 7 years. Arenas was on a stud Arizona team during his time there. Blake and Dixon won national titles at Maryland. Haywood and Jamison both went to Final 4s for UNC. Jared Jefferies was a big part of that Indiana runner up team. Not to say the Bulls or a lot of teams don't all have college all-stars on good college teams, but it's still funny how that collection of players came about. Anyway, I fully expect the Wizards to come out pressing hard in the beginning of the game tonight. Sometimes that works for or against teams so who knows what will happen, but they will bring full intensity from the start, more than anything we saw in Game 1.
  8. You forgot Gagne is on the DL. I have him, but I got his temp. replacement Yhency Brazoban. He's been decent and I got Jose Mesa who's been awesome. So I'm good until Gagne gets back.
  9. Gio has been the best, however, our pitching has been freaking sick throughout the minors.
  10. What's with the 'Wally the Warthog to be sponsored by Hanes'?
  11. QUOTE(SEALgep @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) There are a few of us.
  12. QUOTE(SouthSide2004 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) I'm assuming that Stephens is taking Stewart's spot in the rotation, which makes me think they might be putting Diaz back in the rotation once he comes of the DL. Does anyone know if Villacis is being sent down to Birmingham for good or just filling in for Pacheco's start? He took Villacis' spot in the rotation when they moved him down. Villacis is pitching for Bham tonight.
  13. HOLY FLYING f***!!!! What the hell is going on? The Top 25 is done!!! WTF!! BTW Jason, if you are going to edit my stuff, edit it right. You screwed up the tense in part of the Tracey write up.
  14. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/index Go here...Dave Revsine has a little thing about the White Sox, when you load the page. Good piece. Yeah, he went to my high school and attended Northwestern so he must have been the rarity being a Sox fan in a northern suburb.
  15. My personal (least) favorite Reggie Miller play of all-time would have to be the 2 arms extended push off in game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals. That was the only bulls*** way he could have beaten the Bulls, but they still lost the series.
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) That or you could see Bham promote someone to Charlotte. On a sidenote, there is talk Gio may get a promotion faster than some would of suspected. Who would move down? Would they cut a reliever and move someone to the pen? Bakker seems like a good candidate to be shifted if anyone.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) Not sure, but they need to make room for Diaz who should be on his way off the DL. Not if Villacis got moved down to make room for him.
  18. The thing that annoys me about it is that it doesn't work that way. He claims the games they aren't supposed to win are those 42, but that's not the way baseball works. I always thought of that statement about the other 42 being similar to a Yogism. It's true in a sense of the statement and is clever, but completely misses the point.
  19. Buy or Sell. Plaschke: Buys us winning Central because of pitching and OPS. Blackistone: Buys because Twins only team to contend with. Mariotti: Sells because no closer, Garland out of his mind, yadda, yadda. Paige: Buys beacuse of smallball, 1 run games, bullpen working.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 02:28 PM) Also Brice is out with a shoulder injury of some sort. Yeah, right shoulder. Who is new to AAA with Villacis moving down? Diaz back?
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) If its just one start I'd have Adkins or someone else up. I'd go with Adkins after the solid start he had tonight.
  22. A lot of good points except I don't see the team playing .400 ball. Carlos Lee was a dumb player period. I've been saying that and people just ignored me. Good to see I wasn't the only one who thought so! I don't think everything will fall apart. I'm thinking that the Sox, worst case scenario, will play .500 ball the rest of the way. That would put them at 87 wins, which is by no means beyond reason. All it takes is a little better than that and the Sox have 90 wins.
  23. LOL, after the brutal start Owens is hitting .299. Gotta love Anderson consistently hitting. He's putting the doubters to rest and proving that his lack of production last season was due to an injury. Also, Spidale 3-4 gets him at .279. Good to see him hitting well of late, hopefully the rugged start was due to rustiness and the injury. He's back in the field, that's gotta help a bit.
  24. QUOTE(Nokona @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 07:07 PM) Where is bull? He hasnt gotten a chance to talk to us at all this year. Not fair! He should drop that silly dream and have a chat with us He did give us a heads up on the AA and AAA rosters this year. That whole baseball thing kind of has him tied down. :rolly
