Doctor Who anyone? The 50th Anniversary episode was good. It was fan service for the longer running fans, but also had some good more recent references and a good story.

Tom Crean just got bailed out by a questionable charge call. Shot clock was off and IU wasn't fouling while trailing. IU lost anyway. Good finish. -

I still don't understand how Uruguay's ranking is high enough to be in the seeded pot. They needed to qualify from the playoff. That should be all that matters. -
I haven't had any problems with the PSN yet, although when I downloaded a few games I did it around midnight.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 17, 2013 -> 02:10 PM) Are the graphics really much different? Because that NBA game is the only one I've really seen that looked crazy good graphically speaking. Not from what I've noticed, but early in the console it's likely that the developers are still figuring out how to get the most out of the hardware. Not to mention any game out now from a third party probably didn't begin development with the new consoles in mind. Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, etc. have been in production for longer than the announcements of the consoles. They have dev kits, but that's probably not ideal.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 17, 2013 -> 09:45 AM) I hope you're being sarcastic...losing in Palo Alta is not a bad loss...however, that won't matter...their national title hopes took a shot due to the fact that they have a loss, period. I don't think it'll get to the quality of their loss. It certainly matters. There's a reasonable chance it could come down to a 1-loss team for that second spot. Not the most likely scenario, but it could happen. We've seen it before. Once you get that deep everything factors in. -
Yeah, the PS4 is sweet. The software is tons better. So far the games aren't mind blowing, but I'm really enjoying Resogun, which was one of the PS+ perks. Really fun, addictive game.

So Oregon moves up in the rankings and has a clear path to the Pac 12 title game, but did their national title hopes take a shot due to their loss now not looking so good? -

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 16, 2013 -> 05:25 PM) I say kick FG but not like they're playing for much. If you're going to do that, go bootleg. Borges is awful. That's a terrible decision by Hoke to go for it. It's an easy FG. You have the wind. Your defense hasn't given up a TD. It's inexcusably bad from him. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 16, 2013 -> 09:14 AM) This is how you honor military without being flashy and ridiculous Oh boy, that's not loaded or anything. I still say uniforms aren't worth getting worked up over. Enjoy them, hate them, discuss them, but you're not allowed to be offended by them. -

LOL, I didn't realize this was one of the most important days in Illinois history. It wasn't, guys. Relax. I'll go back to my corner and watch from afar. Although I will say that look at the list of top players and where they are going. 90% are going to blue blood schools. It usually plays out that way. A couple exceptions don't make a rule. Xavier has a highly rated class because of the volume of players, not because they landed top tier recruits. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 05:30 PM) Yeah, the game was a borefest. Not surprising that the subs were the only ones who looked interested. Johannsson is fun to watch. That flick he had when he cut inside the defender near the endline to get into the box was sexy. He's got some good moves. Still a bit raw in the finishing category, at least in his time with the US. I'd like to see him start at least one World Cup game. Obviously, it depends on the matchup. Jozy has a more all-around game so you can't bench him and I don't see the US using two outright strikers against many World Cup teams, but the matchup should appear at least once in the group. -

Sorry to rub it in Illinois fans, but are you kidding? Did you really think you would get this guy? Do yourself a favor and assume Illinois will not get a 5-star recruit until they are at least a perennially top 25 program again. Even then, reality check, you probably won't get them very often. The blue chip recruits go to the blue blood schools. It's part of what is ruining college basketball. The same teams win every year with some new superstar, that superstar leaves, but the recruiting remains. -

What a snooze of a US game. To be honest, the Euro games weren't a ton better. Late drama in Portugal, but that was about it for that match. Goalless in Iceland. Tuesday should be fun though. Return legs typically have drama as long as the scoreline is close. -

Put me in the Parker camp. He made some crucial mistakes that may have ultimately cost Duke, but he showed the most talent last night. Parker's supporting cast wasn't good at all compared to Kansas'. -
I downloaded the Playstation app today, which is really cool, but just now it wasn't loading. Seems like a great idea that probably should have happened before, but they say you will be able to order from the PSN store and the PS4 will start downloading remotely.

I hate to say it, but Kansas is pretty loaded. By far the most impressive team tonight. Parker could have won it for Duke, but he made some selfish and poor decisions in key spots. Coach K will be good for him. If he went to Kentucky, he would have left the same player he entered college as. -
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 12, 2013 -> 10:05 PM) I mean, I'd maybe buy an MLB The Show '14 PS4 bundle for $400, but I prefer to buy the 2nd generation models. That's probably years away. The PS3 slim was nearly 3 years after the original.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 12, 2013 -> 09:00 PM) I know saying this is incredibly stupid this early in the year, but I don't know how Andrew Harrison is a projected top-5ish pick. I barely noticed that he was on the floor. I agree completely. Harrison was getting so much hype and he really wasn't impressive. Neither Harrison was. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 12, 2013 -> 09:57 PM) We covered, take THAT Mizzou!! SIU had some good ball movement and a couple nice players, just not enough horses. I'm not overly thrilled with this Mizzou team. I like the freshmen and Clarkson is a star, but there are issues for sure. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 12, 2013 -> 09:58 PM) Mich St and Kentucky are a step above these teams. Way more polished. It's funny, I was thinking the opposite. -
I think it's going to be bundles for a while before we see price drops.

The NBA 2K14 next-gen trailer was so good it is probably going to result in me buying the game. I may wait to get the game on a deal since I have other things I want to play first.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 10, 2013 -> 11:25 AM) Auburn? Theoretically, sure. I just think Bama is that good. Besides, for our Mizzou purposes and slim remaining national title hopes (we need scenarios plural to play out) Alabama needs to be undefeated going into the SEC title game.
