Matt (NorthSideSox72), Blake (witesoxfan) and myself made a FutureSox podcast to talk about White Sox minor leaguers. It's just under 40 minutes long. We talk about our latest top 25 rankings, overrated/underrated prospects, the failures of the athletic outfield prospects in the system so far and what's to come in 2014. Have a listen and tell us what you think. FutureSox Podcast (sorry for the autoplay, not sure I can turn that off)

QUOTE (oldsox @ Mar 26, 2014 -> 08:58 PM) He should be after 2 yrs at Bristol. Just curious, what was Wimmer's signing bonus? Maybe it financed med school, which makes him a smart, practicle dude. 23rd round, 10k or probably less. He spent that money simply living during his time in minor league ball.

Under/under. Expecting some adjustment time, plus we've seen the Cubans don't like April in Chicago. Although would anyone here be disappointed with 25/80? The RBI projection isn't that high relative to the homers, but with this lineup that's probably fair.

The cuts were inevitable. They had a lot of extra names in the organization. Nowhere to put those guys. It's the end of an era for you, Matt, without Remenowsky.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 15, 2014 -> 03:27 PM) So I got me a PS4, I picked up Tomb Raider, pre-ordered Infamous and will wait patiently for MLB The Show. What else is a must have? Resogun.

Iowa doesn't belong in the tourney. Can't lose 6 of 7 at the end of the year.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 07:21 AM) Morton is very underrated. Heard that Perez kid is legit. Yeah, I really like his game. He's 6-7 so a bit small for a 4, which he plays in high school. He's an elite rebounder. Seen him dominate the glass against taller kids, including other DI prospects. He's added a jumper so he is getting close to being able to play the 3. He needs to get better at ballhandling to play a college 3, but he knows that and is working on it. Also a really smart kid, I think top five in his class.

I have a big board in an excel file that I try to keep up to date. I have attached the file in a board post here in the past. I can try to put it on the FS website in some form, although it likely wouldn't be updated as often in that format because it wouldn't be as easy.

Good explanation, thanks. I think the whole level appropriate area part is what hadn't clicked about the game. I'm hoping the Vita version is just a slightly less good looking version. From what I know it's not a very high-performance game anyway.

Since Borderlands 2 got brought up again, I'll mention that I'm considering getting the Vita version, which comes out this month. I haven't touched a Borderlands game before, but have seen little bits of video gameplay to have a concept of what the game is about. Is there any way I should play or is it pretty self explanatory? People talk about level caps with that game, is there a set number of missions in the game or is there always random stuff that pops up? Is it linear?

I was at a triple OT game where Morton beat York 77-74 tonight. Amazing game. Morton was up 16 after 3, but York came back. Then at the end of OT York hit 2 free throws with 3.4 seconds left, then Morton got fouled at the buzzer and a kid made 2 free throws with no time left. In the third OT Morton was up 7 and York still came back to get a tying shot off at the buzzer, but it was well short. That's what single elimination playoff basketball is all about.

LOL no one cares. Also, fire Frank Haith.

A Whitney Young-Stevenson state semifinal would be nasty. A shame those teams can't meet up in a final. The other half of the bracket is nowhere near as good.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 02:05 PM) Every review I have read says that it is buggy as hell and very annoying to play, despite the easter eggs, references, and look Its metascore is in the mid 80s so I don't think every review is saying it is very annoying to play. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 03:04 PM) Sony is having to go through a complete restructure, including getting rid of their SCEA CEO today. Considering he helped found the playstation brand as a whole and the PS4 seemingly being successful, this is very odd. But Sony is a pretty terrible struggling company so I don't know what to think. It's possible Tretton just wanted to see through the launch of PS4 and call it a career. He had been with the company for 19 years. I didn't necessarily see this as a getting rid of thing, although that doesn't mean it isn't.

The South Park game is pretty hot. Recommended for any fans of the show. Tons of references and it looks exactly like the show.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 19, 2014 -> 09:18 AM) I was talking to a friend who knows nothing (I know a little more than nothing) about soccer and we both agreed that that the Saturday morning premier league soccer is awesome. Neither of us really know why but it was great move by NBC to pick it up....well he bets on it pretty heavily. My favorite thing is Match of the Day. That show is like crack. All sports need to copy that model. Who needs studio anchors spouting lame catch phrases over highlights? Let the highlights do the work by themselves with original commentary. -

Barca owned Man City today. The EPL isn't the best league in the world in anyway that shows on the field, and today was another example. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 9, 2014 -> 08:05 PM) Good for him, very courageous move on his part given the timing. This survey of anonymous NFL front office people isn't very positive to say the least. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-f...am-draft-stock/ That's sickening. How do they know it won't work if they don't try? It worked just fine at Mizzou. -
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jan 31, 2014 -> 04:44 PM) Yes. I liked it, but then again, I only paid $5 for it during a big Steam sale. If I had paid the normal price ($20?), I would have been irritated due to its very short length. Also note that it is more of an interactive narrative than a game. I got it through Humble Bundle for $5 and enjoyed it as well. I didn't think it was as great as some reviews I read, but it's well done for what it is.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 04:04 PM) Tomb Raider was sweet on PS3. If I didn't already own it, I'd be the definitive edition immediately. Yeah, Tomb Raider is a must-buy if you haven't already. The story is mediocre, but it's an incredibly fun game. If you like Uncharted, this is comparable. Better in gameplay, not as good in characters/story.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 03:03 PM) Playing Bioshock: Infinite free off PS+ right now. It's definitely not my type of game, but the environment is so beautiful. That being said, I really have no idea what I am doing or why I am doing it, but I guess I'll just continue to power through since everyone says the ending is so good. You could just youtube the ending, the gameplay isn't all that good.

Top White Sox Prospects - 2014 Pre-Season
danman31 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (oldsox @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 01:02 PM) I disagree with you and Wite on Micah Johnson. He put up great numbers as a 22 year old. Okay, he only hit .238 at B'ham at end of season in 21 AB's. So what? One extra hit would have added almost 50 points to his BA there. Plus, he did well in AFL. He stole 87 bases in 2013. I have never seen him play, but he's gotta be one of the most exciting Sox non-pitching prospects in a long time. Some say he is too old (he just turned 23 last month), but that's what happens when you go to college-- you get older. We have three great middle infield prospects in Micah, Semien, and Sanchez. Don't trade them -- yet. Let's see how they do in the next few months. No one cares about what he did at Birmingham. I care about what he did in Winston-Salem, which was over 228 plate appearances and wasn't good (.670 OPS). He made our top 10 for good reason, but he's got major question marks. I'll admit that I had him lower than anyone else in our poll, 13, because of his rocky adjustment to higher levels. -
Official 2013-2014 NCAA Football Thread

If you read more of her back story, I'm not entirely sure her suicide is a result of the assault, which OTL made a leap with. Honestly, I thought it was irresponsible reporting on their part. "Here are some facts that we are going to place next to each other. We're not going to outright say there's a connection because we can't prove it, but we know you're going to think it now!" She already had a mental disorder and maybe the assault put her over the top, but they shouldn't be writing a piece connecting the two. Who knows. I was more concerned with the fact that the assault actually happened and that it involved football players than how the university handled it. Seems weird to write this whole report and focus on how it was handled, which was fair/ok not great, while the actually act of the awful thing is kind of secondary. That's messed up. -
I'd love to do a podcast. I'll see if we can get this organized. We've tried them in the past and done them with other Sox podcasts.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 11, 2014 -> 08:02 PM) Goodbye. Way to ruin your career. Some kids just don't get it. What a waste. First of all, we need to see what the actual charges are before assuming he gets booted. Second, this doesn't ruin his NFL career at all. The NFL doesn't give a s*** about personal stuff. LeGarrette Blount just scored 4 TDs in a playoff game last night after all.
