  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 9, 2013 -> 11:29 PM) It is really hard to see Alabama or FSU losing with their remaining schedules. It's been that way for Alabama before the season started.
  2. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 11:05 PM) I don't know if it sucks that people are offended by him, I think it sucks that they made a uniform that offends some people. I'm glad they are raising money, but when someone in that position writes something like that, I listen. And the blood smattering thing is weird. Everyone sees that, it was just poorly done. You can sneeze and offend people these days. If people are offended by a piece of clothing, let alone one that has good intentions, then that's a sad statement on our society. I don't care who is offended by it or what they've done, it's sad to let fabric offend you. Also, not everyone sees the blood. On first glance I thought of worn clothes style, which is common these days. I think seeing blood is seeing what you want to see. I feel like I'm part of the problem by even commenting on it. It doesn't merit discussion.
  3. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 05:00 PM) I'm just going to keep my mouth shut, not worry about any other team, and enjoy the team that Coach Fisher has put on the field. I'm beyond pumped to go to the game tomorrow. It will be my first one since the bowl game vs ND a couple years ago. Shocked I have a weekend off. This is a good strategy considering how many ignorant opinions have been in this thread in the past day.
  4. Yeah, I don't think the broadcast was off. Oregon was dominated in every facet of the game for 50+ minutes. Got a couple lucky breaks to get back in it, which you could argue cancel out the lucky breaks against them earlier that you referenced. I said it while I was watching the game and I still think it, but why doesn't Oregon kick that early field goal? Always try to score the first points on the road. Gives you some confidence, a lead, gives the home team a chance to doubt itself. In the middle of the game I might go for it there, but situationally I think that was bad.
  5. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 5, 2013 -> 12:41 AM) As a right-handed hitter, I hated to hit lefties. It's not logical, I realize that...but it was so rare to see them, and I didn't hit as well against them. That's most high school age kids.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 2, 2013 -> 11:26 PM) The heart of that team got ripped out against OSU. But ouch. This storyline needs to die. I'll buy that they laid an egg against Wisconsin in a hangover game, but even a healthy and fired up NU team loses that game. The bottom line is they have so many injuries that they just don't have enough firepower out there right now. Reminds me of Missouri last year. If NU had its heart ripped out already, they wouldn't have been in a 99% position to win at Nebraska. That was an impressive performance until that fluke play.
  7. The old Knights' logo was one of my favorite logos in all of sports. Very sad (well as sad as you can get over a logo) to see it go.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 27, 2013 -> 12:20 AM) Nobody knows pain like a Mizzou fan knows pain. Par for the course. Congrats Miami for beating wake forest. That was painful. Hard to find a harder way to lose. I still feel like crap.
  9. It's a f***ed up call because the Cardinals are the only team is baseball that gets that break. That franchise doesn't deserve the luck they get. It's sickening. I don't see how the fielder is punished for trying to make a play on the ball. Why is the runner inside the base line anyway? The more I think about it, the more I just think baseball is a stupid sport. So many dumb rules like this that are weird judgment calls with good arguments going either way. Hard to defend the sport when a game is decided by that.
  10. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 22, 2013 -> 10:32 AM) Biggest winner today was Frank Haith. If what the NCAA says is true, he probably should never coach another game. Getting a 5 game suspension isn't even a slap on the wrist. I wish.
  11. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) Has nothing to do with being jumped. It's not a shot at Missouri. Not their fault Georgia and Florida are spiraling out of control. The bias for the SEC is comical this year. It's comical every year, but it doesn't matter one bit what the rankings are in week 8. It matters what they are later in the year when more games have been played and more teams have lost.
  12. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 11:35 AM) Go from 25th ranked to 5th ranked by beating two SEC teams that are currently a combined 8-6? lol SEC! SEC! SEC! If Miami didn't need a fourth quarter comeback to beat a 1-4 team they wouldn't have been lapped. It doesn't matter in the end. It plays out on the field.
  13. I wonder how the rankings will shake out. Ohio State isn't likely to lose, but that team continues to struggle against mediocre opposition. As opposed to Baylor, which is beating the s*** out of mediocre opposition. Great week of games to set up a fun stretch run.
  14. Blown horse collar call costs A&M against Auburn, but ultimately A&M's defense was so bad. A&M's o-line also let them down on the last drive. Anyone else think Manziel was faking that shoulder injury?
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 19, 2013 -> 05:42 PM) Not having a rooting interest this UM-IU game is the best thing ever. Yeah, that was good fun. I feel bad for IU, but that game was going to be gravy for them. Win the winnable games at home and bowl.
  16. Missouri is on the verge of basically sealing up the SEC East if they beat South Carolina next week. They'd have a two-game lead on everyone plus tiebreakers on the main contenders (unless Tennessee wants to get hot, but they also have to go to Columbia). Mizzou's pass rush is f***ing insane. I know Florida sucks at offense, but man. Still, if the Gators had been committed to running the ball they probably would have fared better. Their QB sucks at passing and Mizzou's pass rush was dominant. You simply have to focus on the run in that match up.
  17. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 10:29 PM) US scores 2 goals in basically stoppage time to win 3-2. Mexico lost 2-1 Mexico moves onto the playoff. Not basically stoppage time, the 92nd and 93rd minutes. Zusi scored at like 1:25 into 3 minutes of stoppage time and the winner came right after. Mexico looked like crap against Costa Rica. They basically gave up after the 75th minute. The way they hex played out, Mexico was clearly the 4th best team. Getting past New Zealand won't be a cinch. I'm not sure if hosting the second leg helps them or not. If New Zealand wins the first leg Mexico could get tight at home like we've seen all hex.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 12:55 PM) Crap. Oh well, more time to play the other games I've yet to finish. Yeah, that's where I stand on this. I was excited for Watch Dogs, but it's coming out too near to Assassin's Creed IV. I can now enjoy AC and not feel like I'm missing out on Watch Dogs or vice versa. Plus it will give me more of a chance to play that South Park game that looks exactly like the show.
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Oct 15, 2013 -> 07:20 PM) Whoa. I love this. I got to watch him pitch in person three times this season. He's a non-prospect. Too old for the level he was pitching at to not strike many guys out.

People are still watching the Walking Dead? Man, ditching that show was such a great decision. I don't have to be frustrated by it anymore. That show started so great with season 1 and then it just devolved into repetition. The comments on last night's episode sound exactly like the show I ditched a year ago.
  21. Heck of a game between A&M/Ole Miss. A&M probably should have put it away earlier, but their D isn't all that good.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 12, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) Franklin will be out a few weeks, said Pinkel Mauk is gonna be a talent, but not yet. Hilarious how again, the calls are "Mizzou hasn't beat anyone, Georgia was so injured!". I don't recall any sympathy last year when mizzou lost 9 offensive lineman and Franklin. I'm gonna relish this victory, it's hard to beat any team on the road, I don't care if Georgia was injured. They were injured at skill positions, which they have a ton of. They weren't missing Murray. They weren't down lineman. Mizzou lost their best CB and QB in this game, and when only up 2, they...scored 2 touchdowns to ice the game. It was a huge game for the program, but it sucks because had franklin stayed healthy, we are legit SEC contenders. Instead, I mean, we have to see how Mauk does. We have a great rushing attack but without that fantastic game management of him we are screwed. THAT SAID, our defense continues to get better. Our defensive line has 2-3 NFL players on there now. Michael Sam, Kony Ealy and Markus Golden are a revelation. I don't think we can take SC and FLA with Mauk. But I'm thrilled for Coach Pinkel, who doubled down on his system and recruiting and brought his team back. Franklin - get better, man. You had NFL possibility before this, please get back and show everyone up. IF we drop 2 to SC and FLA, but get back and beat out the back end of the schedule, possible BCS birth. 1. Franklin is not and never was an NFL-caliber QB prospect. He is a nice dual threat QB with flaws. 2. Franklin is not a good game manager. Watch the IU game again for turnovers in scoring territory. 3. Have some damn faith! We just won in Georgia relatively handily. Our WR core is awesome. Our pass rush is awesome. 4. Florida sucks at offense.

    2013 TV Thread

Great episode of South Park last night. One of my all-time favorites.
  24. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 06:39 AM) Indiana's offense is pretty dang good, once again. Sudfeld will be playing on Sundays IMO. The defense played better than I have ever seen. Hard to believe they lose I think 2 starters to graduation. Make a bowl this year, and Indiana should be a top 25 level team next year. I can't believe I just typed that. Also heard Lou Holtz say Indiana will be Ohio States toughest matchup this year. LOL hard to believe, but I guess it was one heck of a game last season. This reminds me of a discussion I had with a friend about Indiana football. I went to Bloomington for the Mizzou game and the IU friends I was with left in the middle of the third quarter, standard operating procedure. I made sure to read up all the post game reactions from the IU side and was amazed at what I read. Most people thought Indiana was on level terms program wise with Missouri. Just because Mizzou had a garbage year last year (and a 5-7 SEC season is miles better than anything Indiana has done recently) does not mean the programs are close. Mizzou won big as they should. Sorry to rub it in, but I explained my experience and my friend had a great line: Indiana doesn't know good football because they've never seen it. The Hoosiers have some good things and could make a bowl game this year, but they're going to have to win all of their toss up games to get to 6-6, and a 6-6 team on that schedule should not be thinking about the top 25 the following year. The only reason we're entertaining the thought about IU in a bowl game is because they have a bunch of s***ty teams coming to Bloomington. IU could make a bowl, but they're only going to do it if they don't beat a team with a winning record along the way.
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 11:02 PM) Really obvious he was short. Hey, f*** you.
