I've been a Falcons fan since the Jamal Anderson days. Their d probably has inflated stats right now, but 11th in the league is a solid start. Honestly, I don't think they can make a deep run into the playoffs, but they will get there and they have a chance of doing a little damage there.

If the Skins win tonight I'll be tied with Dbaho for the lead. If the Cowboys win, Dbaho will have some nice seperation.

The Sox finish a nice 46-35 at home. Good for 6th best in the AL.

Soxtalk Poker thread
Agreed. I had the same thing happen to me today. Pocket aces to start. I felt bad for going all in on the flop of the first hand, but I had rockets...I ended up knocking out 3 idiots on that hand and finished off the rest to win the tourney. Last night I was playing with my friends in a cash game. I brought one of my best friends for the first time. I didn't even know he played cards until Thursday so I had no idea how good he was. He was being very aggressive at a very passive table. 2 of the 8 players were aggressive, we were missing a couple of our more aggressive players due to Yom Kippur. My friend raises to a dollar, but he had been so aggressive that I decided to call with k 9 o. I was the only caller. Flop comes 9 8 x. So I have top pair and like my chances. My friend raises another dollar. I raise all in with $2.60. He calls the extra $1.60 and flips over pocket 7s. Obviously, I read my opponent correctly, made the correct call, and was the overwhelming favorite. Turn comes a 10, and my only thought process at the moment was good that's a blank. I see the dealer flip the river and first glance I realized it was a picture card giving me the win. Then the Jack hits the table. I pause...and realize he caught a running straight. O-u-c-h. That was the difference between me finishing with no money (I wasn't going to buy back in after that hand) and having around $8 on the night ($5 buy in). After never losing money in cash games, I've hit a horrid streak where I've lost in 3 of the last 4.

So much for the complete game, now let's not let the reliever jack up his ERA in this inning.

That was one of the worst 2 minute drills I have ever seen.

Oh really? :rolly 3-0 baby! What a weird ass game today though. Each team had 4 turnovers including multiple in the redzone. 6-3 over the Cardinals is very meh, but 3-0 isn't.

i wish they would push back the fences
Jason, look at the numbers. The numbers may be high regardless, but they are much higher at Comiskey. It's obvious that Comiskey has something to do with it. Ever think that our power hitters and crappy pitching could be because of Comiskey inflating the stats?

White Sox HRs at home: 139 (Konerko leads the majors with 29 at his home park) White Sox HRs on the road: 83 Opponents HRs at Comiskey: 125 Opponents HRs at home: 90 Hmm, only a slight difference.

Valdez will not have a better year than Crede next season.

Terrifying Stat
Well, it started when the offense couldn't do s*** from the Twins series to the Tigers series in Detroit. Then the pitching collapsed without a lineup capable of keeping the team winning games at a consistant rate.

Please guess (don't look it up) the number of pitchers the Sox have with an ERA under 4 since the All-Star break, not including September call-ups. The answer is....(drumroll please)...0. Oddly enough only Arnie Munoz has an ERA under 4 of all pitchers, but as a Sept. call-up I didn't count him. He has an ERA of 1.13 since the break, but his season long ERA stands at 9.82. Shingo is closest at 4.01.

As much as I know is this: similar to baseball there is a pitcher and hitter of sorts. The "hitter" hits the ball and runs back and forth between what is similar to bases except there are only 2 of them. Each time you touch a base I think it's a score of sorts. The fielding team has to tag him while he is off the base or wait for play to stop (I don't know when they determine that). There are ways to get the guy out like catching the ball thing I think is one of them. As for how long it lasts it has to do with the overs I think they are called (like innings) and there are a certain numbers of "outs" for each over. I don't really get the overs part. Mostly it's hazy to me, but I'm only a few holes away from getting the sport. Oh about Roma...a fan threw something at the ref towards the end of the 1st half of the CL opener against Dynamo Kiev after he gave Christian Chivu a red card a few minutes earlier. Roma was losing 1-0 and was given a forfeit. They now have to play their remaining 2 CL home games in group play at a neutral site. :fyou UEFA

Too Early to Judge Valdez?
As a utility guy he has shown so far that he can do that. However, I want to see him play every 3 or 4 games and then see how he performs. That's likely what he'll be doing next season and I think that being able to hit under those circumstances would prove he can be a utility man. The factor that Jose can be replaced by Uribe and Harris along with the factor of not having to pay him means that he shouldn't be here next year. Valdez being a capable utility man would make it all the better.

Honestly, I don't think there is a big difference between rugby and Aussie football. They look the same to me. As for the Champions League I don't have a pick, but my favorite Euro team is Roma and they are pretty f***ed. It's ridiculous though. If the White Sox got banned from Comiskey after the Gamboa incident there would be f***ing hell to pay. Why does the team have to pay for it's fans? UEFA is f***ing retarded with it's stadium bans. Oh, and cricket is actually somewhat simple. I don't know the specifics of it, but I understand the basics.
