  1. Maddon already said it was a bad move my Lopez. I think it's done, no reason to throw at him.
  2. I'm glad Juan is our DH today....we've had excellent LF defense in his stead.
  3. Due to price and the fact I'm soon looking to move from DirecTV to UVerse, I dropped Extra Innings this year after having it for the past 6 or 7 years. I already miss it. I've found MLBTV to be choppy at times and fuzzy at others. I have a 6MB connection, usually running about 5.5MB, so bandwidth constraint shouldn't be causing these issues.
  4. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 05:25 PM) Where does it say this?! Ha! Sorry, didn't read the link just posted the link from FB. It said on FB from Founders that the Cell is getting Red's Rye PA and Cincinnati is getting Centennial IPA.
  5. Saw this on my FB today....Founders Red's Rye PA will be at the Cell http://www.foundersbrewing.com/the-lineup/reds-rye-pa
  6. I've got to admit I found it pretty funny that there was a Google Chrome ad that played before the site allowed me to watch the White Sox ad. An ad for an ad.
  7. Damn...really wanted to see Sale in that role. You don't mess with what works.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 19, 2011 -> 09:17 AM) Milledge was on the radio last night after the game. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/?podcast_url=h...mp;dcid=CBS.CHI For a player who some take as downright arrogant, he sounded very grounded in that interview. I loved the things he had to say about understanding that he's not fighting for a starting role but rather to prove that he can provide a good team with solid depth. I think it's important for a player to recognize their current role and put any past accolades or success behind them...to concentrate on the now....and it seems Lastings is doing just that.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 06:50 PM) If he hits like this, he can play LF over Pierre. Better yet, RF over CQ.
  10. Sale. Matty is good at what he does, leave him there. And I agree with the dude who mentioned Sale having much stronger secondary and tertiary pitches...Thornton is pretty much a "here it is, hit it if you can" kind of guy with very little deception. I don't like that trait in a closer, personally.
  11. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Mar 6, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) The Bulls' second unit is the tits. Best 2nd unit in the league. Absolutely. I love how you can have your second unit in against the Heat's big 3 and the Heat could do nothing with that advantage. The 2nd unit D is just phenomenal and has been pretty damn consistent all season long.
  12. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) The White Sox got more love from MLB Network than anybody when they featured the team on the doc series The Show. And Rod Allen is a tool and they were laughing at him because he was such a homer listing the Sox behind the Tigers. The reason? Allen went on to say the bullpen. He said Sale (4 saves last season) and Thornton (8 saves last season) have NO closing experience...way to be informed on national TV, buddy. Allen is one of my favorite color guys to listen to on Extra Innings....he knows the Sox well and he is always very complimentary. But I suppose it's not much of a surprise that he'd be a homer in front of a national audience.....that'd be like expecting Hawk to rave about the twins...errr
  13. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 12, 2011 -> 12:50 PM) I voted for Danks, but if we're going to ask who is the best at their job, it would be Thornton. I had voted for Thornton and did indeed use your rationale. There's really no one else on the team who consistently goes out and fills his role as well as MT.
  14. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Feb 10, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) Yeah Jaime you and your husband are genuine hypocrites. Vick SHOULD HAVE walked away after being ambushed by that "reporter" with the pics. What is he supposed to do, stand there and argue with him? Okay I understand that he and his wife has a problem with what Vick did. But to wish that Vick gets hurt on the field? Buehrle and his wife should know better. They are very fortunate that Mark has never suffered a severe injury. Damn I really hate that this came out. I like Mark Buehrle a LOT less after today. I'm almost at the point where I wish he would f*** off and take the next thing smoking to St. Louis and the Cardinals. Hopefully this will die down, but as of right now - f*** Mark Buehrle. So it's wrong for Mark Buehrle to advocate for Mike Vick to get hurt playing in what is essentially a blood sport because Mike Vick wanted dogs to get hurt/killed in blood sport? I'd disagree...that seems pretty fair to me.
  15. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 5, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) I would think every team in the MLB would be after or inquring about this guy (or at least make an offer, trade a guy to make room for him, etc..). It's Albert Pujols for gods sakes. Absolutely....I feel it's completely irrelevant what 1B teams like NYY and BOS have....this is Albert Pujols....the greatest player in MLB and one of the greatest of all-time. If you can get him, you get him...figure out how to shuffle the roster later.
  16. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Feb 2, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) I wake up to work at 5 every day. Today I woke up and heard Mulli and Hanley say that North Ave. from 59 to 355 was unpassable. I got excited because that's the route my dad and I take to work, but I didn't fall back asleep because my dad told his people that we would have work today. So we shovel the driveway all the way to the street, which hasn't been touched. He tries the street anyway, gets stuck. We're about 10 houses from the entrance to the subdivision shoveling in front of the car till we get to the mouth of the subdivision. Some guys helped us out along the way with their snowblowers, so bless them, but when we're 4 houses from the end maybe 2.5 hours into it the city plowers make it through the subdivision and effortlessly clean the street. Wow. 2 people bothered to show up at work. Why would your dad possibly insist people come in today? I don't think it's a matter of people not "bothering" to show up...it's that they couldn't show up.
  17. I couldn't find anything on the official site so I probably already know the answer to this but do the Sox have weekly tours of the Cell?
  18. Bob Dylan -- I Believe in You Ryan Adams -- Firecracker Mountain Goats -- Zipilote Machine Radiohead -- Scatterbrain Oasis -- D'You Know What I Mean REM -- So Fast, So Numb Bob Marley -- Liven Up Yourself Mobb Deep -- An Eye for an Eye Tribe Called Quest -- Clap Your Hands Jimi Hendrix -- Up From the Skies
  19. I only saw Nova last year against the Sox but that kid has a future....very impressive. If the Sox could get him, which they won't, but if they did it'd be a steal.
  20. I hate the idea of evaluating the value of a manager by player statistics. It should be a much more granular study involving specific managerial decisions (pitching changes, walking with an open base, sac bunts, etc.) and how those decisions impacted the outcome of each game.
  21. Considering our upcoming schedule, this is about as good of a time as any for Noah to go under the knife. Taj and Booz will do work.
  22. QUOTE (joeynach @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 07:53 PM) I dont understand why you would want to trade CQ now, what to save 4M. You already spent $120 if you want bullpen help go out and get a guy for 4 or 5M. He is still a capable part of our lineup who at any moment can carry our club for an extended period of time. CQ still owns 162 game average of .251/.347/.488/.835 with 32 HR and 100 RBI. I know he sucks defensively but where else do u get that kind of production for 4.5M or whatever he is going to get in arbitration. Also how many teams can say they have a 6th hitter who averages 32 HR and 100 RBI. And you want to get rid of that for a reliever and put who exactly in RF, and who exactly is going to replace all that offensive production for your 1, maybe 2 relievers. Word. With a whole helluva lot less pressure on him this season, or atleast lower expectations, I think he's going to murder the ball and put up some monster numbers.
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 9, 2010 -> 11:42 AM) Posting from my phone. Could be a rumor but I hear the Sox are deep in talks that involve some of our top prospects for pitching. Maybe we are also trading someone from our rotation? I sure hope that means we're trading someone from the rotation otherwise this signals a big red flag on the Sox expectations for Peavy. You don't trade top prospects for a 2-3 month 5th starter stop gap.
  24. Luke Scott shouldn't have done this interview. He comes across as not only a complete douche but also a birther. Orioles have distanced themselves from his comments.
