QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 4, 2011 -> 07:10 PM) Zeller (and Henson) are a completely different story when it comes to draft stock. Barnes is a consensus top-5 pick (maybe higher), those kind of guys rarely go back to school (Griffin and Noah are the only recent ones that come to mind, and Sullinger from all indications). Henson usually shows up as a fringe lottery guy at best and Zeller is closer to 20. Both could potentially end up in the lottery with another year of development, with Henson potentially making the high lottery. There's certainly value in being a lock first rounder, but probably less so in a likely lockout year. Just based on draft stock, Barnes leaving makes by far the most sense, followed by Henson and then Zeller a distant third. Obviously that doesn't mean that they'll stay though. From hearing from his friends in Ames, he's leaning towards staying.

As an Iowa State fan, I like this news. Could also mean Frank Martin heading home.

Maybe we can see if we can get a prize this year. Maybe an autographed something or other.

QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 06:39 PM) None of those schools sans maybe Indiana and UCLA need him. I'd consider Tennessee if I was him - depending on the NCAA stuff. Tennessee is more radioactive than Japan right now.

Donkey Bomb Lillibridge HR Beckham 3B Dunn HR- ST: 3/25 vs Diamondbacks
Naturally, Lillibridge with the leadoff homer.- Sox Sign Dexter Carter
IChaseBlackwood brought it up in the Catch All, but there's one piece of the Peavy trade back.- Awesome Sox commercial
The whole tearing off the jersey to reveal another jersey is pretty awesome as well.- Official 2010-2011 NCAA Basketball Thread
Anything that puts another Big 12 school in rebuild mode while ISU stays quiet for an offseason is fine by me.- Official 2010-2011 NCAA Basketball Thread
Yup, Katz has taken the bold step of predicting Anderson goes to Arkansas.....unless he stays at Mizzou.- Humber
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 09:19 PM) If a crazy, suicidal f*** jumps off the top of the Sears Tower (I will never refer to it as the Willis Tower), I don't have to wait until he/she hits the ground to no that fool is dead. s***ty analogy. But same difference. I know you're an optimist. I have no problem with that. It's a natural tendency to think the team that you cheer for and love can do something with a player(s) that nobody else could. But those that are not drinking the kool-aid just because said player happens to be a White Sox shouldn't be looked upon as evil demons that just like to be negative for the sake of being negative. I've said this many times before. If the Cubs were set to insert Humber into their rotation EVERY single poster on this board, and that includes you SS2K5 and JoeCool, would be laughing their asses off. This is undeniable fact. Now if somehow, someway, Humber pulls a horseshoe out his ass and is even serviceable, great. It won't make me feel stupid for not expecting a thing from him this year. He's done nothing in his career, outside of being a high draft pick sever years ago, that warrants any type of faith. True, you don't need to have faith, but until he does something to prove that he's not serviceable, there's no reason to repeatedly s*** all over the guy.- Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) I'm only angry at Peavy because he cannot stay healthy. He'd find a way to injure himself while watching TV. I'd be more pissed off if I thought this was something that was completely avoidable. - ST: 3/25 vs Diamondbacks
