QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 05:18 PM) I keep telling you not to get that excited with Chris Allen. He basically was a bust at Michigan State. White's the one with the exciting potential, IMO. It's still a different fit for him.

Mark Buehrle talks about the future after 2011
Ha, I love people talking about Mark like he's 35 and his fastball could drop from 95 to 90. He turns 32 this March.

Well, at least we scared Mizzou. If next year's team, the one that will have Chris Allen and Royce White and actual talent, plays as hard as this year's, they are Top 25. I just hope Baylor is the 5 seed in the Big 12 tourney.

Matt Thornton
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 12:40 AM) Throws hard. With his left hand too. Seems to befuddle some.

Mark Buehrle
I also like him. He throws with his left hand, and he has been at least decent at this skill for a number of years. While his compensation may not actually match his production as some White Sox fans would like, I would assume most want to see him in a Sox uniform for years to come. Thoughts?

Comcast Sports Net out of town?
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 16, 2011 -> 12:04 PM) Ya, the blackout rules are horrendous. Sox games blacked out in Carbondale, are you kidding me? I love not being able to watch the Sox on MLB.tv in central Iowa. Guess I should just buck up and drive to Chicago.

2011 TV Thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 14, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) I find every character on "Shameless" interesting and entertaining. The joke between the principal and the teacher a little into the credits last night was hilarious.

Heh, someone on College Gameday at Florida a couple weeks ago snuck in a sign that said "You can't spell cocksucker without UK" Also, here's a good article on Royce White and how he, again, has been in no trouble and has been a perfect fit in Ames. He did whatever in the Twin Cities, but he's fitting in well now. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/2...s-with-Cyclones

Sox to go with four man rotation to start the season?
Any mentions of Pena starting again make me want to vomit. Anyways, Ozzie's take on this is kind of curious, for him at least. As far as Peavy, I'd thought I'd read that his lat is good to go, and now its a simple as getting that arm strength back. He's either going to be ready, or he's not going to be, but it's useless to speculate until we see what happens in ST. I'm not going to demand he start on the DL unless he's simply not ready to go. As far as that fifth spot, I'd prefer to throw whoever out there if Jake isn't ready to go and not have to go on short rest.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 07:23 PM) Korie Lucious will head to either Iowa State or Marquette. And the Des Moines Register is reporting Marquette has no interest. Looks like we've got our point guard for 2012-2013.

QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) Shameless might be my favorite show on TV right now. It's pretty outstanding. I kind of wondered how they would make so many characters work, but they are pulling it off so far.

QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) What game are you referring to? And Heads, don't lump me in with Hawkeyes fans that want the worst for ISU. I have no beef at all with ISU, and hope Hoiberg gets them turned around. "The" recruiting game. I don't think I'd call him dirty, but he knows what to do. And I know you aren't. Just saying that Royce and Chris have been great (I know Royce has been going to class too) as well as Babb and Booker. Having 5 different guys sit out at once has helped them, I think.

I'm close with the ISU basketball program. FWIW, White and Allen have stayed COMPLETELY out of trouble. Say what you want about what they did before, but they have been perfect fits so far, with both the guys embracing their role on the scout team. And fathom, everything I've heard is that Hoiberg knows how to play the game.

QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 2, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) Michigan St isn't even trying it appears. I've been saying this for a while, but there has got to be some major issues going on with that program. They keep running off players, but the attitude of some of their younger players is awful as well. Poor Izzo, should have taken the Bulls job. Wow. On a side note, Iowa State is showing interest in Lucious, because.....why not.
