Troy Smith could not have sailed that pass any more perfectly into the Rams secondary. And now Smith and Singletary arguing on the sideline.

white sox the mystery team for Adrian Beltre?
QUOTE (gatnom @ Dec 25, 2010 -> 11:05 PM) With Pena and Sale as your 4th and 5th starters, you are going to really tax your bullpen. Not to mention being an awful, awful team. I hope last season is the last time I ever see Tony Pena start a game. The infatuation with trading a starting pitcher this year is f***ing ridiculous.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 25, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) The Chicago Bulls at 100% can give any team in the east a serious run for their money. ANY team. Pretty sure any team at 100% in the East is pretty damn good. Wouldn't want to face Miami, Orlando or Boston at 100% either.

Kinda funny, cause I know everyone hates ESPN, but they pretty much had us top 5 in their power rankings at the winter meetings.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 24, 2010 -> 07:37 AM) And if you increase that .294 BABIP to anywhere near his career total (.320), or the roughly .310 it was over the previous 4 years, that OBP would increase right along side the HBP, and he'd probably get another double or triple out of the deal too. I really think people are making too big of a deal out of the HBP. If people are going to pitch Pierre inside, he's going to lean into the pitch. I guess I didn't watch the games, but I have a feeling they weren't hitting Pierre square in the back or ribs every time he went to the plate, so it was simply a matter of finding a way on base, and rather than swinging at a pitch, he understood that he needed to get on base and did whatever he could to do so. Juan Pierre isn't a good player, and I am not a fan, but he's honestly not a problem. People that b**** about him are seriously just trying to find a scapegoat before the season starts. He's going to hit around .270-.300, he's going to put up an OBP around .330-.350, he's not going to hit for power, he's not going to throw me out on a single to left field after my leadoff double, and he's going to catch pretty much everything in his area. There's plenty of good and bad to go around about his game, but he is quite seriously the least of the worries. Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 10:57 PM) Let's be honest, its not that they sold the items, its that it was something you could track back to the player. Over 100 players in each bowl game are getting care packages like an XBOX360, how many of those do you think are going to be sold for cash? The items they sold were clearly tracked back to them which made the NCAA have to do something. Does this mean I can't sell my bowl swag from last year?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 04:52 PM) Well, it seems odd that you can like the Raiders to cover 3 but not see them winning outright? As for the Colts' turnovers, their pathetic run defense has a ton to do with their losses! Part of the reason Manning has thrown more this season than in any other season in his career is because they have been behind so often, and that has led to turnovers. Obviously it has a lot to do with so many of his weapons being out, but if they had a run defense worth a crap, they would be able to stay in games longer and not be forced to throw so much. For some reason I thought it was Colts -6.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 04:50 PM) And those turnovers are, at least to me, basically a function of their injuries. Collie, mainly. Of course, Manning didn't have Addai at that point as well. The Colts will have their top two running backs back instead of depending on Hart/James. I'm not trying to diminish the loss of Collie or overstate the return of Addai. He's not great. But he certainly sucks a lot less than the previous options.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) Still on the Raiders. I don't see much wrong with taking the Raiders to cover, but beating them outright...eh. The Colts porous run defense has had a lot less to do with their losses than turnovers.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 04:31 PM) I guess what I should say is he doesn't scare me at all. I'm still on the Raiders or laying off it...definitely not betting the Colts. I've been fading them for weeks and weeks now... He's still far and away better than Brown, Hart, or James. Manning also trusts him.
