  1. With Jenks, it's a hell of a lot more about what we saw out of him than what some of the numbers suggest.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 01:13 PM) I'll give you some raw meat. Badda boom! Bet its not ferociously cute.
  3. A guy I've always liked, wouldn't mind seeing him in the NL since he's not gonna be pitching for the Sox...

    Needs more Danny McBride.
  5. ESPN.....they will talk to Dunn, and then talk about our closing situation.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) Then why would you want the Bears and Vikings? Yeah, I thought about that after I said it....
  7. The only logical choice is Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa. We've been itching for real football for a century.
  8. Can't say we aren't trying.
  9. Sign Balfour and call it a bullpen.
  10. So....the Vols lose at home to Oakland.
  11. Damn sensationalist Iowa media. It's well known that Iowa football gets into trouble with the law - a lot, this was just the first time anyone seemed to care, and it was overblown.
  12. Robinson suspended for bowl game, news conference at 10 AM tomorrow.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 13, 2010 -> 04:08 PM) Awww s***. Not sure if it all sticks, but I'll let you know. Supposedly some of the biggest names are involved. http://deadspin.com/5713139/somethings-going-down-at-iowa
  14. Here's the rumored list of some who will reportedly be suspended: Binns, Ballard, McNutt, Davis, ARob, Hampton, Prater, Bernstein have all failed drug tests.
  15. Rumor in Iowa is that the hammer will come down on Iowa football soon, with as many as 11 players kicked off/suspended. Jewel Hampton is the first to go.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 13, 2010 -> 12:47 PM) I'm betting 6-10 in conference. 5 games they should win on paper, let's say they drop one, that's 4. Add two upsets of the remaining 11 games, which is typical, that's 6 wins. Anything more is a bonus. Who knows. It's a tough team to read. All I know is this team is INFINITELY more fun to watch.
  17. I don't see us winning more than 4 in conference.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 04:42 PM) If anyone wonders why people delight in rubbing stuff in his face, read his last string of tweets. I could see him being the kind of guy to protest at soldiers funerals. I'm taking absolute delight in it as well.
  19. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 12:28 AM) Why would you doubt it? Miami fans have talked about Rhoads so I'm sure he is other the radar for other schools too. I doubt he'd leave and I think Pitt would want more of a name.
  20. Rumor on a Pitt board that they have offered Rhoads the Pitt job and he has the weekend to decide. Really, really doubt it. Though, I suppose if thats the case, Holgorsen can come back to Iowa!
  21. Will Muschamp, Texas's head coach in waiting, will be the next coach at Florida.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) Congrats on the win Heads, but Iowa St. might win the all-ugly team this year. At least The Mayor looks spiffy in his suit. It's still so much better than the McDermott crap.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) Goodness people, do you really think the Phillies are going to give up the top prospect in baseball for Carlos Quentin? Well, this offseason HAS gone pretty well.
  24. Bill Simmons, you are awful.
